Well, I finally made another card from the Online Class. It feels good to do a little creating. I cut the circle in a piece of cardstock and then used thin (1/4 inch strips) of colored cardstock to weave from the back. I mounted the panel on foam squares. I die-cut the sentiment several times and stacked them. I'm not really enamored with the card, but it was fun! I think I would like it better if I had placed the strips a little bit further apart.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
A place for me to share the cards I create, and maybe a few other things, too!

Stamped Background
I stamped this background just before I went into "concentrate on Mom and Dad's stuff" mode. I think I actually finished the card shortly after that. But here it is finally on my blog. Hopefully I'll have some more time to create soon.
I happened upon this wood-mounted leaf stamp when I had a bunch of wood-mounted stamps out. (They are all still out, by the way!) It's by Scrappy Cat. I thought it looked kind of pretty. So, I made this background with it. All of the other stamps (flower, flower center, four-dots, and sentiment) are from Papertrey Ink. I used Gina K inks and matted with Gina K cardstock. I used foam squares to mount the panel.
I got all through the boxes of my mom and dad's things. It's at least sorted out. Step one! I will be passing a lot of it on to my brother. I have a BIG box of pictures, though, that I still need to sort out as best as I can and scan them. That is going to take a long time! At least they are all in one place, though.
Our daughter and her family are coming for a visit soon and will be here for a while. I guess my stamping time will be limited then! I'll just create when I can and enjoy the company.

Friends
This die-cut butterfly piece was sitting on my table and I wanted to get it off. I had already added inks to it, and spritzed it with Perfect Pearls mixed with water. It really is quite shimmery. The sentiment is a wood-mounted stamp from Penny Black. I matted it with striped paper and mounted that panel on foam strips.
I've been thinking a lot about the stacks of boxes I have from my mom and dad's house. It's been weighing on my mind that I said that I would take them home and go through them. Now it's been four years since my dad died and I still haven't done it. I'm going to take a break from everything and get to work on them. I'm sure I won't be able to help myself at times and will create some cards. And I still have over half of my on-line card class left! I'll just have to do that later. So, don't worry about me if I go a while without posting or visiting your blogs. I'm fine:)

Sympathy Irises
Here is another stamp I ran across last week. I was looking through all of my non-Stampin' Up! wood mounted stamps and found a few I wanted to make sure to use. And also lots more that I would like to use, too! At any rate, I at least used one. It's by Stampa Rosa. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and cut it out. I mounted it on foam squares and added it to a piece of white cardstock matted with black. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

Christmas Blessings
While digging through my stamps recently, I came across this stamp. I'm not even sure where i got it, but I'm thinking it's from a friend who isn't stamping anymore. (Is that right, Lucy?) It's from My Sentiments Exactly. For this first card, I stamped it with Versamark Ink and embossed it with silver embossing powder. I matted with shimmery silver paper. The sentiment is also embossed with silver.
For this second card, I stamped with black, colored lightly with Copics, added shimmer to the stars and matted with blue.

Spring Card Camp 2 - Day Five
Day Five of the Spring Card Camp online class was to use shading with stencils. The first example was "vintage" shading. She first used a very light tan over the whole stencil and then used light shades of coloring. I used two shades of green over the tan. I don't really have many stencils, so I've used this same Memory Box stencil. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I matted with black and mounted on a kraft cardbase. I also added a few "nail heads."

Two-Fer Challenge - Flowers, Repeat Impressions Challenge
The Two-Fer Challenge this month is flowers. How could I pass that up? :) Besides that, I had just come across this old, wood-mounted rubber stamp by Inkadinkado. I think it's so pretty. I had decided to stamp it on watercolor paper and get it painted. This was done before I even remembered the Two-Fer Challenge, but it was perfect timing. Then I saw that the challenge on Repeat Impressions' blog, House That Stamps Built, included one of the Tic Tac Toe challenge lines being flowers and watercolor! I just added a few gems to the second card and it fit that challenge, too! I don't usually do challenges, so it felt good to do two with one stamp. Sorry for the little bit washed out colors on this first photo.
Here is the first card. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The image panel is mounted on foam squares. I added Wink of Stella to the flowers.
The sentiment on this second card is from Papertrey, also. This one is for the Repeat Impressions Tic Tac Toe challenge. My line includes flowers, watercolor and gems.

Spring Card Camp 2 Day Four
This is my card for day four of the online card class. After having made it, and looking at the lesson again, I should probably have done things differently! Oh well - I took it as repetition of a sentiment. Actually, I guess it was using scraps of different colors and using the sentiment multiple times. This works for me, though! (I guess I could have at least stamped in different colors.) The "happy" is from Papertrey Ink. The "birthday" was die-cut with a My Favorite Things die out of turquoise and also fun foam.

Spring Card Camp 2 - Day Three
Day Three of the Online Spring Card Camp 2 was to use a stencil for embossing. I used a Memory Box stencil. I matted it with black. The circle stamps are from Papertrey Ink and the circles are cut with Nestabilities. The innermost circle is mounted on foam squares.

Spring Card Camp - Day 1
Day One of the On-line Card Class Spring Card Camp was masking. I masked off the oval and used Gina K inks to fill in the oval. The sentiment stamp and the flowers are both from my favorite Hero Arts sympathy set. I think I'll make another card using the reverse oval and stamp or ink up the piece except for the oval. Hopefully soon. I had to make two quick sympathy cards. I was out. My last uncle passed away last week, as did a member of our church. Our church member died of Covid-19.
Well, I DID make another card, and even in time to put it in the same blog post. Mother's Day was a good stamping day for me:) I placed the die-cut oval on the white cardstock and brushed ink over it, around the rest of the piece. I used another oval die to add the black oval line inside the white oval. I think it would have been better without it, but oh well! I used the same stamps as the first card.

Online Spring Card Class - Day Two
I signed up for the Online Card Class Spring Camp 2 that started on Wednesday. I finally got a chance to make a couple class cards! I watched the videos very, very late Friday night when I couldn't sleep. Then late afternoon and early evening yesterday I got these cards done. I was thinking that this theme was from Day One, but it was from Day Two. Oh well! :)
As you can probably tell, the "theme" was stripes. I taped off areas of my card fronts and brushed inks on them. For this first card, I used all Gina K inks. You really can't see it at all in the picture, but I also stamped on three of the stripes with stamps from the old Stampin' Up! set called Perfect Plaids. The flower image is from Gina K. I stamped it with Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. The sentiment is a very old wooden stamp from Hero Arts. It is also embossed. I matted with black and mounted on a white card base.

Water-Colored Birdies
I do really like doing watercolor, but I'm not so great at it and don't have much imagination. But, I wanted to do a little bit of it and so I created this card. I stamped an image from Inkadinkado several times on watercolor paper to fill the page. Then I used two colors of paint on each little birdie. Some of them turned out well and some not-so-well! But, here they are. I matted with black. The sentiment, from Papertrey Ink, is stamped on shimmery ivory cardstock and heat-embossed. It's also matted with black and is mounted on foam squares.

White Roses
An online friend, Bonnie, recently posted a card using a technique she had learned from a Gina K video. I guess I had missed that one. (Her post is on April 26.) The technique is to stamp with black on kraft cardstock and then color with only white colored pencils. It looks great on Gina's card, but I agree with Bonnie - mine didn't look so great with only white, either! So, I added green to the leaves. I thought I could stamp the image again (using my MISTI) after I used the colored pencils, but I found out that colored pencil doesn't take ink real well. But, I still like the way this turned out and I think our daughter and son-in-law will get this card. The finished card measures four inches by just shy of nine inches. The flowers are by Inkadinkado and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and a few "nail head" enamel dots and I matted the image panel with black.

Thinking of You Note Cards
I came across a package of these note cards by Amuse the other day, and decided it was time to get them out of my stamping room! This is a good time to let people know we are thinking of them, so this is what I came up with. There were ten cards, with envelopes, in the package. They are 3.5 x 5 inches and the dots and the insides are ivory. I die-cut the butterflies from ivory cardstock to match. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. Now I have to figure out who to send them to. I'm thinking of all of you in these strange times - please know that! Stay safe and stay well.

Leaf Stencil Two Ways
It's a two-fer today:) I used a die to cut out these leaves. At least, I think they are leaves! I used them as wheat last week on a sympathy card to North Dakota, though. They also look like feathers to me. At any rate, that's what I used for these cards!
I cut a piece from thick cardstock and used it as a stencil. For this first card, I used embossing paste over the stencil. After removing the stencil, I added emerald pearl lustre embossing powder over the paste and heated it. It makes a cool bubbled texture. I matted with dark green. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is mounted on foam squares.
For this second card, I used Deco Foil Gel and then foiled it with my laminator. The sentiment is from Inky Antics. I cut it out using a Spellbinders die.

May Calendar Page
Here is my May calendar page. I used my MISTI and a stamp set from Technique Tuesday for this one. I added a bit more color to the open flowers with Copic markers. I dragged the edges across an ink pad to add color to the edges.
