Happy May Day! Does anyone else remember making May baskets, filling them with candy, delivering them to the door, ringing the doorbell and then running away so you didn't get a kiss? :-)

So pretty! I absolutely do remember making and delivering May baskets. My favorite person to deliver them to was my dad. He had a restaurant in a small Montana town at that time and I would deliver them to the back door of the restaurant where he was cooking the meals. He would actually take time to chase after me, grab me and give me a kiss. I'm sure it didn't take him more than a couple seconds, but it's a warm, fuzzy memory of him.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty little May garden! I loved making May baskets in school. I don't know if kids still do things like that, but the May baskets are certainly a sweet gesture.
