Bleach-y Background
A while back, I spritzed a piece of dark green cardstock with bleach. This is the result. It's been sitting around for all that time and I finally put it on a card to get rid of it. I cut it down and matted it with black. The sentiment, from Gina K, was heat-embossed. I die-cut the leaves, dabbed them with Versamark ink and heat embossed them, too.

Single Birthday Flower
I had a few of these flowers left on my stamping table from a few weeks ago. I used this one and tossed the others. I also had this cork circle on my table, along with three others of different colors. We put these little cork pads on our cabinet doors so they would close quietly. But, we bought 2000 of them!! I thought maybe I could color them with markers and use them on my cards. I probably won't do that, but here is one, anyway. I also had the little scraps of black and white. And I had the left-over part after cutting a scalloped circle, which I used as a stencil. They all came together to make this card. The sentiment is from Gina K.

60th Birthday
We were invited to a 60th birthday party for our neighbor, and I realized about 45 minutes before we were heading over that we didn't have a card for him! So, this is what I came up with. I already had the stair-step card base cut and ready to go. (If you want to see other stair-step cards that I have made, you can click on the stair-step label at the end of the post.) I usually do some matting on the patterned paper, etc, but I had no time this time!! So, I simply adhered the patterned paper and then trimmed around the edges. That worked just fine and it was so much easier! I die-cut the numbers and the balloons and attached them and added the sentiment.

Many More Patterned Paper Cards
Here are the rest of the cards that I made with my stack of patterned paper that I got free from Michael's. All of the papers (except for the card bases) were from the stack. I used many different companies' stamps to finish up the cards.
I made two of each of these cards except for this first one. I hope you will take a quick glance at them to the end of the post! I started out with 48 12 x 12 sheets and now I have 33 sheets left - mostly smaller prints which are great for cards. I set aside two sheets for a scrapbooking friend. Now I can work on something else when I have time. And, I may have a bit of time this week. It's supposed to be very hot every day!! Yuk! No outdoor activities for me when it's in the 90's!

Patterned Cardstock Cards
I have no idea why, but every once in a while, I get an email from Michael's giving me a five-dollar voucher. It's not because I've earned a "reward," since I don't spend any money there. But, I do like to spend the voucher. We went camping "up north" last weekend, and the mosquitos were HORRIBLE!!! So, we went into town to have some ice cream and get away from the mosquitos. Well, they had a Michael's, so we went there, too. And they had exactly what I was hoping for - a 12 x 12 pad of patterned cardstock for - you guessed it - five dollars! I don't even get charged tax on it, so it's completely free. Can't beat that! So, I have my routine. First I take all the sheets out of tablet form. I sort out the smaller patterned ones and set them aside. I put the ones that need cutting aside and one or two sheets that I know I won't use/can't really cut down, and I set them aside for a scrapbooking friend. Then I cut the sheets apart that need it. Here are six cards that I made using some of the cut-apart pieces. All of the stamped sentiments are from Gina K. All of the papers, including matting and borders, are from the stack that I just got. I made two of each of these cards.
There are a very few sheets that have gold foil on them. I used a thin border piece cut in half for the edges of this card. The "HELLO" was also included. It's popped up on foam squares. You can see the gold better in this photo.

"Topper" Baby Card
This is a simple "topper" card - the cardbase is totally folded across the top of the patterned paper and the circle is placed so it sticks up above the top. I had the circle on my table and found a die that would cut a piece to fit on the circle. Then I used a Nestability die to cut the scalloped matting. I added the white dots on the scallops and decorated the teddy bear with dots and plaid. I added stickers for his eyes and drew in the mouth and nose. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado, and I also added some enamel dots and embossed the white circle.

Snowman Christmas
When I saw this card from Cheryl (Paper Panacea) I accepted the challenge to make one. LOL! This looks like a "topper" card, but the "topper" is actually still connected to the card base. It started out really well, but then I realized a couple things along the way. At any rate, I did get the card made with some modifications along the way. It turned out fine, and now I could make more, using this one as a template.
Here is the inside - I think you can see the score lines. (Two sets of them! Oops!)
The image and sentiment are both from Gina K. I added some "Winter Wonderland" embossing powder to a torn piece of a circle for the "snow."

Simple Birthday - Times Four
I thought it was about time that I used some of my little Cuttlebug embossing folders. So, here are four cards using one of the sets that I have. For each one, I went over the raised images with a sparkle pen. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The image panels are all popped up with foam squares.
On this last one, I got a drop of something on it, so I covered that little drip with some sparkle and added other dots as well.

Wreath Builder Christmas
While looking through my stamp sets, I noticed this little pine branch/bough in one of the Gina K sets. I thought it would work well for using with the wreather bulder template, also from Gina K. I stamped it with two colors in two different directions. Then I added the red circles using two stamps from the wreath builder stamp set. I matted and popped up the image panel. The background was embossed with a Sizzix folder and then matted.

One Embossing Folder - Two Ways
I used the same embossing folder from Altenew for both of these cards. For this first one, I simply covered the flat side of the folder with ink using a brayer beofre embossing. I matted with black, and added a sentiment from Gina K, popped up on foam squares.
For this one, I used the debossed side. I used the coordinating stencils to add color to the image. Then, after adding the color, I used a black ink pad directly on the cardstock. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

Celebrate You
Super simple card for today. These papers were out on my table after some recent card-making, and I thought they looked good together. The striped piece was slightly larger than the width of the card, so the thin strips I cut off worked very well along the flower-patterned piece. The sentiment was in my cards parts. It's from Taylored Expressions and is popped up on foam circles.

Deckled Rectangles
When I cut out the deckled rectangles for the cards I posted recently, I, of course, was left with the actual rectangles! So, here are three of them on this card. I temporarily fastened them down and stamped the image on them. I decided that was much too plain, so I wanted to ink blend over the image. However, I had used Versafine ink, and it was smearing. So, I still used blending brushes, but I pretty much just "tapped" the color on. It turned out okay. Kind of looks a little bit like northern lights. I adhered the three pieces to a piece of white cardstock and then matted with black. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.

An Updated Card
I already shared this card - without the butterflies colored in. I mentioned at the time that it would probably look better if they were colored, so that's what I did. I used Prismacolor pencils for the coloring. I had stamped it with Versafine black ink, so I knew it would smear if I used Copic markers.

Hello
And one more card with this layout. This time I did the main piece in a color. The matted die-cut "hello" was in my card parts and had been out on my desk for me to use for a while. I popped it up on foam squares.

More "Insert" Cards
Six more cards made with a die-cut opening backed with patterned paper. I had fun choosing the papers and the ink colors. These cards are thanks to Wanda.
