Gold Thinking of You

I guess I should try getting a better picture of this card, but I'm a rather lazy blogger. 😉 I was given a couple sheets of this ivory paper with gold lines around the edges. I cut it down to place on a normal-size card. All I did to finish it up was to stamp the sentiment (from Stampin' Up!) with Versamark and emboss with detail gold embossing powder.

Black and Cream Wedding

I used a die to cut the black piece on this card, then cut a piece of ivory to fit. I embossed the ivory part with a Darice embossing folder and added a coule scored lines on each side of it. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is matted with black and popped up on foam squares. I think it would make a fine wedding card, or perhaps even an anniversary card.

Edited to add: I broke down and ordered a few more dies from China. :( I thought I wouldn't do it again, but I couldn't resist. This is one of those new dies. I don't honestly know if it's a rip-off of some other company's die, but I'm assuming that it is.

Edited to add - again: For Doublemindt: This die is from China. I ordered it from AliExpress.com.

Simple Sympathy and Thank You

I stopped at Hobby Lobby the other day and picked up some much-needed patterned paper. LOL! I couldn't resist it, though, at 50% off. The stack I got is from The Paper Studio. I added it to black cardstock and put white on the bottom. The sentiments were both cut with dies. Super simple.

One (Last?) Card Class Card

I thought yesterday's card was going to be my last card from the Online Card Class, but I made another one:) For this one, I just looked at the sketch, but I didn't trace it. And the sentiment is my writing.

Online Card Class Card

A drawing was provided for this card, too. I used the drawing and also painted my card the same as hers. Well, not exactly, of course - I don't have the talent for that! I just did my best. It was a fun class. I'm excited to do more watercoloring now.

Leaves and Flowers from the Online Card Class

Two more cards from the Online Card Class Watercolor Class. This first one is all free-hand, using the video as a guide.
A sketch was provided for this one, and I used it.

I'll have one more card from the class to share with you tomorrow, then I'll be back to stamping and die-cutting. I sure hope I use some of what I've learned in the class, though!

More Card Class Projects

Here are four more projects from the Online Card Class I am taking - watercolors. I need LOTS more practice, but I thought I would share these anyway. I didn't actually make these four into cards - they are just the front panel.

It's been fun to play with watercolors and learn some techniques. I'll be sharing more soon, I hope.

More Card Class Cards

Here are two more cards from the On-Line Card Class I am taking. They are from Day 4. I haven't done any from Day 2, 3 or 5 yet. I'll work on that:)
The sentiment on the first one is written with a marker.
The sentiment on this one is a die cut.

Wildflower Thanks

A card I made with parts that I had on hand. I stamped the image (I don't know who it's by) when I was in Des Moines last month. I colored it with Copics. The sentiment was stamped and die-cut a few years ago, also in Des Moines. I colored the background of it with a Copic, too. I matted with light purple and called it done - and pretty:)

Bleach Technique

I watched a video of Gina K doing this technique and decided to give it a try. It's really quite simple. Ink up a background stamp and stamp on a piece of white or ivory cardstock. In both of my cards, I also spread another color of ink over the stamped image to color the white spots. Then stamp a line image over the background with Versamark and emboss with detail black embossing powder. Get yourself some bleach and "color" the image with it. It will remove the ink that you put on the card.

For this first card, the background is from Darcie's and the images are from Gina K. The sentiment is from Gina K, also.
The background on this second card is from Recollections. The stamps are from Gina K.

Watercolor Class Cards

I am taking an on-line watercoloring class. It's my first time ever taking an on-line class:) I'm a bit behind, but here are the three cards that I made for the Day One lesson. All three cards were done with no stamps or dies - just watercoloring and markers.

Tiny Flowers

A simple card using die cuts, sticker, gems, stamp, markers and punch:) The image panel was a left-over die cut. I stamped the green with a Gina K stamp. The flowers were punched out of white and colored with three colors of Copics. I added gems for the centers. I cut a white mat and used a Copic to color the edges of it. I added anther die-cut layer with a stitched square die. The card base and layers are ivory.

Die-Cut Flower Silhouettes and Sticker Sentiments

I received a set of flower silhouette dies and have used them all on today's cards. They are unbranded. When I was in Des Moines, I bought a package of Mrs. Grossman birthday sentiment stickers. I like the fonts on them. There were three sheets in the package and each sheet consists of two sets of the same sentiment fonts. I have used up one complete set so far ... five to go!

The image panel on this first one is mounted on foam squares.
For this second one, I embossed the background with a Darice Wire Fence folder and scored a line between the embossing and the sentiment. Then I added color with the matting.
I had this die-cut (almost) square laying on my table from a short while ago, and also the punched butterfly had been on my table for a long, long time. I added black gems for the butterfly's body and mounted the panel on foam squares. I also added a thin strip of black.
I added two of the die cuts to this card.

Pink Die-Cut Flowers

A simple card using dies and stickers. I sponged a bit of pink ink on the edges of the pink flowers. The flower centers and the sentiment are stickers.

Happy Birthday, Joyce!

A birthday card for a group member. Her birthday was yesterday. The image was stamped a couple years ago at our Gathering. I believe it's from Penny Black, but I'm not certain. It was done by coloring the rubber stamp with markers, misting slightly and then stamping. The sentiment is a sticker. I matted with matching cardstock. Hard to see, but I also added three drops of Nuvo Drops.

Cute Critters

I cut these elephants, giraffes and lions last month in Des Moines. They are so cute. I added tiny gems for the elephants' and the giraffes' eyes. For this first card, I used a square of light pink and matted with gray. I mounted the elephant on foam squares. The sentiment is stamped in gray and is from Papertrey Ink.
I cut the lions out of yellow and also out of brown, and used the brown for his mane. He is mounted on foam squares. I used a strip of yellow and brown for him to rest on. The sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink.
I cut the shape for the elephant to rest on using an oval die. The elephant is popped up. I embossed the background piece using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The sentiment is from PTI.
I made two cards exactly like this one. I matted an ivory panel with brown cardstock and added a sticker sentiment. The giraffe is mounted on foam squares.

And one last card, using another lion. The sentiment on this one is also a sticker.

Another Matching Envelope

Again, this patterned paper is from Kris from our Group Gathering in Des Moines last month. I thought this paper was so pretty!! It was double-sided, which you can see by the envelope. For the card, I die-cut the frame from ivory cardstock (the die was a gift from Kris) and added it to the front. I die-cut the flowers and added enamel dot centers to them. The sentiment is a sticker, which I purchased at the store we were at.
And here is a picture of the card with the envelope.

Cards With Matching Envelopes

While in Des Moines last month, we used our envelope punch boards for a little project. But, Kris also brought paper for making envelopes with them. So, I made a couple envelopes out of the yellow patterned paper and brought the scraps back to make matching cards. Here are my cards, along with the envelopes. Not much to them! For this first one, I matted the paper with yellow cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) on to white cardstock, matted with yellow and mounted on foam squares.
For the second card, I used a dark green card base and again matted the patterned paper with yellow. I die cut the sentiment out of the same green as the base.

And here are the two cards with the envelopes. Thanks, Kris!

Easter Card-in-a-Box

A member of our stamping group had us make these cards-in-a-box while we were in Des Moines a couple weeks ago. What a lot of pieces to cut!!! Thanks so much, Vicki! She had cut all of the white pieces, the colored pieces, the patterned paper pieces and also stamped and die-cut all of the other pieces!

I finished putting mine together last night, and here it is. A very fun "card" to make.

Super-Simple Birthday

I was going to toss the scraps that had accumulated at my paper cutter, and found these two pieces in the pile. I just couldn't throw them out, and therefore this card was created:) The patterned paper is from a Paper Studio matstack and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Die-Cut Ornaments

A friend had this die at our Group Gathering in Des Moines. I do not know what brand it is. I made four cards using the pieces that I made there. I cut it twice from white, green and red.

For this first card, I used the leaves and ornament cut from green and red. I also cut the ornament hanger from silver and used it on this one and one other. Before putting the pieces together, I stamped the ornament with a Tattered Angels stamp and embossed with white. I matted the panel with red and mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from a Recollections set.
For this one, all of the pieces are white. I stamped the leaves with the same Tattered Angel stamp as the first one and I stamped the ornament with a stamp from the Recollections set. Again, I matted with red and mounted on foam squares, and again, the sentiment is from Recollections.
I used white pieces again for this one. I colored the thin borders and the ornament hanger with Copics. I used the Tattered Angels stamp for the leaves and the Recollections stamps for the ornament.
Again I used red and green pieces for this one. I stamped the ornament with the Tattered Angels stamp and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the silver for the hanger. Like the others, the image panel is mounted on foam squares.
