Black and Cream Anniversary

I got this self-sticking velvet-y "ribbon" from a friend in my stamping group a while ago. I added it to some textured ivory cardstock and added some scored lines with my Scor-Pal. I matted with black and added the sentiment. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I have had subscribers unsubscribe because of "too many updates." To anyone who objects, I apologize, but I already have posts scheduled for the next eleven days! I have been having lots of fun in my stamping room, using up "card parts," and I post all the cards that I make.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  1. Beautiful card, Lynette! Your self-sticking ribbon lace looks very elegant--perfect for an anniversary card.

  2. I thought I recognized that pretty black piece on the card. It's a very attractive card!

  3. I LOVE that ribbon! Gosh, I naturally thought it was a die cut at first, but the ribbon has so much wonderful texture and so easy! Brilliant design for it, too. Gives me ideas for some of my border dies. What? Too many updates? You don't always post every day. I opted not to be notified when people unsubscribe. They have to state a reason and maybe, in fact, they've just started subscribing another way, like Bloglovin' or Feedly or whatever. It's easier to keep track of than emails.

  4. Your score lines are always “the cherry on the top!” I forget to do that on my cards. Maybe this picture will remind me!

  5. To those “unscribers”: It is your loss! We love to see Lynettes’s cards! They are the daybrighteners we all crave!

  6. Pretty card. I have had subscribers unsub because of too few updates. Guess it show that you can't please everyone!

  7. Beautiful card as always. It's unfortunate that those individuals opted to unsubscribe, it's their loss. Whenever I get on the computer, I look forward to seeing your entries. Happy Easter!

  8. At first glance, I thought you had a new border die. Cool "ribbon". Great card!!

As for those who unsubscribe and say "too many posts"... IGNORE THEM!

First of all, when you unsubscribe from some blogs, they don't give very many choices for why you are doing it. None of them usually fit my reasons. LOL! I think you can usually choose "other" on most unsub. pages, but some people would probably rather click something quickly rather than take the time to type in a reason.

Second - Anyone who subscribing to a craft/card blog in the first place should know (I know that's questionable since so many people know so little these days!)that they might be getting a post every day and at times it will be less than that. I subscribe to A LOT of card blogs and they all vary. One of them actually puts out 2 posts every day... now that's A LOT! But, I still have not unsubscribed! LOL!

I find your number of posts to be pretty average. Some weeks you have one nearly every day, and when you are not making as many cards there aren't as many posts. Anyone who complains about that shouldn't be subscribing to blogs at all! They just need to go to the blog when they want and look at the posts there if they are so sensitive about their inbox! LOL! Or maybe they need to do what I did and get a separate e-mail account for their "crafty stuff". What's easier than free e-mail accounts??? I have several e-mail accounts and when I started subscribing to several card blogs and also signing up for craft company promotional e-mails I didn't want all that in my original e-mail inbox, so I set up an e-mail specifically for craft stuff. Since there is not "sensitive" information in that account, I never even sign out so opening it up every morning is as easy as clicking on it in my favorites on my bookmarks bar.

Forgive me for going on and on, but it just annoys me when people are stupid and there's just TOO MUCH of it these days.

So, Lynette... keep making cards and keep posting as often (or as little) as you like! I've been a subscriber to your blog for years and always enjoy your posts. I miss them when you're busy with other things but that's the way life works. It's just a hobby and you should handle your blog the way you choose and not the way some complainer thinks you should.
