"Woven" Anniversary

One night last week, I was either dreaming, half-conscious, or awake during the night and I spent hours working on this card in my head!! I was even doing measurements. When I woke up the next morning, I made a diagram, so I wouldn't forget. It was a horrible night's sleep, but here is the card that came of it. I made slits in the cardstock, embossed it, and then took ribbon and wove it through. The sentiment is several (about five) layers of black cardstock. I matted with black and added it to a white card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  1. I'm sorry you didn't rest as peacefully as you would have liked, but the result is fabulous! What a great idea for a card front. I think I'll give it a try, too. It looks like it was fun to create, and I've got so. much. ribbon. to use up. Thanks for sharing this "dreamy" idea.

  3. Beautiful card, Lynette, worth having a bad night’s sleep for. A very clever idea to use the ribbon with the embossed card.

  4. I've had too many nights like that but, thankfully, not as many these days. Lots of times I'd think about card making because it's happy thoughts that might help me fall asleep. I don't know that I've ever designed a whole card and certainly not had it turn out this fantastic! I LOVE it! What great way to use ribbon. Bravo, Lynette!

  5. I hate those nights when the mind won't settle down and let you get a good night's sleep! How lucky you were to be able to create this card from the idea. What a fun design!
