Daisy Die Cut

I made this card using another die cut from my time in Des Moines. It's from Poppystamps/Memory Box - called Floral Stem Collage. The die cuts a single flower, plus the frame with the flower and stem in it. I colored the stem and grasses and the flower with Copic markers. The individual flower is mounted on foam squares and has an enamel dot for the center. I used a piece of blue textured cardstock, embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder, sanded it down and used it to fit behind the daisy. I matted that panel on foam squares.

EDITED TO ADD: The embossing folder that I used is called "Kitchen Weave." It's a 5 x 7 inch folder from Cuttlebug.

EDITED TO ADD ALSO: The cardstock that I embossed with the folder was textured cardstock with a white core/center. After embossing, I used a sanding block to lightly sand it down. The sanding block that I have came from Stampin' Up! several years ago. It's about one inch square and about five inches long. It has a sanding surface on all four sides. I'm sure you can use one designed for other purposes- just make sure to do it lightly.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  2. This is a stupid question, I'm sure... but how do you sand down the textured, embossed cardstock? This card is so cute!

  3. Oooh, pretty! I almost didn't recognize the die as you've used it differently than I've seen. Love the sanded embossed panel in the background. You've colored the flower so perfectly I didn't notice it was part of the frame at first. This has been a very popular die, I believe.
