Embossed Butterflies

Edited to add: This embossing folder is from Darice and is called "Butterfly." Thanks to someone on Facebook for sharing my card:)

Two more cards using my new Darice embossing folders. And there are more scheduled:) It was fun to get several at one time and then actually get to use them!

I embossed and then cut down the embossed piece along the top edge. I added pearls to the butterflies. The patterned paper is from Lasting Impressions. I've had it for years. The sentiment is from PSX.
A birthday card using the the same folder. Again, I trimmed it down along the top edge. I used Pink Pirouette cardstock and embossed with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I used Liquid Pearls for the butterfly's bodies. They kind of flattened out, which disappointed me. I also punched a butterfly using a Martha Stewart punch and put it on the left side about in the middle. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I stamped it in black, then cut it out and embossed with a Spellbinders die. I sponged with Pink Pirouette ink before removing from the die. I mounted the sentiment piece on foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  2. Oh, my goodness, Lynette! These are gorgeous! What I've seen of your Darice folders so far is totally amazing! After seeing these I can't imagine why they only had one Darice folder at my local craft store. Maybe all the rest were sold out, because these are awesome! Fabulous cards!

  7. Both cards are just lovely! I really love that you trimmed the embodying folder. Is this a new folder or one you've had for awhile? Do you know the name? I would love to give this a try and will definetly give you credit for the inspiration.

  9. Love your card. I very rarely case other people's designs, but I shared your card on my FB page and asked my customers who would like to make it. It seems that I'm not the only one who loves your card, so I hope you don't mind that I am using it (with a couple of minor changes) in my card class next week. I will be sure to give you credit for the original design. Thanks for the inspiration.

  12. This is so pretty!! Thank you for sharing!! BTW. I live in Central Ohio but my friends moved to MN a few years back and we visited! She lived in Maple Grove!! Such a beautiful place!! It was Thanksgiving week and we pulled in after driving like 13 hours...and it started snowing, there was just something beautiful about it!! Something we noticed while there, the sun shines a lot in the winter, unlike, grey Ohio. We went to a local park and they were blowing snow for cross country skiing!! One morning we woke up and it was just beautiful out!! The sun was shinging and it just looked so pretty!!! Till we went outside!! It was -3 degrees!!! :) haha Thanks again, beautiful card!!
