I made this card using another die cut from my time in Des Moines. It's from Poppystamps/Memory Box - called Floral Stem Collage. The die cuts a single flower, plus the frame with the flower and stem in it. I colored the stem and grasses and the flower with Copic markers. The individual flower is mounted on foam squares and has an enamel dot for the center. I used a piece of blue textured cardstock, embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder, sanded it down and used it to fit behind the daisy. I matted that panel on foam squares.
EDITED TO ADD: The embossing folder that I used is called "Kitchen Weave." It's a 5 x 7 inch folder from Cuttlebug.
EDITED TO ADD ALSO: The cardstock that I embossed with the folder was textured cardstock with a white core/center. After embossing, I used a sanding block to lightly sand it down. The sanding block that I have came from Stampin' Up! several years ago. It's about one inch square and about five inches long. It has a sanding surface on all four sides. I'm sure you can use one designed for other purposes- just make sure to do it lightly.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
I really love the flower colored and against that blue background! I still have some of those to use so you gave me another idea! :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is a stupid question, I'm sure... but how do you sand down the textured, embossed cardstock? This card is so cute!
ReplyDeleteOooh, pretty! I almost didn't recognize the die as you've used it differently than I've seen. Love the sanded embossed panel in the background. You've colored the flower so perfectly I didn't notice it was part of the frame at first. This has been a very popular die, I believe.
ReplyDeleteLove your card, its awesome.. would you please be able to tell me the name of the embossing folder. I have done a search for it but as yet havent found.. thanks in advance kind regards Hanny - Australia
ReplyDeleteI really like the colors on this card, Lynette! They all go together, yet each one "pops" in its own way! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteA really sweet card. Haven't seen that embossing folder before.
ReplyDeleteYou sure do find some wonderful embossing folders. I enjoy seeing them and always want them! :-)
