Butterfly Thinking of You

The green "splotches" were stamped at our Group Gathering using a Stampin' Up! stamp. When I got home, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it! I think this works. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! "Sincere Salutations" set. The butterfly was cut using a Memory Box die. I matted with sage green cardstock.

Wedding Wishes

I die-cut this beautiful design using a Memory Box die at our Group Gathering. It was cut from ivory cardstock. I scored two lines on each side of the design. I added glittered cardstock beneath the die-cut. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! wedding set and is stamped with a brownish ink. I glued the panel directly to the front of the ivory card base.

Birthday for a Guy

More "card parts" on this card. This card base is actually from the second card in this post, after I removed the image panel. The image is from Repeat Impressions. I stamped it on water color cardstock and painted it with SU! inks. I matted with black and mounted on Dimensionals.

Butterflies and Best Wishes

I've had this background piece in my "card parts" for over a year. It was done by sponging distress inks onto ivory cardstock, then spritzing a stencil and placing it over the inked piece. The water removes the ink and leaves the pattern of the stencil. I die-cut the edge with a Memory Box die. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set called "Sincere Salutations." I added a couple black strips along the left side. The card base is ivory.

Sympathy Rub-Ons

While digging through my stickers on Friday, I came across these flower stickers and the sympathy rub-ons. The rub-ons are from My Sentiments Exactly. There were matching verses for the insides of the cards, too. I've had them for many years. I matted this one with black.
I'm not sure I exactly like the placement of these flowers, but at least they are very pretty and the sentiment is nice:)

Pink Daisy Birthday

More "card parts" used! This yellow piece has been around for a long time. It was a piece of textured cardstock that I had used to clean off my brayer. After doing that, I just could not throw it away! I matted it with black. I added the sentiment, which is from Papertrey Ink. The flower is from a package that I bought recently at Michael's and is from Martha Stewart.

More Butterfly Birthdays!

I had some more of these beautiful die-cut butterfly pieces, so I decided to make them into cards. For this first one, I had die-cut it from black. I put purple foil cardstock behind it, leaving a border of purple around the outside. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set that was next in my stack. It's called "Sincere Salutations" and it's one of my favorite SU! sentiment sets. You will be seeing more of scattered here and there. I matted the sentiment with black and then the purple foil and mounted it on Dimensionals.
This one I had die-cut the butterflies out of blue foil cardstock. I simply mounted it on Dimensionals and added it to the card front.
This third one was cut from white. I put it over very shimmery blue glitter cardstock and left a border around the outside. The sentiment was stamped at our Group Gathering, so I don't know what company it's from. I matted it with the same blue sparkly cardstock.

Enjoy Your Day

I have so many options for my cards these days! I have my Stampin' Up! project, I have my card parts, and I also have a lot of stamp sets given to me by a friend! Too many things ... not enough time. :) (Not to mention all my other stamps, my embellishments, my stickers, etc., etc., etc.)

For today's card, I went with "card parts" and also a daisy I've had for years. (This was the first one I've used from the package. It's from Martha Stewart.) The yellow and black pieces were cut at our Group Gathering in June. I believe the die is from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the sentiment (from My Favorite Things) and embossed the yellow piece with my Darice Wire Fence folder.

Take Three #1 - 6

The next set in my Stampin' Up! project. This one is called "Take Three." The set consists of six small stamps - each with three objects divided by a line, and a sentiment. I colored each of them with markers (except the "Friendship" and "Miss You" ones) and stamped them on white and cut them out.

On this first one, I used a Darice Wire Fence embossing folder. The colored cardstock on these first four is from a matstack from Die Cuts With a View - Brights. It has a white core. I sanded down the embossing. I matted with a small piece of purple and mounted on foam squares.
For this one, I matted with bright orange (looks much redder in the picture than for real.) I embossed with a Darice Crackle folder and sanded this one down, too. Again the sentiment is mounted on foam squares.
I added green gems to the centers of the flowers. The pink cardstock is textured and I did not emboss this one. The sentiment is attached directly to the pink layer - I didn't use foam squares.
I embossed the purple layer with a Darice Quilt Blocks folder. I used a Kaleidocolor pad to ink up the stamp. I matted the layers with navy blue.
I used a rainbow pad to ink up this stamp.  I embossed the white layer with the Darice Wire Fence folder. The sentiment is mounted on Dimensionals.
I added three small red gems to the image panel. The white layer is embossed with a Sizzix Christmas embossing folder.

Penny Black Poinsettias

While at our "Group Gathering" in June, I stamped these poinsettias using a Penny Black stamp. The sentiment is from the same set. I stamped all of them with just one coloring of the stamp. I inked up the stamp using Tim Holtz Distress Markers and spritzed with water. I am entering these cards into the Penny Black challenge and also the Christmas Card Challenge blog.

Wow - while linking to the Christmas Card Challenge blog, I found out I was a Top 3 last week! Very cool! I have added the logo to my blog.

For this first one, I used watercolor cardstock. I trimmed the panel down and adhered to the card front.
For this second one, I used white cardstock and matted with red.
For this third one, I simply trimmed down the image and added it to my card front.
This fourth one was done to simply clean off the stamp! It still stamped so nicely that I had to use it:) I matted with red and added it to the right side of the card front.

Seeing Spots #2

The second card using the Stampin' Up! set called "Seeing Spots." This card uses the last four stamps in the set - the flower, the circle stamped in coral, the rings of circles stamped in lavender and the set of three circles stamped in sage. I stamped the background, embossed it with a Darice Wire Fence folder, and then matted with sage cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with the matching purple and cut it out with a die. I cut the matting from the sage cardstock. I stamped the flower in a circle, cut it out with a die, cut the matting, and then glued it to the sentiment. I mounted both pieces on foam squares.

Seeing Spots #1

On to another set - making progress toward my goal of using all of my Stampin' Up! sets. This set is called "Seeing Spots."

This card uses two of the six stamps - the "thank you" sentiment circle and the flower. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a circle die. I stamped the flower, cut it out and mounted it on a foam square on the sentiment circle. I also added a gem to the flower center. I die-cut the matting with using a Spellbinders die. I embossed the background with my new favorite embossing folder - Darice Wire Fence. I matted that panel with the same purple as the circle matting and the flower.

Smorgasborders #5 and 6

The last two stamps from the Stampin' Up! "Smorgasborders" set. I once again stamped the flowers with Memento black ink and colored with Copics. I didn't mat the image panel and I mounted on foam squares. Once again, the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
For this second card, I stamped the image twice, lining it up with my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I love this sentiment from Papertrey ink. I have to be honest about this one ... after I photographed it, I took the image panel off and used the base to make another card:( I wasn't keen on the image.

Smorgasborders #3 and 4

The next two cards using the Stampin' Up! set called "Smorgasborders." The stamp is the border stamp. I stamped it with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. I embossed the bottom panel with a Cuttlebug folder. I matted both with bright blue cardstock. The image panel is mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
A very simple card to be used as a wedding or anniversary card. Sorry for the not-so-good picture. I stamped the image with Versamark ink and embossed with detail silver embossing powder. I matted with shimmery silver cardstock and popped it up with foam squares.

Stay tuned for the last two cards with this set tomorrow:)

Smorgasborders #1 and 2

The first (and second) of six cards made with the Stampin' Up! set called "Smorgasborders." It is a set of nine stamps - three sentiments (which I did not use) and six little border stamps. The cards are nearly identical, but I'm sharing both.

I stamped the image three and a half times with Memento black ink and colored with Copics. The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I matted with matching dark green.
For this one, I stamped the image at the top instead. I added gems for the flower centers. I will have to add sentiments later - or leave them blank.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Snow Angels #3

The third card using the Stampin' Up! set called "Snow Angels."

I again used Memento black ink to stamp the image and colored with Copic markers. I cut the image out with a Spellbinders circle die and then used a scalloped die for the matting. I mounted the image panel on foam squares. I also added some Star Dust Stickles to the snow. The background was embossed with a Darice Snowflake embossing folder.

I am linking this card up to the Christmas Card Challenge blog. The optional challenge this week is a color challenge, but the only real requirement is to post a Christmas card.

Snow Angels #2

The second card using the Stampin' Up! set called "Snow Angels."

I stamped the images (the snowman and the pile of snowballs) with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. I cut out the pile of snowballs and mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper on the top and bottom of the image panel is from a Recollections stack. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. The entire image panel is mounted on Dimensionals.

Snow Angels #1

The first of three cards using the Stampin' Up! set called "Snow Angels." I would love to post all three of them at one time, but I haven't had time to stamp anything new, so you get them one at a time.

For this first card, I used two of the stamps - the mittens and the cup of hot cocoa. I stamped them with Memento black ink and colored them with Copics. I cut them out and matted them with red cardstock, then mounted it on Dimensionals. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I am linking this card up to the Christmas Card Challenge blog. The optional challenge this week is a color challenge, but the only real requirement is to post a Christmas card.

Simply Sweet - #1 and #2

And one more of my Stampin' Up! sets completed!  Today's set is called "Simply Sweet." I'm sure there are two more stamps in this set, but I only have these two.

I stamped the cakes image for this first card with Versamark and embossed with detail silver embossing powder. I matted with shimmery silver. I embossed the bottom of the blue cardstock with a Sizzix folder and then stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) with Versamark and embossed it with silver, also. I mounted the image panel on Dimensionals.
I stamped this image with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment with black (it's from Papertrey Ink) and mounted the image panel on Dimensionals.

Simple Sketches - #1 and #2

Another Stampin' Up! set done:) This one is called "Simple Sketches." I'm pretty sure there are more stamps in the complete set, but I wanted the butterflies pretty badly and bought them, along with these two sentiments, on eBay. And then I hardly ever used them!

For this first one, I stamped the butterflies and sentiment and cut them into squares. Then I matted them with a single piece of Crushed Curry cardstock. I mounted that panel on Dimensionals. The patterned paper is from a Die Cuts With a View matstack.
This second card uses the same butterfly stamps. It's really hard to see, but the third layer of the butterfly (the squiggly lines) and the sentiment are embossed with gold embossing powder. I scored two lines between the butterfly and the sentiment and then I added a very thin strip of shimmery gold cardstock. I matted that layer - and the bottom layer - with the gold cardstock. The bottom layer was created using a Memory Box leaf stencil and a Darice Wire Fence embossing folder. The butterfly panel is mounted on Dimensionals.

Send a Celebration

Continuing on with my mission of using all of my Stampin' Up! sets, I am sharing this card. I used the set called "Send a Celebration." There are four stamps in the set - here are two of them. I used another one recently and one you will see next April on my calendar page. (I'm pretty sure I used the fourth one recently on a card. I searched my blog for it and can't find it. Sorry!)

I stamped the image and sentiment in Memento black ink and colored with Copics. I matted with shimmery silver cardstock. The image panel is mounted on Dimensionals. I added three different sizes of gems to the centers of the flowers. I will use this as an anniversary card.

Cityscape Birthday

This stamped and heat-embossed piece has been in my card parts for a couple years. It was stamped with Versamark ink and then different colors of distress embossing powder were added. I matted it with shimmery cardstock. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Paint Chip Balloons Birthday

I had several sheets of paint chips after looking for paint for our dining room. I also had these stamps offs of balloon strings, which is from Papertrey Ink. I combined these things with a Martha Stewart balloon punch and a white gel pen, and this is what I got:) The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
My "card parts" were all cleaned up and organized when I wrote this post so long ago. That felt so good! I threw some out and gave some away and sorted the rest. Of course, now I have a lot more from my "Group Gathering," but I've been working on those, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Welcome Little One

Finally I'm sharing another card I made with the Avery Elle stamp set that Harriet gave me when she was here. I colored the images with Copic markers. All of the stamps are from the same set. I punched the bottom border with an EK Success border punch and matted with blue. I used a white gel pen for the dots on the fawn and butterfly.

Simple Florals - #1 - 4

Finally, another step towards using all of my old Stampin' Up! sets! It's been a while again. The set I've used for today's cards is called "Simple Florals." It consists of four stamps of flowers in vases.

For this first card, I used Copics to color. The background is embossed with a Darice "Crackle" folder using green foil/mirror cardstock. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. (Big surprise! NOT!!) I matted both pieces with black.
I used Copics for this flower image, too, and matted with green. The sentiment is from Papertrey, stamped on vellum. I embossed the background (from a Die Cuts With a View Bright matstack) with a Cuttlebug folder and matted that with green, also.

I wish you could see just how shimmery this sparkly cardstock is! Again, I colored with Copics and the sentiment is from Papertrey. I matted with the shimmery cardstock. The border on the left side is cut with (I think!) a Memory Box die.

I colored this image with Prismacolor pencils and used Goo Gone to blend them. I also added some Diamond Glaze to the vase for the water. I matted with green and mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper is from Recollections.

Tiny Butterfly Birthday

I used a friend's die at our Group Gathering to cut this out - the "stitched" circles and rectangle were all cut at the same time. I matted the rectangle on some sparkly cardstock. Then I cut little butterflies using the same sparkly cardstock. I added them to the circles and mounted on foam squares, putting them off-center so the sparkle shows underneath. I also added black gems for the butterflies' bodies. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Stenciled Birthday

I just "happened" across this little stencil a while back, and it's been sitting on my table waiting to be used. I stenciled it three times on this border and matted with green. The sparkly butterflies were cut with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The card measures 4 x 9 inches and fits into a legal-sized envelope.

Sparkly Thanks - and Happy Fourth!!

Happy Independence Day to my American readers!

I die-cut this "THANKS" piece in Des Moines and finished it into this card. The die cuts all the black that you see. I cut the white piece to fill the space.

I used a Memory Box stencil for the leaves and a Memory Box die to cut the flowers out of sparkly cardstock. The centers are sparkly enamel dots. I didn't have any small enough for the small flowers, so I cut some with a die.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

JOFY Birthday

When Harriet was here, she brought this stamp by JOFY. Here are the two cards I made with it. I colored them both with Copics. The sentiments on these cards are from Papertrey Ink.
The purple piece on this second one was embossed with a Cuttlebug border folder.
