Today, as usual on Mondays, is Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week day. The SOTW for this week is called Christmas Teddy. You can find him (her?) on this page - just scroll down a little bit. The details on how to purchase this stamp for 50% - through Sunday evening - are on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built. Be sure to check out the other beauties from the design team, also!
For this first card, I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and Goo Gone. I used Liquid Applique for the "fuzz" on his hat, and gold Stickles for the "jingler." I matted with Real Red cardstock, which I embossed partly with my Swiss Dots folder. I added some Martha Stewart ribbon and some older patterned paper for the bottom layer.
I have to admit - after I uploaded my first card to our group's page, I saw some teddy bears with such rich colors that I was moved to make another! For this second one, I colored with Stampin' Up! markers. It's cut with Nestabilities. The background was an embossed piece I got from a friend (Thanks, Suzie!) It's done with a Cuttlebug folder called "Ornaments." I matted with Real Red. The white strip is punched (and embossed) with a Martha Stewart punch. I also scored a couple lines and added a thin piece of red cardstock.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
Lynette, I love those cards! The teddy is such a cute little guy. I like how you "sat" the teddy on the area in the second card but I think I still like the first one the best - maybe because of the colors. That is a great embossed background on the second one!
ReplyDeleteLynette,
ReplyDeleteThese are really wonderful cards. The teddy is so cute and you did a great job coloring him. The layering using embossed pieces makes the perfect card.
What a cute teddy and what wonderful, adorable cards!!
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable, Lynette! I love the fluff on the hat! (And thank you for your email. I need to write you back...)
ReplyDeleteBoth are great cards - I think I like the lighter color of the bear best.
ReplyDeleteLove the coloring on both cards! You have made this bear so special! Really like the embossed background.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are really cute. Can't even pick a favorite!
