Christmas Tree in Red

Well, MAYBE this one will be my last Christmas card for a while! (That makes 21 for next year.)This is the last of the pieces on my table. I can't figure out why I had so many! This one is a bookbinder style card. The red panel was embossed with a Sizzix folder. The sentiment is from Gina K. The die is from Taylored Expressions.

Today starts Gina K's 12 Days of Christmas. I bought the box and I'm looking forward to opening one package every day until December 23rd and seeing what's in there and maybe using each item on the day it's opened.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Sending Joy

Two more Christmas cards for next year.  I saw this layout on Wanda's blog and I thought it was so pretty I had to make a couple, even though I didn't have time. They were quick, though!

The tree die is from Taylored Expressions. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I made one with a white base and tree and one with an ivory base and tree. I sponged a little bit of green on the ivory tree. I also embossed the first sentiment with a bit of sparkly embossing powder.

More Simple Christmas

This card is made using a die from the same Taylored Expressions die set I used for yesterday's cards. I made four of this one. The sentiment is from PaperTrey.

This card uses the same die, multiple times. The sentiment is foiled and is from Gina K.

Multiple Christmas Cards

I went to a local stamping store because they had some products on clearance for 60% off. This was a three die-set from Taylored Expressions. I thought they were fun. I made ten cards with these two dies. I will post the other design soon. The sentiment is from PaperTrey. I added a few dots with Nuvo Drops.

Purple Greetings

My friend, Cheryl (Paper Panacea) brought over these dies for me to use last week. I made three cards with this flower. I added a little bit of color brushed over each of them, so they are all slightly different. Some petals are popped up, as well as the leaves. The backgrounds were embossed with folders that Cheryl brought, also. The first and third sentiments are from Taylored Expressions and the middle one is from Gina K - foiled.

For this third one, I added just a tinge of purple on the embossed background.

Fun With a Friend

I had a friend over to play on Friday, and here are three cards that I made. Nothing different - I've probably had cards nearly identical to each of these - but here they are, anyway. This first one has one of my favorite flowers and leaves - from Taylored Expressions. The flower and leaves had been stamped, colored and die-cut a little while ago. I had two sets, so I made two of these cards. The sentiment is from Gina K. I added a thin gold metallic strip sticker beside the patterned paper. The flower itself and the sentiment are mounted on foam squares.

This one was done with a Gina K stencil set. The sentiment is die-cut, along with its shadow. The sentiment is popped up.

For this one, I just used the ink that was already on my blending brushes for the coloring. Then I used a black ink pad to rub over the de-bossed side (that I had colored on.) The sentiment had been die-cut and I added a few more layers to it.

It was a fun day with Bonnie - hi there! :-)

Ancient Vellum

When I first started stamping back in about 2002, there was a dollar store fairly close to me (close enough for it to be worthwhile to drive there!) that had lots of card-making supplies. I used to buy 8 1/2 x 11 inch booklets of paper from Fiskars for $1.00. Some of these booklets had vellum with printed paper that coordinated with it. At some point, I separated them. Not sure if I still have the patterned paper or not! At any rate, I used up some of the vellum on these cards.

For this first one, i first glued a piece of purple cardstock on the cardfront and then added the vellum over that. I decided to use one of the Taylored Expressions flowers that I just love, and also a pre-stamped and die-cut sentiment from Gina K.

These two cards were made from one sheet of the vellum. I added some tannish paper underneath it. I stamped the sentiment and then used clear embossing powder on it.

These four cards were made from a single sheet of the vellum. Since the leaves and their placement is different on each one, I thought I'd share them all. The sentiment is from Gina K. I didn't emboss these - I just let them dry.

Single Flower Hello

This die-cut scalloped oval was in my pad of patterned paper, already cut out. I then had to use it. Right away I thought of this set from Taylored Expressions. I really do love the simple flowers and leaves in this set! I believe the foiled and die-cut sentiment is from Gina K.

Stenciled Sentiments

As promised, here are the other two sentiments that were created with a Taylored Expressions stencil set. This piece of patterned paper with the opening already cut in it seemed perfect for the sentiment. I added a few layers to pop up the die-cut.

I added extra layers to this sentiment, too, and added it to a piece of ancient patterned paper. As sometimes happens with photos - this matches better in real life.

Hey

The stencil set that I used for the "Hey" is from Taylored Expressions, and was included in the card class that I took last fall. There are two other words that are made at the same time - "HOORAY!" and "just a note." Hopefully you will be seeing them soon so that they don't just sit on my table for ages. The radiating lines are a part of the "Hey" stenciling. The dies were included with the set. I used the die to cut the "Hey" out of the middle, then cut several more layers to pop it up before inserting it back into the radiating lines piece, which I had cut out with a circle die. I used a Darice embossing folder on the turquoise matting background.

More Taylored Expressions Flowers

Here are the last two flowers from Taylored Expressions. Again, the sentiments are from Gina K. For these two cards I used pieces from my card parts - the embossed panel on this first card and the die-cut panel on the second.

Taylored Expressions Flowers

I really love these flower and leaves stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions, so I stamped, die-cut and colored several of them. Here are four of the cards I made with them. Two more of them to come tomorrow. The sentiments are all from Gina K. Some are stamped directly on the card and some are die-cut and popped up. I used the thin, metallic stickers between the white panel and the patterned papers.

Eighteenth Anniversary

Today is our son and daughter-in-law's 18th anniversary, and here is the card that I made for them. It's a design by Gina K, and the stencil and sentiment are by Gina K, also. The flowers are from Taylored Expressions.

SCT Classes - Taylored Epressions

These cards are from my Crop and Create Delivered card class from Scrapbook and Cards Today (SCT). I am not even half done with the classes, but I may not get to them until after Christmas!! For now, I will share eventually what I have finished.

These cards are from Taylored Expressions. The sentiments were done at the same time, using four stencils. Kind of cool. I pretty much followed the instructions for the cards exactly. The last card is a shaker card.

One Embossing Folder - Two Ways

I used the same embossing folder from Altenew for both of these cards. For this first one, I simply covered the flat side of the folder with ink using a brayer beofre embossing. I matted with black, and added a sentiment from Gina K, popped up on foam squares.
For this one, I used the debossed side. I used the coordinating stencils to add color to the image. Then, after adding the color, I used a black ink pad directly on the cardstock. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

Celebrate You

Super simple card for today. These papers were out on my table after some recent card-making, and I thought they looked good together. The striped piece was slightly larger than the width of the card, so the thin strips I cut off worked very well along the flower-patterned piece. The sentiment was in my cards parts. It's from Taylored Expressions and is popped up on foam circles.

Sending Hugs

I came across these dies a couple days ago and wondered why I hadn't used them for a long time. I remember that I HAD to have them. I cut out the flowers from patterned paper and the leafy section from green. Then I colored the leaves with a Copic marker and added the patterned flowers to the green piece. The rectangular background is a die-cut piece from my card parts book. The sentiment was in my parts, too, and is from Taylored Expressions and mounted on foam squares.

Simple Flowers

Remember when I got some stamp sets from a friend - back in March? Well, one of the sets was these flower stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions. I made these up shortly after getting the set and now I have used them up. I had stamped them with black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder - or maybe black. I don't remember. I colored them with Copic markers and die-cut them. The sentiment stamps are mostly from Papertrey Ink, but the Mother's Day one is from Verve. I used the same patterned paper on each of them and added thin black strips along the sides. I used up a full half-sheet of a 12x12 piece of patterned paper! LOL! Only about 10000 to go! Or maybe more??

Watercolor By Wyatt

We picked Wyatt, our youngest grandchild, up from school a couple weeks ago, and he gave me this artwork that he had done - the watercolored background. I asked him if I could use it to make a card. At first he hesitated, and then he said it would be okay. So, here is it. I cut it down and matted it using Waffle Flower dies. I stamped the image with a Gina K stamp and used a die-cut sentiment from my card parts. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and is from a set that I got from my friend in March. It's popped up on foam squares.
