It Has Begun!

For years I have wanted to start to use all of my Stampin' Up! stamps. I have sets that I have never used. Well, yesterday I started on the project! It will take me a LONG time and the sets are all retired. I will be using other stamps in between, but my plan is to take one stack at a time (about nine or ten sets) and leave them on my table until I have used them all and then get the next stack. I think it will be fun.

These first cards use two sets. One set is shadow stamps and is called "Alpha Shadows." I used each of the four shapes on these four cards. Three of them also use a set called "Birthday Best." Each of the image panels is mounted on foam squares. I paper-pieced the cupcake and frosting on this first card. The candle has Stickles on the flame.
I colored the flower and added a gem for the center.
I colored the balloon and matted with green.
This last card uses the last shadow stamp, and also the first of four using "Bitty Bouquets." The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I'll probably include this card when I do the rest of the "Bitty Bouquet" stamps, too. I paper-pieced the vase and colored the flowers with Copics.

I hope you will enjoy my project. I think that I will!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  1. All of these cards are lovely Lynette. I think it's great that you are using all of your retired SU stamp sets. I like the way that you used the shadow stamps. I recently donated most all of stamps. I look forward to seeing all that you do with the retired stamps. :) I hope your having a great summer so far.

  2. The little background stamps are great behind those tiny designs!!! What a fun idea to stack them on your table and work your way throught them. I have several wood mounted stamps on my table right now that I want to do the same thing. I have thought about doing what you are attempting with my SU sets but I don't know if I'll live long enough!

  4. I need to learn how to color. You, Lynette, do it so well...complete with shading...I wish I had that talent! I do love these cards with the background stamps.

  7. Oh, how exciting! You know, I had plans to do this very thing. I was going to start at the beginning and work my way through, and use all or at least most of the stamps from each set. Then I purged and don't have quite so many sets now, but still a lot. Then, gee, just bought a new set and haven't used the last SU! set I bought yet. You know how it goes. It sounds like so much fun, though! Each of today's cards are so CUTE! I'll enjoy seeing which sets you have. Can I play?

  8. So nice to see someone who enjoys using stamps they already own - even retired stamps! I was an SU hobby demo for a few years and own a TON of SU stamps that I have not yet used. Many of them are not retired yet, but since most stampers seem to always feel the need to have the newest things out there, I often feel that I'm behind the times. I have never started a blog for that very reason. But, I buy stamps that I love, so if I loved them last year or even long before that, odds are I still love them today. And since none of the people I send my cards to are into paper crafting they don't know the difference anyway! :) I look forward to seeing the cards you make as you go through your SU stamps. Maybe you'll spur me on to get moving on all of my SU stash (and also my huge non-SU stash that I have not used yet, as well). It's so easy to buy all the stamping goodies but not so easy to use all of them.
