Christmas Sunday

I hesitated calling this post Christmas Sunday, because I'm not sure I'm prepared to post new Christmas cards again each Sunday, but I'll give it a shot. That way I'll limit my Christmas card postings to once a week, anyway:)

The set that I used for this card is from Stampin' Up! and is called Bells and Boughs. I stamped it with Memento London Fog ink and colored it with Copic markers. I embossed the top with a Cuttlebug border folder, added a couple scored lines and matted with a reddish cardstock. I'm entering this in the Christmas Card Challenge blog. The main challenge is just to make a Christmas card. The "real" challenge this week is a sketch, which looks like a great one, but I make my Christmas cards before the challenge is posted, so I rarely follow the challenge.

Black and White Wedding

How about a wedding card for today?

I used my Stampin' Up! set called Easy Events again. I stamped the image on a strip of white. I added a little bit of color to the leaves and the heart. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the wings and heart and tiny gems to the eyes. I used Scor-Tape to make glittery stripes on the sides with black glitter. I matted with shimmery black and used Dimensionals for added dimension.

Edited to add: It was suggested to me that I enter this in the Runway Inspired blog challenge, so I did! The challenge this week is an Inspiration challenge, based on this photo.

Flutter By Wednesday #237 - A Sketch

Today's card is for the new Flutter By Wednesday challenge, which is the sketch below. Thanks to all of you who joined last week's challenge and I hope you'll join us again! Please make your card using the following sketch and remember to add your butterfly or fairy. Then link your card up to the Flutter By Wednesday blog.

For my card, I used my Stampin' Up! Serene Silhouettes again. I stamped it using a Kaleidacolor ink pad and added teeny tiny gems to the flower centers. I cut it and the matting with Circle Nestabilities. I embossed the purple layer with a Sizzix folder and the white layer with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. I matted the white with black and added larger gems to follow the sketch. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. We'd love to have you play along.

Two More Christmas Cards

I did a little stamping yesterday and last night and made these two Christmas cards and a wedding card. I will share the wedding card on Thursday.

Both of these cards use a stamp from one of my new Stampin' Up! sets called Easy Events. For this first one, I stamped on white and used a Memento marker for the leaves. The berries are Liquid Pearls. I used my Martha Stewart scoring board for the lines. I had to "deboss" them because I put the pearls on first:( I mounted the image panel on Dimensionals. The background was embossed with a Sizzix folder.
This card uses the same stamp. I stamped on slightly-textured red cardstock and colored with a Memento marker and a Tim Holtz white distress marker. I matted with Old Olive cardstock. I embossed a border along the bottom with a Cuttlebug folder.

Edited to add: I almost forgot to link up to the Christmas Card Challenge blog this week!

One-Layer Daisy Birthday

I was filing some digital images on Friday and came across this one. I thought it was very pretty. I'm so sorry that I didn't make a note of where I got it. :(

I printed it directly on the card front. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and just blended a little bit with a blending pencil. The sentiment is from a Papertrey set.

To answer a question from a comment from "Anonymous" yesterday: I don't know of any way to find out when someone has pinned something from my blog to Pinterest. If any else does, I'd love to know! Once in a while I just search on Pinterest for "My Stamping  Addiction" and can see what shows up. Things other than my cards show up, but if I click on one of mine, then I can click on the link to "Pinned from My Stamping Addiction." I don't use Pinterest for anything other than that:)

Happy Birthday, Dad!

It was my dad's 88th birthday on Wednesday. We'll be seeing him later today. This is the card I made for him. Usually he gets cards that "do something" or are a special fold. This year, he just gets a "card." :) And it's late!

Sometimes I look at Pinterest just to see which of my cards have been pinned. That's always fun. Yesterday I looked through my pinned cards and was inspired to case one of these cards that I've made. I cut the circle mask with a Nestability. I sponged through the hole with Baja Breeze and Sahara Sand inks. Then I stamped the tree image (from Stampin' Up!'s Serene Silhouettes) with Soft Suede ink. The sentiment is also from Stampin' Up! - from Curly Cute - and is stamped with Buckaroo Blue. I sponged around the edges with Sahara Sand and then again with Soft Suede and I matted with Soft Suede. I wanted a little something more, so I spritzed it with a shimmery coppery spray that I made using Perfect Pearls and water in a little spritz bottle. Of course, you can't see the shimmer.

Edited to add: This card is also for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge to make a Clean and Simple birthday card.

Super-Simple Thanks

I had to have a thank you card and I didn't have much time. :)

The flower and sentiment are one stamp - retired Stampin' Up! I colored with markers and added the pearl center. The punched border was in my "card parts." I believe it was punched with an EK Success punch.

Anybody else tired of the snow??? We got lots more yesterday. I think it's time for winter to be over. Talk about the exact opposite of last year!

My First Christmas Card for 2013! - and some news, too

Finally I made a Christmas card for this year! Last year at this time I must have had about 20 of them finished. Oh well - I have time:) Some day I'll start on my calendars, too, but not today. If I start cranking out the Christmas cards, maybe I'll start up my "Christmas Sunday" again.

Anyway, back to this card. I've had this piece of textured off-white cardstock with the glittery strip on it in my "Card Parts" pile for quite a while. I'm pretty certain I used a piece of Scor-Tape and sprinkled it with red glitter. I finally decided to use it. The sentiment stamp and the mistletoe stamp are both from a set from Stampin' Up! called Christmas Blessings. I colored the leaves with a Memento marker and the berries with a white Tim Holtz marker. I matted with Real Red cardstock. This card is also for the Christmas Card Challenge blog. There is always a specific challenge, but the overall challenge is just to make a Christmas card.

An update on my mom. Her PET scan showed that the surgeon was not able to remove all of her cancer. She will be starting six weeks of radiation today. Any prayers for her would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

And some great news - we will not only be getting a new grandson at the end of May - we'll be getting a new grandchild in October, too! Pretty exciting!

And this is in response to Celia's question on this card. Yes, I use Goo Gone as a substitute for Gamsol, which I do not have. I have heard that you can use baby oil, also, but I have never tried that.

Flutter By Wednesday #236

How's this for a Clean and Simple card? :) I made it for this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge, which is to use a sentiment on the front of your card. And use a butterfly or a fairy, too, of course! You can find the details and the wonderful creations of the design team on the Flutter By Wednesday blog.

For this card, I stamped the sentiment (from a Papertrey Ink set) on a small piece of white cardstock with SU!'s Soft Suede ink. I inked up the butterfly (from Inkadinkado) with Soft Suede, also. I stamped it off once and then stamped again over the sentiment. I matted with a layer of Soft Suede cardstock.

We'd love to have you join us this week!

Happy Anniversary, Lucy and David!

This card is for my good friend, Lucy and her husband, David, for their anniversary. It was actually yesterday, but I know she reads my blog every morning and I wanted her to see it in person before she saw it here. Hope it was a great day, Lucy! Lucy and I have been friends for ... way too many years to admit to here! LOL! (Nearly 50, if you really want to know.)

I had the flower image printed out from last Wednesday's Flutter By Wednesday post, so I colored it and used it. I used Prismacolor pencils and Goo Gone for the coloring, and I added Star Dust Stickles to the flowers. I cut it out and glued it to the bottom layer. The bottom layer is stamped with a PSX stamp, embossed with a Stampin' Up! folder, and matted with black. Edited to add: I forgot to say that the digital image is from Beccy's Place.

This card is also for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge to use sparkle on a CAS (Clean and Simple) card.

Welcome Little One!

I stole a little time yesterday to make a card. We've still had so much going on. (Lots of decisions, among other things, and we're not good with major decisions! Luckily, they are nothing serious - just "fun" choices in our house, but stressful, nonetheless.)

Anyway, I made this card for Natasha's Clean and Simple Stamping blog challenge, which is always a sketch. The elephant is paperpieced using an Inkadinkadoo stamp and Die Cuts With a View paper. I colored the patches and charm with markers. I cut the partial circles with Nestabilities. I stamped the sentiment - from a dollar set from Studio G - and then embossed the background with a Sizzix folder. The matting is Going Gray from Stampin' Up!

Sympathy

Another simple sympathy card to share today. I realized I'm going to see my friend that wanted the sympathy cards later today, so I thought I should maybe make some!

The card base is vanilla. The image is from Stampin' Up!'s Serene Silhouettes and is matted with black. The sentiment is from SU's Close as a Memory.

Pink Princesses

I made this card for our granddaughter - the little princess who loves pink!

The embossing was done with a Cuttlebug folder. Before dry embossing, I brayered the folder with Versamark ink and Pretty in Pink ink. After dry embossing, I used sparkly embossing powder on it to make it all sparkly and pink. I punched the corners with a Fiskars heart corner punch and matted with Pretty in Pink cardstock.

Flutter By Wednesday

A new challenge from Flutter By Wednesday starts today. And it's everyone's favorite - Open! Just be sure to include your butterfly or fairy. We are sponsored this week by Beccy's Place. She generously supplied images to members of the FBW team. The image I chose is called Blossom Sprig. So pretty! She is also donating a prize to one random winner - three free digis of your choice. Be sure to check out her blog, too. There is lots of inspiration and also lots of free images on the blog under "Freebies." So what are you waiting for? Simply create your card with a fairy or butterfly, post it to your blog or on-line gallery, and link it up the Flutter By Wednesday blog!

I colored my image with Copics and kept everything very simple. I matted with black, stamped the sentiment (from a Papertrey Ink set) and added a couple little black butterflies with beige pearl bodies. They were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

Edited to add: I'm entering this card into the Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge for this week. The challenge is to make a Clean and Simple card. I think this qualifies:)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Leafy Birthday

A simple birthday card for a guy.

I cut the leaf with my silhouette and used the negative image to sponge the green ink onto the cardstock. Then, leaving the mask in place, I used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp (Antique Cracking) to add the dark green. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Sorry to be so brief, but as I'm typing this, I am so ready for bed!

Happy Birthday, Georgia!

A birthday card for a friend in my stamping group - Happy Birthday, Georgia!

The doily stamp is from Stampin' Up! and I stamped it in Perfect Plum. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I stamped it with Elegant Eggplant. I matted with Perfect Plum. Simple, but pretty, I think:)

Spring Thinking of You

Just a simple Thinking of You card to share with you today. The image is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called Feathered Friends. I colored it with Copic markers. I matted with black and punched the edge with a Martha Stewart punch and mounted on foam squares. The bottom layer is embossed with a Stampin' Up! folder and also matted with black. That's it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Flutter By Wednesday Challenge - Flowers!

This week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is to use flowers. Not a big stretch for me! We are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps, and they are generously offering a prize of five digital images to the winner, chosen at random. So, be sure to use flowers and your butterfly or fairy and link your creation up to the blog. Check out the wonderful creations by the design team, too.

For my card, I started by stamping the petals of the daisy with Versamark on white cardstock. I embossed it with white embossing powder. Next, I sponged the blue and the green onto the cardstock. I drew the stem with a marker, stamped the leaves and the black on the petals, and added the button. I matted the panel with black. The butterflies were in my "card parts" box. I know that I did them at one of our Group Gatherings, but I don't remember how I made them. The stamps are all from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

April Calendar Page

I think I remember just last week commenting that it was March already, and here it is - APRIL!! LOL!

Here is my April calendar page. The cloud stamp and the kite stamp are both from Repeat Impressions. I paper-pieced the kite with paper from Recollections and colored the tail pieces with a marker. The sentiment is two stamps from Studio G sets. As always, if you are interested in printing out your own calendars for stamping, my Excel files are available through a link near the top of my page - under the title. I'd love to hear from you if you choose to try them!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
