For some reason, I like to "up-cycle" thank you notes that we receive. The floral piece on this card was one of those cards. I matted it, added the sentiment, and then popped up a piece of ephemera from a Gina K card kit on it. The striped paper background is from a very ancient matstack - circa 2003!
This is a great idea and a time saver. Especially when you get a card with really pretty paper. I have done it myself a few times, but I like the way you laid out yours. Thank you for sharing. You always have good ideas! Kate C.
ReplyDeleteAnother great card!
ReplyDeleteI love how you re-used a pretty card. You helped save a tree! I like to upcycle thank you notes, too, whenever I can. I also upcycle parts of Christmas cards when possible. I usually make gift tags out of them, but sometimes those card parts find their way to newly-made Christmas cards, too.
ReplyDeleteYup, I've got a few in my card parts drawers, all varieties. Just look how pretty this is. The ephemera is a beautiful match. 2003 is getting up there in years. I still have papers from the 90's when I was scrapbooking. I know! Crazy paper lady!
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing with cards we get. Sometimes they’re just too nice not to use! Beautiful card!
