SplitCoastStampers Color Challenge - Two Cards

The colors for the Color Challenge this week on SplitCoastStampers are Pink Pirouette, Real Red and Pear Pizzazz.  I don't have Pear Pizzazz so I used Certainly Celery on this first card and Kiwi Kiss on the second card.

The flower on both cards is from Technique Tuesday's Spiro Garden. For this one, I stamped with Real Red on Pink Pirouette and cut it out. The leaves are punched with an EK Success punch from Certainly Celery. The background is embossed with a QuicKutz embossing folder and matted with Pink Pirouette. Before I embossed, I brayered Pink Pirouette on the folder. You can see it in real life, but it's very hard to see in the picture. It's matted with Pink Pirouette. The sentiment (from PTI's Birthday Basics) is stamped with Certainly Celery and matted on Celery, too. The button is from SU! and I also used grosgrain ribbon.

I had done this card first, but I wasn't real pleased with it - that's why I did the second card:)  However, I'm going to share it with you anyway!  I stamped the flower and leaves (from Technique Tuesday's Spiro Garden set) with Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss and cut them out. I glued the leaves on and mounted on Dimensionals. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions and is stamped with Real Red. I matted with Kiwi Kiss and added some dashed lines with a Pretty in Pink marker. (I know - you can barely see them in the picture.) EDITED TO ADD:  Sorry - I forgot to say that I used the Clean&Simple blog's Fall-To Layout #111 from last week!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  2. Lynette, I saw these two cards yesterday when I was over on SCS! I LOVE that QuicKutz embossing folder you used AND that you used the brayer on it. So delicately colored, but as Sheri said, it really make it "pop". Both beautifully done!

  8. I love these cards and your later ones too. The step card and all your work. I am wondering where you found the embossing folder and also the stamps. When I clicked on Papertrey I just got another page of your blog. Great work!
