Die-Cut Happy Birthday

A few days ago, I posted this card using a messed-up printed photo for the background. Today I'm using another scrapped photo. I die-cut the sentiment (from My Favorite Things) from the photo that was printed with cartridges running out of ink. I also cut the sentiment of out cardboard and glued the layers together for a little more dimension. I added it to a piece of turquoise and then matted with tangerine cardstock. The entire card front was covered with a piece from a Die Cuts With a View matstack.

Oval All #4

The last card using the Stampin' Up! set called "Oval All."

I cut the butterfly strip with my Memory Box die from some mottled light blue cardstock and adhered it on the left side of the card base. (Before die-cutting it, I ran the cardstock through my Xyron machine.) I stamped the image in black and colored the butterfly. I added a light blue gem to the butterfly and added gems all around the oval. (The stamp had circles there, so it was easy to place them.) I felt it needed just a little bit more, so I added some hand-doodling around the edges of the mottled blue cardstock.

Oval All #3

The third card made with the Stampin' Up! set called "Oval All."

I've had this textured navy Z-fold card base in my "card parts" for quite a while. It's finally a card! :) I stamped the Just for You stamp with navy ink on a scrap of white cardstock. I embossed the bottom of the panel with a Darice Small Stars folder to match the stars in the stamped image and added a scored line between the embossing and the sentiment with my Scor-Pal. I sponged some navy ink around the edges. I also added a piece of white on the inside for adding a greeting.

Oval All #2

This card uses the second stamp from the Stampin' Up! set called "Oval All." I stamped it with Memento black ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I cut it out and embossed it with a Long Oval Spellbinders Nestability die. The matting was also cut with a Spellbinders die. I added a butterfly which was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and then added a pearl for the body. The sentiment is mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper is from a Recollections matstack.

Oval All #1

The next set in my Stampin' Up! series is the set called "Oval All." For this card, I used the Best Wishes stamp. I stamped it in an old "In Color" called Vintage Violet, matted it with Vintage Violet cardstock and mounted it on foam squares. I cut a piece of patterned paper from Die Cuts With a View and adhered it to a die-cut stitched rectangle and added the sentiment panel to that. The cardbase and sentiment panel are ivory cardstock.

Light Blue and Olive Color Swap

I made this card to accomplish two things. One - our stamping group's monthly color swap colors are light blue and olive green. Check. And two, this set was the next set in my quest to use all of my Stampin' Up! sets.

The SU! set that I used is called Marvelous Morning Glory. It contains ten stamps. Believe it or not, I used nine of them on this card! (Two-step large flowers, two-step buds, two-step leaves, flower "holder," stem, curlicue.) The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I matted with Old Olive.

Painted Garden

Here are two cards using the Stampin' Up! set called "Painted Garden."

For this first one, I used the flower and the stem with leaves. I stamped on a cheap watercolor paper after misting the stamp. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and the patterned cardstock is from Die Cuts With a View. I added an enamel dot for the flower center.

This second card uses the remaining stamps in the set: the two flowers, the stem (again), the swirl for the background, and the butterfly. Again, the sentiment is from My Favorite Things. The card base and image panel are both ivory cardstock.

Paint Prints

Another set done! The set I used for this card is called "Paint Prints." I used all six of the stamps on this one card: two sizes of flowers, leaf, flower center, rectangle shadow stamp and "delight." I matted with black. Done! :)

Happy Second Birthday, Jonah ... and the Card Giveaway

Our second-to-the-youngest grandson, Jonah, will turn two on the 30th. This is the card that I made for him. I am entering it into the QKR Stampede challenge, which is to make a child's birthday card. Great timing:)

I saw this cute little tugboat on the Silhouette pages and thought I should have it. It is mounted on foam squares. I embossed the light blue piece with a Fiskars texture plate. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and is embossed with white. I thought the "2" kind of served double duty!

I'm not sure that everyone who left me a comment on this card wanted a chance to receive it, but I "entered" everyone:) Chosen by random.org, the winner is Comment #1, Nikki Smith. Thanks to all for your comments. Nikki, please contact me with your address and I will get your card in the mail!

Of The Earth #4 and #5

Again I have two cards using the same stamp. It's from the Stampin' Up! set called "Of the Earth." This completes my use of this set.

For this card, I stamped the bird with Brilliance ink. You can't see the shimmer, but it's there:) I added a tiny black gem for the eye. I matted it on a black piece cut with a Spellbinders die and mounted it on foam squares. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.
I used a Kaleidacolor pad to stamp the image on this card. The image is stamped directly on a piece of white cut with the same Spellbinders die as the first card, and is also mounted on foam squares. Same sentiment, too - from My Favorite Things. This little birdie has a blue eye:)

Of The Earth #2 and #3

Using the same stamp on both cards, here are cards #2 and 3 using the Stampin' Up! set called "Of the Earth."

For this first one, I inked up the stamp using markers. I simply colored the butterfly and stems, and I added a darker border around the bottom of the flowers. I embossed the bottom of the image panel using a Darice Wire Fence embossing folder and I scored a couple lines between the image and the embossing. I matted with green and popped up the panel with foam squares. I also added a piece of Washi tape. The sentiment is from a Papertrey set.

For this second card, I also used markers to color the image. I "thumped" another color over the first color for the flowers and the butterfly. I added some decorative scoring with my Scor-Pal.  This panel is also mounted on foam squares, and the sentiment is also from Papertrey.

Of The Earth #1

My next set of Stampin' Up! sets. This one is called "Of the Earth."

I started by inking up one of my new My Favorite Things stamps with a Kaleidocolor ink pad, misted with water and stamped. Then I stamped the image and sentiment in black and matted with olive.

I know that I will never use this card. If anyone is interested in having it, please leave me a comment telling me that. If more than one person is interested, I will do a random draw.

Marvelous Morning Glory #2

This is the second card I've made using the Stampin' Up! set called "Marvelous Morning Glory." You just haven't seen the first one yet:) You will be seeing it soon, as soon as the person it's being mailed to has received it.

The set has ten stamps. I used nine of them on the other card. The only stamp that was left for me to use was this little flower. I stamped the sentiment, from My Favorite Things, and cut it out with a Spellbinders die. Before removing from the die, I sponged a little distress ink around the edges. After removing it from the die, I stamped the flower and added a sparkly white enamel dot. I cut the blue piece using another die from that die set from Spellbinders, matted it with white and mounted on foam squares. The card base was in my "card parts." I believe the bottom edge was cut with another Spellbinders die.

Sorry the picture is a little "wonky." It was hard to photograph, due to its not having a straight edge on the bottom.

Lovely Birthday - and an Update

I finally had a chance to stamp - last week was mighty busy!

I got several My Favorite Things stamps and dies from a friend, and I used some on this card. I die-cut and stamped the rose and stem and leaves. I used foam squares on the rose, the tips of the leaves, and the top of the stem. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and then embossed with a Darice Wire Fence embossing folder. I matted with Old Olive cardstock.

Update on my dad: Unfortunately, he has more cancer:( About 18 years ago, he had prostate cancer and had his prostate removed. That cancer has now come back and has spread to his bones and other places. He will be getting a testosterone blocker shot every three months to try to keep it in check. He will also be getting a one-treatment shot of focused radiation to the top of his spine to halt the cancer there. Hopefully this will give him several more years! Alas - he will not be able to skydive. Much too risky with some brittle bones. We were scheduled to jump over the weekend, but it was postponed again. I'll let you know when our next scheduled date is!

Daisy Thanks

I used the same embossing folder on this card as my last one. For this one, I inked up the folder with my yellow ink and added the brown centers on the folder with a brown marker before embossing. I matted with brown and added brown ribbon. The sentiment is part of a stamp from a Stampin' Up! set. It's actually next in my stack to use, but since it's sentiments, I'm not going to make myself use them all. I stamped this using the same brown marker as the flower centers, sponged the same yellow around the edge before removing from the die (I used Spellbinders dies for the sentiment and its matting) and mounted on foam squares.

Photo Birthday

Believe it or not, the background is a photo I printed from our computer. However. the ink had run out and only yellow was left! I've kept it around for over a year, and finally decided to use it or throw it out. So, here it is! :)

I embossed it with a Darice Daisy folder, and then sanded it down a bit with a sanding block. I had a scrap of vellum that I chose to use. I added Washi tape along the bottom of it and stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) above the tape. I'll have another card using this embossing folder soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Noteworthy #4

My last card using the Stampin' Up! set called "Noteworthy." The stamp from the set is the frame that the sentiment is in. The set also contains the tiny words "bliss" and "baby," which I opted not to use.

The flowers are a SU! stamp and punch that I used at one of our Group Gatherings in Des Moines. I did them on white and colored with Copics. I mounted them in a row on black cardstock. I colored the frame and added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I mounted the sentiment on foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Noteworthy #3

Card #3 with the Stampin' Up! set called "Noteworthy." Maybe for a wedding or anniversary?? The word "love" and the design on the image panel are from the set. I stamped them with Versamark and embossed with detail gold embossing powder. I matted with black and shimmery gold, added some small black gems and mounted on foam squares. I embossed the background with a Darice embossing folder. After embossing, I lightly brayered the raised parts with Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder. I matted that panel with black.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Noteworthy #2

Card #2 using the Stampin' Up! set called "Noteworthy." The flower and the word "friend" are from the set. The "hello" is from a Papertrey set. I inked up the flower with markers - green, pink and purple. I punched the butterfly with a Martha Stewart punch and added a gem for the body. Then I matted with black and mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper is from a very old Sixxix paper stack and I matted that with black, also. The image panel and the card base are ivory.

Noteworty #1

Another step towards using all of my Stampin' Up! sets. This set is called "Noteworthy."

The little sprig/arc of flowers and the sentiment are two of the stamps in this set. I stamped them both using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement onto another rectangle cut with stitched rectangle dies. I colored the flowers with markers and used tiny yellow gems for the flower centers. I mounted that panel on foam squares. The patterned paper is from a Recollections pad.

Happy Mother's Day

Here is the card I made for Jim's mom for Mother's Day.

I used another die-cut piece that I made while visiting friends in Omaha using the stitched rectangles die. Love 'em! I added black and white dotted Washi tape along the border and mounted on foam squares. I stamped the tulips with a Northwoods stamp on a cream and blue "mottled" cardstock. I colored with Tombow markers. I added a little Star Dust Stickles to the butterflies - which you can barely see! The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. Happy Mother's Day to all!

Turquoise and Cream Birthday

I finally had a chance to finish up a card I started on vacation.

I started with a piece of cream/ivory cardstock from which I had die-cut the stitched rectangle. I used a swirly flower and leaf stamp from The Paper Studio to randomly stamp the pattern over the entire piece. I added turquoise gems to the flower centers. I then took a piece of turquoise cardstock and stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) and used a leafy stamp from the same set as the flowers. I mounted the ivory piece on foam squares and attached it to the turquoise piece and added both layers to the ivory card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Celebrate

And yet another card using the stitched dies! I really do love them and am not going to hoard the pieces that I cut in Omaha. :) I can hopefully make more in June. Gosh, that's next month!!! Amazing how time flies.

A very simple card. I cut the rectangle out of a piece of 5.5 x 4.25 white cardstock. I adhered it to the card front. The flower is a dimensional sticker from K&Co. The sentiment is stamped in purple and is from Papertrey Ink.

This card, and the last three before this, were done while we were on vacation in Branson, Missouri. We were there for a week. Had an awesome time, got lots of hiking in, and even a little card-making:) We got home last night about 8:00. Lots of laundry to do today!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Hello

Another card using a Stitched Rectangle die cut. The three stamps I used (flowers, dragonfly, sentiment) are all from the same set from Crafty Secrets. I lightly colored the flowers with Tim Holtz markers. I added flower centers from Martha Stewart and Star Dust Stickles to the dragonfly wings. I matted on a partial piece of black and adhered to the card base.

Birthday Wishes

I started with the rectangular, die-cut piece that I cut with a friend's die when I was in Omaha.

I sponged yellow ink around the edge of it. Then I stamped the flower image from Penny Black. I colored it with Copics. I matted with black. The sentiment is from Scrappy Cat. I added flower centers with a Pearl Pen. The patterned paper is from Recollections.
