Die-Cut "Guy" Card

I made this card using one of my new dies. The die is the "squiggle." I used three Copic markers to scribble on some white cardstock, then used my die to cut it out. I cut it again on another piece of white, then put the colored piece into the second die-cut. There were also, I think, five little pieces of white that had to be fit back into the colored part. For the matting, I used the same Copic markers to color around the edge, for matching matting. (Kind of hard to tell in the picture that the matting varies in color from corner to corner.) The sentiment was stamped on a thin strip of white and mounted on foam squares. I used the darkest color of red to color around the very edge of the sentiment. I thought this would make a fine card for a guy, something that I'm lacking in my "stash."

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  2. I love squiggle dies! Don't have a single one, but haven't shopped in what seems like forever. My wish list is getting too long. I can clearly see the graduated colors on the squiggle. Perfect blending! This makes a great guy birthday card!

  3. Great CAS card, Lynette! Is that one of the dies from the Tim Holtz Sizzix "Scribbles and Splat" die set? I own that set, but this looks bigger than the size I thought those dies were. I did an Internet search for "squiggle" dies, since you gave that name, but only a couple of things came up like the Squiggle Egg by Poppystamps and a squiggle border die by My Favorite Things (I think :)). I generally make cards that are larger than the 4.25"x5.5" size that most crafters seem to make so I'm always on the lookout for larger dies. Thanks!!

  4. I looked up that set and can actually get it wholesale so I may just give it a try. It has some fun shapes!!! Love the idea for a masculine card! Thanks for the great idea!

  5. I am so glad you posted this. I just got a die that looks very much like yours and I didn't know what to do with it. Did it come in a set or is it a single die?
