Double Daisies - and a Sunshine Award!

   I have two cards to share with you again today.  They both use Papertrey Ink's sets called Floral Frenzy (the daisies) and Around and About Sentiments.  And please be sure to read to the end of this relatively short post for an "award" I received and am sharing. :)

   I made this card for SplitCoastStampers Color Challenge #268 - Barely Banana, Ballet Blue and Old Olive.  I brayered Barely Banana on an Ellison texture plate before embossing the background. The main image panel and sentiment are mounted on Pop Dots.

   This one was made from leftovers from the first card.  I did this image panel first, but didn't like it as much with the blue matting, so I set it aside.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the Kraft (from PTI) cardstock and scored double lines on both sides of it.  It looked a little bare on the bottom left, so I added a little Martha Stewart daisy sticker.  In real life, it improved it.  In the picture, I think it looks out of place!

Two Glitter Cards

   Just a card for no reason. :)  But, actually, I'm linking it up to the CAS-tastic challenge, which you can find here.  Even though it's a little detailed, I think the overall effect is "Clean and Simple."

   I used a brass stencil by Anna Griffin for the rose.  I used double-sided sticky paper and Martha Stewart glitter.  It's matted on purple cardstock, which was punched with an SU! border punch and embossed with my Scor-Pal.  I used a Sizzix (actually it says "Ellison."  Same thing!)  texture plate to emboss the white matting layer.   The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink, and is cut with a Spellbinders tag die.  All those layers are then mounted on the card base.

   This second card uses a small brass stencil by Dreamweavers and the same technique.  I very carefully added the different colors of glitter to the stencil.  The background paper is from a pack I got at Costco a while back.  The middle layer is a shimmery copper paper which I embossed with a Fiskars texture plate.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is embossed with black detail embossing powder.

"Two-Fer" Day

I actually have eight cards made that I have not shared on my blog - amazing!  It's been fun having time to get some cards made.  Because I have several to share, I think I'll give you two today:)

This first one was made for the Clean and Simple (CAS) challenge for this week on SplitCoastStampers.  The challenge was to use teal, white, and one other color.  My "other color" was black.  I got some Sizzix texture plates a while ago at a local paper store and hadn't used them yet.  I finally used the heart one (see below) and still had it out on my table, so I used the reverse side for these flowers.  The paper I used is textured paper I got in a scrap pack quite a while ago from Target.  I matted it with Basic Black from Stampin' Up!  The flowers are from a bottle of Primas from Michael's and I used a black brad for the center.  The sentiment is from Gina K's Elegant Post set and is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Just a simple Valentine's Day card for this second one.  As I said above, the embossing is done with a Sizzix texture plate.  I used Real Red cardstock.  The ribbon is Christmas ribbon from Martha Stewart.  Works for me!  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado, and the card base is from a box of textured cards from Die Cuts With a View.
