Flutter By Wednesday #245 - A Sketch

It's Wednesday, so that means it's time for a new challenge from Danni at the Flutter By Wednesday blog. The challenge this week is another great sketch by Kathy. Check out the details on the blog and also take a look at the wonderful creations by the design team. Follow the sketch - being sure to use a butterfly or a fairy - and link up your projects.

I rotated the sketch so I could use the punch I chose. I punched the holes with the butterflies three times using a McGill punch. I matted with a light tan. The bottom is punched with a Fiskars punch and it's embossed with a Sizzix folder. The base is Papertrey Kraft and the sentiment is from PTI, also. I mounted the purple layer on foam squares.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  2. I like the use of kraft paper, and you did a fantastic job of creating the "holes" for your butterflies. Wonderful card.

Enjoy your visit with Lynette (as I know you will). Kind of envious -- would so like to get together with crafty friends.

  5. That's great, Lynette - I particularly like the dimensional feel, and the way the punched butterflies cast a shadow. Interesting colour combination too - very striking!

Thanks for a lovely comment - I think Dad really enjoyed his birthday! So glad you're enjoying the virtual journey towards our new home. Things are really happening now and it's getting very exciting indeed! Andy (builder) has ordered the kitchen, and we are now talking bathrooms, and it won't be long before the units are installed in my new ARTHaven (once the floor is done) and then I can start putting things out - we're already taking boxes over!!!
