Happy Anniversary to Our Daughter

Today is our daughter and son-in-law's tenth anniversary. Gosh, time sure flies, doesn't it?

I cut the bird and swirl with my Cameo Silhouette. I added a small gem for his eye. I stamped the sentiment (from My Sentiments Exactly) with Perfect Plum ink, then embossed with a Sizzix folder. The bird and the matting are Perfect Plum, from Stampin' Up!

Also, as an early anniversary present, their son, Jonah Alexander, arrived yesterday morning! He has an older brother, Andrew, and an older sister, Amelia.

Flutter By Wednesday - a Recipe

This week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is a "recipe." The challenge is to use at least one butterfly, flowers, and a punch or die cut. Fun, huh? We'd love for you to join us. Be sure to check out the creations by the design team on the blog.

For my card, I started with a black and pink butterfly, cut with my Cameo Silhouette. The background is just patterned paper with tiny circles punched with a punch and then black gems in the very center. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! I stamped it with black, cut it out, and then used a pink marker to color the sentiment. The sentiment and butterfly are mounted on Dimensionals.

Cupcake Birthday

I hope you all enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend. We had a very nice weekend. Got some walking done, ran some errands, and had an out-of-town wedding.

Today's card is just a simple birthday. The image (with sentiment) is from Stampin' Up!'s Easy Events. I colored with Copic markers and added Stardust Stickles to the frosting. I cut with a circle Nestability and added doodling around the edge. The matting was cut with my Silhouette. I mounted on Dimensionals. The background is from the very first matstack I ever bought! (from Die Cuts With a View. But, now that I think of it, I may have bought a couple from Sizzix before this one.)

Anniversary Flowers

An anniversary card for friends. It's rare that I make an anniversary card that doesn't say "Happy Anniversary" on the outside, but here is one:)

The stamps are all from a set from Papertrey Ink called Botanical Silhouettes. I used Stampin' Up! In Colors for the stamping - except for the black - and I added white dots to the flowers. The matting is from SU!, also. The patterned paper is from Recollections. I embossed the middle of the bottom layer of matting with a Cuttlebug border folder. I mounted the image panel on Dimensionals.

Happy Memorial Day to my American friends. I hope you are enjoying your long weekend.

Christmas Sunday

I missed last week, but I'm back today with another Christmas card. I'll be linking it up to the Christmas Card Challenge blog as soon as I can - or whenever I remember! LOL! OK. Sorry for the delay. This week's Christmas Card Challenges blog challenge is to use stitching - or just make a Christmas card.

This is quite simple, so I guess it's no surprise that it's one of my favorites so far. Both stamps are from the Stampin' Up! set called Christmas Blessings. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the stamping. I colored with Copics, matted with Real Red and added Diamond Glaze to the berries. That's it!

Another Thank You

I have always liked making Thank You cards, and I figured out why a while ago - because they just need to be "simple" cards. This was before the term "Clean and Simple" started. I have another one to share with you today.

I had die cut the olive piece last week when I was playing with some of my Cuttlebug dies. I glued a piece of white cardstock behind it and stamped the letters using an Image Tree alphabet set. I added black gems to the ends and a dark gray one to the image in between the words. I glued a small piece of black to that layer and mounted the whole thing on Dimensionals.

Thanks!

As promised, I'm using up some pieces I've cut while going through some of my dies.

The "thanks" was cut with a Cuttlebug die from some shiny, textured black. It looked so cool all alone, that I didn't want to add much to it. I matted with a small piece of Real Red that was already cut and in my scraps. The sparkly flower is from Prima. I added a glittery red brad to the center. The card base is vanilla - even though it looks white!

Flutter By Wednesday #241 - A Sketch

This week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is another great sketch by Kathy. You can find the sketch to the left and also on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. Be sure to check out the fabulous creations by the design team - such talent! We'd love to have you join in the fun.

My card uses a digital image from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps called Butterfly and Flower. I colored it with Copics and added Star Dust Stickles to the butterfly. I sponged some Soft Sky ink over the image while I still had it in the Nestability. I matted with black, cutting the matting with another Nestability, and mounted on Dimensionals. The border on the horizontal layer was punched with a Fiskars punch. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Another Cute Little Elephant :)

I've had some time to spend in my stamping room lately, but haven't really gotten much completed. I've had fun, though, going through some little embossing folders and dies. I've cut some pieces and have them ready to use on cards, so hopefully you'll be seeing some of them soon. I did make a Christmas card yesterday, but it was fairly similar to one I'd already made, so I didn't post it.

For this card, I started with the cute little elephant, cut with a small Cuttlebug die. I cut her from textured grey. I mounted her on pink, doodled around the edges, added black gems for her eyes, matted with black and mounted on Dimensionals. The bottom is the same textured grey matted with black. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Embossed Birthday

A clean and simple birthday card for today, with no flowers! Well, unless you count the tiny one on her head:)

I embossed this cute little elephant with a small Cuttlebug folder. I added tiny gems for her eyes and for the flower center. The sentiment is a little one I got from someone once upon a time and I can't tell you who it's from. I stamped it with Real Red ink and added a tiny black gem for the dot on the "i". I matted with Real Red cardstock and mounted on Dimensionals. The embossing was done on ivory and the card base is Papertrey Ink kraft.

Flutter By Wednesday - Buttons

This week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is to use buttons on your creation - plus your butterfly or fairy, of course! The design team has some very wonderful offerings for you - check them out on the blog. Then create your own masterpiece, upload it to your blog or on-line gallery, and link it up to the Flutter By Wednesday blog.

I've had these petals laying around for quite a while, left over from this card. They worked perfectly for today's challenge! I drew the stems and leaves and glued on the petals. Then I added the buttons for the centers. The butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I arched it before stamping and then embossed with white. We'd love to have you join the fun challenge this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Gee - Another Pink Flowery Birthday Card!

It's no secret that I love using flowers on my cards. :) So, here's another one.

The flower image is a digital image from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps. It's called Happy Flowers. I colored it with Copic markers, matted with Old Olive cardstock and mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper is from a Recollections pad. The sentiment is from Papertrey's Birthday Basics set.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Christmas Sunday

My Christmas card for the week. I'm entering it in the Christmas Card Challenge blog. I'll update this with the theme for the week soon. The main challenge, though, is to make a Christmas card.

The three stamps that I used for this card are from a Stampin' Up! set called Bells and Boughs. I stamped them with Versamark and embossed them with gold embossing powder. I colored them with markers. The embossing on the lower left was done with a Cuttlebug folder. I matted with a piece of shimmery gold.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Happy Mother's Day

Here are the two cards I made for our mothers this year. They are basically the same, but different colors and a couple other little changes. The flowers stamp is from Serene Silhouettes from Stampin' Up! I inked it first with Gumball Green and used markers for the flowers and "thumped" some darker green on the grass, stems and leaves. I used an EK Success punch for the border. I added "bling" to the flowers in the sentiment, which is from Verve. The image panel on the first one is mounted on Dimensionals.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

CAS on Sunday Challenge Sketch

I saw a link to a new-to-me challenge called CAS on Sunday. Thanks, Leslie:) I loved the card she made for it and was inspired to give it a try. This week's challenge is a sketch.

I did something I VERY rarely do - I used a colored card base. (I really should do it more often as I have SO much colored cardstock.) The color I used is called Marigold Morning - a retired Stampin' Up! In Color.) The patterned paper is from a Recollections pad. I stamped the flower (from the SU! set called Secret Garden) with Versamark on the Marigold Morning and embossed with white embossing powder. I used the coordinating die to cut it out and I mounted it on a Dimensional. The sentiment (from a Papertrey set) is also embossed with white.

Flutter By Wednesday #239

Today is the start of another Flutter By Wednesday challenge. Many thanks to all who participated in last week's challenge! This week's challenge is the ever-popular "open" challenge - anything goes as long as you include a butterfly or fairy. Please link your creations up to the Flutter By Wednesday blog. You can also find all the wonderful cards by the design team there.

For my card, I used my Cameo Silhouette to cut the flower. I taped my patterned paper to the back and then adhered a piece of white cardstock the same size as the card front over the patterned paper. The sentiment is from a new Stampin' Up! hostess set. I stamped it with Gumball Green and cut it out. The butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I added small gems to the butterfly's body and a tiny gem for the dot over the "i" in the sentiment. The sentiment is mounted on Dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Embossed Birthday

I've had this brad sitting on my stamping table for a long time, and it finally made its way on to a card. I used it for the center of a flower I've also had for a long time. I embossed the background, added the flower and stamped the sentiment - from Papertrey Ink. I matted with Papertrey's Lavender Moon cardstock.

Christmas Sunday

I managed to get a Christmas card done last night. Nothing special, but one more finished.

I used a Cuttlebug border folder for the embossing. It's an oldie but goodie. I matted with a layer of navy. I sponged some navy ink around the side edges and added Star Dust Stickles to the snow. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions. Edited to add: The embossing folder is no longer available. It's from a retired Cuttlebug border set called Winter Borders.

This card is for the Christmas Card Challenge blog. The theme this week is shaped cards, but the main challenge is to just make a Christmas/holiday card.

May Calendar Page

A day late, but here is my calendar page for May. Sure doesn't seem like May weather-wise, but the calendar says it is!

I used a Technique Tuesday set called In Bloom. The inks I used are Stampin' Up!'s Crushed Curry and Color Box Maroon and Olive Pastel chalk inks. I sponged ink around the edges. The patterned paper is from a Recollections pad.

Also, a bit of information for you. When I posted this card, I couldn't remember where I got the image. Thanks to Leslie, I can now tell you where it came from. It came from Alexandra's blog, on this post. Thanks so much, Leslie!

Flutter By Wednesday - Anniversary/Love/Wedding

A new Flutter By Wednesday challenge starts today. In honor of Danni's Anniversary (which is today!), the theme for this week's challenge is Love/Wedding/Anniversary. We are sponsored this week by A Day For Daisies. One lucky participant will receive a $12 gift certificate towards digital images at A Day for Daisies. So, be sure to post your card - including a butterfly or fairy, of course - to your blog or on-line gallery and then link it up to the Flutter By Wednesday post.

The members of the design team were allowed to choose a digital image to work with for today. I chose this cute little Carnation Pixie. I paper-pieced her dress and the flowers. I colored the rest with Copics and added glitter to the wings. I matted with black and mounted on Dimensionals. The papers are all from a Recollections matstack. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
