Guy Card

I was looking through my "stash" of cards for March and April and realized that I had no cards very suitable for men, nor did I have any anniversary cards! So, I had to get busy yesterday afternoon and make a few. Here is the birthday card. I used a die-cut frame from my card parts that I've had out for a while. (I have two more frames that I need to use up, also.) The papers were from a matstack from The Paper Studio. I found a matching ink (from Altenew) and used a Gina K stamp for the sentiment, which is die-cut and popped up on foam squares.

Anniversary Thank Yous

We requested donations to local food shelves and a child food program instead of gifts for us for our anniversary, so I'm expecting to need several thank you cards. I made 35 of these. I hope I need more! The paper is from Recollections. The sentiment on this first one is from Verve. The sentiment on the second one is from The Paper Studio. Simple, but I like the layout and I based this card on a previous one I had made. The panels are popped up on foam squares.

Patterned Paper Christmas

The sentiment was from my card parts. I believe it was done with an ink cube direct to paper and probably a Papertrey Ink stamp. I simply mounted it on foam squares and added it to a cardbase covered with patterned paper from The Paper Studio.

Cards for Baby

This teddy bear was another stamp that I kept from the stamps that were given to me. I did finally get the rest all given away. I used three different sets of colors for them. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The panels are matted and mounted on foam squares. These first two use an Anna Griffen/Cuttlebug folder and the last one uses a Paper Studio folder.

Happy Independence Day to my American blog readers! Have a safe and happy holiday.

This silver-embossed "HELLO" has been matted and in my card parts for years. It's matted with silver and mounted on foam squares. I think it might be from Papertrey Ink. I embossed a piece of light brown cardstock with a Paper Studio folder and then used white pigment ink to rub over the embossed surface. I used a kraft cardbase.

Pink and Purple Butterfly

This patterned paper oval (paper from The Paper Studio) has been sitting on my table for quite a while, too, and I was happy to use it up. No more parts on my table - at least for a little bit, anyway! I cut a mat for it using a Nestabilities die. I stenciled the background. I stamped the sentiment directly on the background, but managed to mess it up, so I had to stamp on a strip of white and add it over the messed-up stamping. I added color to the die-cut butterfly and popped up the wings with foam squares.

Multiple Sympathy

A friend in my on-line stamping group recently lost her mother. This is the card that I made for her. I had made the background while trying out a technique that really didn't work for me, but I did love the resulting piece, nonetheless. I stamped in black and added black matting. The image stamps are from a set from Inkadinkado and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

As I said previously, most non-stampers don't even realize that we make our own backgrounds, so why not use patterned paper. So, I put the stamps back on my MISTI a few days after I made the original card and made these six cards using patterned paper.

Birthday Stripes

A simple birthday card for a guy - actually for one of my brothers-in-law. I had the thin black border piece laying around for a while. (The others have been filed.) I used the same die to cut the bottom edge of my patterned paper from The Paper Studio. The stripes are actually black and silver, kind of holographic. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I think I'll make a few more of this one.

Slide and Lock Christmas

Another card using a technique I saw on the blog of Karen Titus. Here is a link to the video of it. This is a standard gatefold card. But, the circle piece slides on and off and holds the card closed. I used a smaller sliding piece than Karen did. Also, I used thin paper for the inner circles. When I used cardstock, I felt the gap between the two sides was too large.

The paper is all from The Paper Studio. The snowflake, sentiment and circles were all cut with dies. Quite a simple card, actually.

Simple Sympathy and Thank You

I stopped at Hobby Lobby the other day and picked up some much-needed patterned paper. LOL! I couldn't resist it, though, at 50% off. The stack I got is from The Paper Studio. I added it to black cardstock and put white on the bottom. The sentiments were both cut with dies. Super simple.

Simple Thinking of You

I stamped this "Thinking of you" sentiment last week while working on another card. It was the wrong size for that card and I, of course, couldn't throw it away:) It was stamped in my favorite brown - Soft Suede. (The stamp and ink are both from Stampin' Up! and likely both retired.) The flowered paper is from a matstack from The Paper Studio and the bottom layer of patterned cardstock is from an old matstack by Recollections. I do believe that is my last sheet from that stack - possibly the only matstack I have even come close to using up!! (Actually, now that I think of it, I think I may have one more sheet.)

Sentiment Splits

I had access to so many dies and stamps last week - it was so fun! We don't bring quite as much "stuff" as we used to, but there is still a lot:) These cards were done using stamp and die sets from Papertrey Ink called "Sentiment Splits."

This first one is done with ivory cardstock and patterned paper from The Paper Studio. I also matted each piece.

For this second card, I added a butterfly using the same patterned paper and a Memory Box die. I cut another butterfly out of white cardstock to glue the blue one on to, for added thickness.

This card is done with ivory cardstock as the base. The sentiment is from Bo Bunny. I added a flower that I cut using one of my new dies from textured paper which I sanded after cutting and embossing, and added an enamel dot to the flower center. The entire panel is mounted on foam squares.

Tiny Birthday Flowers

A card using scraps - not even "card parts!" The white rectangle and the little black squares were left over from die-cuts and were sitting on my table. I told myself I either had to use them or throw them away, so here they are. To each black square, I added a small flower from The Paper Studio. The sentiment is from Stampabilities. I added some Washi tape underneath. It matches better "in real life." I did my matting with black.

Halloween Bat

Another Halloween card for the grandkids. 

As with yesterday's card, I used the owl punch from Stampin' Up! for this card. My friend Bonnie saw this card on Pinterest and wanted to recreate it. I thought it was cute, too, and made this card. The bat is the owl punch. The wings are a long oval Nestability cut in half and then cut with a circle punch. The branch is also an SU! punch. I sponged white ink lightly on all of the edges. I added googlie eyes and mounted the bat on foam squares. I punched the moon with a circle punch and sponged orange ink around the edges. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. I used an orange marker to color it. For the background, I used a Paper Studio embossing folder, brayered white ink on it, and then used it on a piece of black cardstock. I used orange cardstock for the matting.

Patterned Paper???

Looky here - I used patterned paper! LOL! I got this matstack of lovely patterns, so I thought I should at least use a few sheets before I put it away. It's from The Paper Studio.

The stamps I used for this card are from a Gina K set called "Vogue Vases." I stamped the vase on the patterned paper and cut it out. I stamped the flowers on the white cardstock and then added the vase. I first inked up the stamp with the green ink, then used a black marker to ink the flower outlines on the stamp. I colored the flowers with Copics and added gems for the centers. I matted that piece with brown cardstock and mounted on foam squares. I used the same cardstock, matted with the same brown, for the bottom panel. I used a different pattern to cover the whole cardfront.

Terrific Tags #1

I finally got a couple more cards done for my Stampin' Up! "mission" - to use all of my SU! sets. I thought I started it last August, but it was actually July 24. I'm not quite half done, so I have a long ways to go.

The set I've used for today's card is called "Terrific Tags." I will be using three of the six stamps. I stamped the birthday tag stamp using Soft Suede ink. I punched it out and punched out the coordinating background - using SU punches. I embossed the background using one of my new Paper Studio embossing folders. I used a textured blue cardstock and sanded it down lightly. I added a strip of Soft Suede cardstock - with a line scored on it - and also matted the blue layer with Soft Suede.

Happy Halloween

 A couple quick Halloween cards for the grandkids. I also made another one like I had made previously. Since they're for two families, I can go with duplicates:)

This first one is for our one granddaughter. I used House Mouse stamps from The Paper Studio. I stamped the image with Memento black ink and colored with copics. I matted with black, mounted on foam squares and added Stardust Stickles to the wings. I colored the sentiment with markers.

I used a Stampin' Up! stamp and SU punches for this tag. I colored the spider and added googlie eyes and mounted on foam squares. The patterned papers are from a Recollections pad.

Elegant Birthday

I made a wedding card on Saturday (for the wedding later that day!), took pictures of it, and then on Sunday morning I accidentally deleted them. (I was cleaning off the memory card, and I just automatically deleted all the uncropped card pictures, because those are the ones I don't need. Oops, I hadn't cropped them yet!) That didn't make me happy, as I liked the card and also because I finally had something to post. Oh well, worse things could happen, for sure!!

After a very busy Sunday, I made this card last evening. The die-cut matting was sitting on my desk, along with the square of silver for it. So, I just needed to cut a white square for on top of the silver and stamp something on it. Both stamps I used are from Technique Tuesday. I stamped the swirl with Memories Soft Silver and the sentiment with black. I added some red gems and mounted on Pop Dots. The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio and is matted with silver and black.

Gosh, we've had lots going on! I think maybe tomorrow I'll do a personal post, telling what we've been up to and why I haven't had any time to stamp. Sure was fun to have some time last night, though. Shoot - when I went to publish this post, I found out that I DID have a card to share yesterday for Christmas Sunday! I guess you'll get it next week, instead.

Same Image - Two Black and White Cards

This cute bicycle with flowers image was also from my stamping group friend, Annie. She embossed the image with white after stamping on black. I matted both with red cardstock. For this first one, I used a couple scraps of patterned paper from a The Paper Studio black and white matstack, which I matted with black. I mounted the image on foam squares. The butterfly was in a bag of bows and butterflies from another stamping group member, Andrea. Thanks, Andrea!

For this second one, I used a larger piece of black to mat the other layers with. I added a sentiment in white (from Papertrey Ink) and a sparkly black flower with a white brad center. The patterned paper is from the same matstack as the first card.

Black and White Wedding

This is another "card parts" card. In my box was this stair-step card base. I had mis-cut it and one of the sides was wider than the other. I just cut the wider end down to make them even. So, this card is not quite "normal" size - but close.


The patterned paper is from a pad from The Paper Studio. The stamps are from Inkadinkado. The flower is from Prima. A rather elegant card, I think.
