Mussel Shell Anniversary

This anniversary card is for a good friend of mine from high school.  When we were down in Florida in February, we met up with them, even though they live in Minnesota, too:)  We walked on the beach and had an awesome day of "shelling."  So, I thought this stamp from Repeat Impressions would be appropriate.  This first picture shows the most true color.

I stamped the shells on vellum with Stampin' Up! Basic Black ink.  I used SU! because it has always looked purple to me!  I colored the shells with four different colors of SU! markers and cut them out.  When the ink was pretty dry, I added sparkly embossing powder and heated it.  The sentiment is stamped on PTI Kraft cardstock and embossed with a Fiskars texture plate.  I mounted it on Perfect Plum.  This picture shows the texture.

This picture shows the partial sparkle on the shells.  Happy Anniversary, Inez and Gregg!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

  1. Did you cut the shapes freehand? They are so pretty and make such a personal card for your friend in Florida.
