A simple card using two gifts from friends. How awesome!
At our Group Gathering, a few ladies brought items they wanted to sell or give away. The butterfly punch I used for this card was in the "give-away" pile of Vicki's. Isn't it great? When you punch, the butterfly stays in the circle. After punching three of them in a row, I used a Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the top, and my Scor-Pal to add the lines above and below the butterflies. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Anniversary set called Round and Round. Harriet had earned two of them, and she surprised me totally by giving me one when she came to visit!! What a super friend!! The cardstock and ink are Stampin' Up!'s retired Vintage Violet. I popped the entire violet piece up on Pop Dots.
I also got this teddy bear punch from Vicki, and the sentiment on this card is also from PTI Round and Round. I didn't use Pop Dots on this one. EDITED TO ADD: Based on Suzie's comment, I guess I need to tell you what colors I used for this card! The card base is white, and the punched/embossed piece is a baby blue.
Don't forget - you still have a few more days to take the Repeat Impressions challenge and make a card using Wendy's sketch. A random participant from the June challenges will be selected to win a $25 gift certificate from Repeat Impressions. Come join the fun!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
Good morning, Lynette!
ReplyDeleteI love both of these cards and their punches! The "Welcome Baby" card is so pretty with the pink and gray color combination. I do like the way you used the pop-dots on the first card to give it more dimension. The way you can see the shadow in the butterfly card is very effective. Hugs, Suzie
This is such a great way to use these punches.. I love this.. I have not seen that punch before.. Great job..:) Have a super weekend.
ReplyDeleteI really like the punches and what you have done with them. I have never seen punches that before. Using the embossing folders to both of your cards gives them a lovely touch. :)

I like these a lot! I especially like the way the punched images cast a shadow on the background, and the simplicity of both designs. Very, very effective. Trouble is, more punches required lol! (Must get me a cricut with the software to design your own!)

ReplyDeleteOh how you gave me inspiration!! I have several punches from years ago like this but didn't know what to do with them!! Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the cards, especially the first one!!
Very cool punches! I have some punches that I've just decided NOT to give away! You are once again and inspiration!
