Happy New Year

Happy New Year - welcome to 2022!! Hopefully this year will be better than the last couple! I wish everyone good health and happiness.

I guess I shouldn't post this today, but it's close enough. I'll do my calendar post tomorrow.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Grateful Butterfly

I got this Gina K butterfly stamp, die and stencil bundle quite a while ago, and so far this butterfly is about the only thing I've made with it. I think I may have a couple more butterflies and a few leaves, but that's it. The die-cut sentiment is from the same bundle. The butterfly and sentiment are mounted on foam squares. I believe the background was done with a cut-and-emboss folder. I added a few scraps of tie-dye glitter paper behind the openings.

Die-Cut Anniversary

Once again, the card part for this card is the die-cut piece. I added the gold glitter cardstock behind it and also a couple scored lines. I thought I'd use a turquoise sentiment on this one for something different.

Glittery Thinking of You

This die-cut heart was in my card parts. I added gold glitter cardstock behind it. I also added two thin strips of gold glitter cardstock and a "Thinking of You" sentiment. The main panel is mounted of foam squares.

Tie-Dyed Flowers

The card part for this card is the die-cut panel. I matted it with some of my last "tie-dye" glitter cardstock and added the popped up sentiment. It's kind of weird how the colors look so much brighter and bolder in the photo than in real life. I like the slightly subtler colors better!

Birthday Poppies

This stamped image came from my card parts. I added the sentiment to the panel. I matted it with the striped paper and then added thin black strips beside the white panel. I'm pretty sure these must be poppies, but far from certain!

Merry Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve to my Christian friends! Per tradition, I am posting a picture of our Christmas tree. It looks just about the same every year, but here is a picture from this morning.

Safe travels to everyone who is traveling, and I hope everyone gets to spend some time with family and loved ones. We will be heading off to church this afternoon (where I will be playing bells) and then we will be hosting our kids and grandkids for dinner and gift opening. What a wonderful day for us!

Cut-and-Emboss Folder

The card part for this card is basically the whole card front. I do believe it was cut and embossed at the same time using a folder. I simply added some bright pink cardstock behind the opening and heat embossed the sentiment. I also added a few sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Ink Blending

The card part on these two cards is the stamped flower. One was on white and one was on ivory. They had been heat embossed in white. I simply ink blended over them and added the sentiments. I also added a few gems to this first card.

Starry Birthday

I have SO many new things to use, but I don't seem to be motivated to use them - it seems like I don't have enough extended time in my stamping room. So, last week I pulled out several pieces from my "card parts" book. I now have 13 cards to share. I'll be sharing them over the next several days.

The first cards use these cover plate die-cut pieces. I had two in white and one in black. I rotated the white piece so that the two pieces did not line up. I added a small drop of Star Dust Stickles to the centers of the black "stars." The sentiment was printed from my computer and is popped up on foam squares.

This second card uses just one white die-cut piece. I again used the Stickles and a popped-up sentiment.

Winter Birthday

For this wintery birthday card, I randomly stamped the snowflakes in Versamark and embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I ink-blended with two colors of turquoise ink and used watered down white guache to splatter on it. I always like when others use the splatter technique, but I'm not sure if I've ever done it before! The sentiment was printed on my laser printer, foiled with turquoise foil and mounted on foam squares.

Happy "Bird-day"

A card for our daughter-in-law. She likes punny things. The bird stamp and the sentiment stamp are from an old Stampin' Up! set. I used Copic markers and also added some Diamond Glaze to the balloons. I added thin sticker strips to the tops and bottoms of the panels. I also splattered some paint on each panel. The top panel is mounted on foam squares.

Chipboard Sticker Christmas

I got these chipboard stickers in my Gina K Mystery Box. I actually threw most of them out, but wanted to use these ones on some cards. All the papers are from The Paper Studio. This makes twelve cards for next year!

Tiny Stickers Christmas

Pretty boring post, but I do share everything that I make with you. 😀 I got some return address labels, etc. in the mail from a charity, and I saved these tiny stickers. There were four sets of each, so I used four of the same sticker on each of these cards. Otherwise, they are all the same. I die-cut the sentiment and I also added a few gems. There are holly leaves, Santa's face, candy canes and mittens.

Hand-Drawn Flowers

When our granddaughter spent time with us last fall, she drew some flowers for me - based on a stamp that I have. I'm not honestly sure if she drew all of these flowers, or if some of them are my drawings. She gets all the credit, no matter if she did them or I did. I colored them with Copics and put them in my "card parts" book. I dug them out a few days ago and here is what I did with them.

On this first card, the background was embossed with a Sizzix folder. The image is mounted on foam squares.
For these next two cards, I stamped the background with a new-to-me background stamp that I got in a "Mystery Box" from Gina K. I don't know who it's by.

The background on this card is paper by Echo Park, again that came in my Mystery Box.

Ladybug Hello

I decided to use one of my many Martha Stewart punches. They just don't get used anymore - out of sight, out of mind. I need to make them more visible! The ladybugs were punched with one of them. I added some polka dotted paper and a die-cut sentiment. The sentiment is three layers, with the top layer being silver metallic cardstock.

Happy Hanukkah!

Here is the Hanukkah card that I made this year for a friend. Sorry the picture isn't all that great. I took one, but didn't check it out before I mailed the card. Mine was way too washed out! This one is better, but still not so good. I wanted to share it, though. I stamped the stars using a Gina K stamp and silver embossing powder. I embossed the bottom part of the blue panel - I think with a Darice embossing folder. I scored a couple lines with my Scor-Pal. The sentiment was pre-printed from Gina K and I foiled it with silver and matted with shimmery silver paper and popped it up on foam squares. I matted with a layer of shimmery silver paper which I die-cut with a scalloped border die.

Christmas Joy

A simple card that "happened." The image is from Hampton Art. I stamped and colored it (and a couple others) for the fancy fold card from a couple days ago, but didn't like it for that one. So, I fussy cut it out, and then I did like it. LOL. So, I added some Wink of Stella and mounted it on foam squares. I embossed the background with a Sizzix folder and matted that panel with red. That's about it, but I think it may be one of my favorite Christmas cards for this year. (They went out Monday and yesterday.)

December Calendar Page

Well, here it is ... my last calendar page for 2021. The embossed image was part of a folder by Darice. I matted it with gold shiny cardstock. That's it! Time to start on 2023 - unbelievable!

Fancy Fold

I made these cards for our kids and their spouses for under the tree. The finished size is 5 x 6. I got the instructions from Sam Calcott. She calls it a "Multi-Panel Pop-Up" card. Her card was 5 x 7, but that didn't work for me, since my patterned paper was only 6 x 6, so I altered the dimensions. All of the stamping was done with Versamark and embossed with fine detail gold embossing powder. The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio. Most of the stamps are from Inkadinkado.

Same card, same stamps (except the sentiment) but different colored cardstock and different patterned paper.

Simple Sympathy

I needed another sympathy card, and here is the one that I made. The tree stamp and the sentiment are both from Repeat Impressions. I didn't have the right color cardstock for matting, so I used the same dark brown ink that I did the stamping with and ink-blended around the edges of a piece of ivory cardstock and matted with that. The patterned paper is from a matstack from Recollections. I did a tiny bit of coloring with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.

Never-Ending Christmas Card

Finally - here is the Never-Ending Christmas card that I made a few weeks ago. I finally got a video made of it opening up. This one is actually quite easy to make. I got the instructions from Sam Calcott. She has such amazing projects/cards! I didn't really do much for decorating - just a few die cuts and patterned paper. The patterned paper is all from the same matstack from The Paper Studio. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The finished card is 6 x 6 inches.

Here is a video that shows it opening ... and opening.

And here are photos of the other three "pages."

Season's Greetings Sticker

One more Christmas card. I thought this would be my last for the year, but I'll be sharing at least three more. This one is for our oldest grandson and will go under the tree, along with some cash. The sticker came in the mail from a charity. It was part of a beautiful sheet of stickers and I used them all - mostly for simple tags. I placed the sticker on white cardstock and matted it. The strip down the left side was done with my crimper. I happened across it a month or so ago and used it to crimp a strip of white cardstock, which promptly went into my box of stamps and pieces to use SOON. I matted it, also. The snowflakes were die-cut from white and I added light blue ink with a blending brush.

Silver Christmas

And, hopefully our last Christmas card for the year - well, except for ones that I'm making for family members for under the tree. The snowflakes stamp and the sentiment are from Gina K. I embossed them with silver, then sponged ink over the corner and into the middle of the card. I matted with shimmery silver paper. I also added a few Disco Ball sequins.

Simple White Embossed Christmas

We ended up needing three more Christmas cards, so here is one that I made. The embossed background was in my "card parts." I don't know who made the folder. I simply stamped the sentiment (from Gina K Designs) on to the embossed panel, matted it and added it to the card base. I also added some Gina K Disco Ball sequins. I'll have another posted soon, along with my Never-ending card that I promised a while back!

Wishing You a Speedy Recovery

A friend recently had rotator cuff surgery. This is the card I made for him. The tree is from an old Stampin Up! set. I inked it up in green, then used a brown marker to color the trunk and and ground, and a darker green marker to "thump" some extra color on the tree. That panel is matted with green and then mounted on foam squares. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the top part of the bottom layer. I added a strip of the green cardstock between the embossed area and the patterned paper. The sentiment is from Verve. The inside says, "a speedy recovery."

I sure haven't been doing much posting to my blog, for sure - haven't made any new cards. But, my stamping room keeps getting a little bit more organized. And our Christmas shopping is almost done. (We don't have a lot of people to buy for.) And the Christmas cards (80) are all ready to go out except for the Christmas letter. So, I'm feeling pretty good about those things! Maybe we can get decorated for Christmas this week and then sit back, relax and enjoy the holiday season!

Quilt-Like Christmas

I made this cards with scraps that were left on my stamping table. Some time I'll get around to posting a different style of never-ending card that I have finished. The solid green cardstock has some texture to it. I simply added the patterned paper squares to it. The panel is mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from a Gina K set.

I have finally finished my calendars for next year. Yippee!! Now to add the sentiments to the insides of my Christmas cards and get them ready to mail out. Christmas is coming fast, and I really want to be ready!! We'll see how that goes. We've been so busy I have had almost NO time in my stamping room. Maybe soon!

Christmas Embossing Folder - Two Ways

Two Christmas cards using the same Darice embossing folder. This first one is just done normally - and matted with silver. The sentiment strip is from Gina K. I used foil and my laminator on it, and it's popped up on foam squares.

This second one is done with a new technique from Jennifer McGuire that she calls "Filled Embossing Folder." I didn't go back to re-watch the video, but I believe it's simple enough that I did it the same way that she did. I used the embossing folder on blue cardstock. Then I flipped it over and used white embossing paste to fill in the indentations, scraping it off with a special little spatula. Pretty cool! I matted it with white and mounted it on foam squares. The sentiment is from Gina K. This one was black with white letters. I used silver foil on it and mounted it on foam squares also.

Special Birthday

Here is a card I made for a friend. I used this video from Sam Calcott. Except I messed it up! So, please be sure to NOT use the photos from my blog to make this card! However, since I had already cut three pieces of the pretty patterned paper (from The Paper Studio) I just went with it. Basically, mine is backwards. Sam put an extra piece on hers so that it can stand up, but I couldn't do that to mine, since the extra piece would have had to be on the front. I think my friend will like it anyway, and won't know what it's supposed to be like.

The sentiment on the front is from Stampabilities and the inner greeting is from Papertrey Ink. The finished card is 4 x 6 inches.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
