Friendship

I cut the leafy border on this card with another die that a friend brought over. I cut an oval to fit behind it. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker. My friend also brought over some Brushos, which I had never used before - fun! I used a small part of my experimental piece to cut the flowers out using a die. I added enamel dots to the centers. I embossed the background piece with an embossing folder from Stampin' Up! by Sizzix and matted with black. The sentiment panel is mounted on foam squares.

Rubbernecker Stamp - Times Three

I used the same Rubbernecker stamp on these three cards, and also the same markers to color it. Not a big difference between the three, but you get them all here, anyway:)

For this first one, I just stamped the image on ivory cardstock after coloring with markers. I matted it with blue cardstock. I embossed the image with a Darice Wire Fence folder. The sentiment was cut with a die three times and layered for dimension.

This was the second stamping of the image after spritzing the colored image with water. I matted with olive cardstock and cut the "hello" out of the same cardstock. It is layered, also. (I ended up not using the first stamping.)

This image was spritzed, also, and stamped on watercolor cardstock. I used the same Darice folder to emboss it. I used a metallic pen to draw the border around the edge. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set. I cut it and the matting with Nestabilities. I colored the scallops with the same metallic pen.

Penny Black Flowers

For these cards, I used a friend's new Penny Black stamp. I believe it is called "Flower Lanterns." I inked the stamp up with distress markers and spritzed with water. I used the stamp three times for each coloring. All of these cards measure 4.5 x 6.25 inches. I didn't want to cut off any of the pretty flower! 

I used a die-cut hello on this first one. I cut it out several times and stacked them, for added dimension.

The sentiment on this second one is from Papertrey Ink.

Congrats

I've been having quite a bit of time in my stamping room lately, and I love it! I've been going through card parts, stickers, etc. and pulling things out to use soon. I have several of these wonderful frames by Rubbernecker stamped and ready to use. (Thanks, Vicki!) So, here is one done:)

The sentiment was previously done using a Darice die. I thought it looked nice with the stamped frame. Hmmm ... what else to put on it? Oh! I've got some Penny Black stickers that I bought last summer in Des Moines at our Group Gathering. I bet one of them would work nicely. I trimmed it down and matted it with black. The butterfly is from the same sticker set.

This is the card I made for my friend, Vicki, whose birthday was yesterday. Hope you had a great day, Vicki!

The flowers and leaves were done with dies at our Group Gathering in June and also last year. The frame was stamped with a Rubbernecker stamp. (I love the frame! Thanks for letting me use your stamp, Vicki! :) ) I added the sentiment, which is from Papertrey Ink. I cut the stamp into two pieces to allow me to fit the space better. I matted with black and added it to the card front.

Subtle Sympathy

I got this branch stamp by Rubbernecker from my friend, Kris, at our Group Gathering in Des Moines last month. Here is how this card "came to be."

The stamp was sitting on my table, waiting to be used. The card base was also sitting on my table. It had "THANK YOU" stamped on it. Time to use them! I want to make use of my Stitched Rectangle dies, so I cut a piece of ivory (to match the card base) with the largest one. That was big enough to cover the previously-stamped sentiment. OK. How could I use this branch? Well, on a sponged background, of course:) So, I cut an oval out of a piece of scratch paper. I used distress ink to sponge around the inside of the oval. Then I left the mask on and stamped the branch three times. I couldn't have had them line up this well if I had tried - really hard! The first time I stamped was the image on the right. The second time I stamped was the center branch. It didn't reach the bottom, but I would figure out what to do about that soon. The third time I randomly stamped the branch, it lined up perfectly over the center one. How awesome was that! I finshed the card by stamping with a darker brown (my favorite, Soft Suede) using a stamp from Kaisercraft. And that is the story of this card!

Rubbernecker Rose

These two cards use the same Rubbernecker rose stamp. Both were stamped with Versamark. I used detail gold embossing powder for this first one. I used Zig Clean Color Real brush markers to color. (I had never heard of them until I was in Des Moines last week.) After I was done coloring the rose, I sponged with light blue ink and cut out the panel using a Memory Box Stitched Rectangle die. The sentiment is from Gina K and is also embossed with gold.

For this second one, I embossed with white embossing powder. I colored with Copic markers and again sponged around - this time in mostly an oval. I simply matted with matching cardstock. Maybe I'll add a sentiment later ... and maybe I won't! :)

Simple Anniversary

Vicki brought these Rubbernecker stamps (OOPS! I guess the sentiment is by Endless Creations) to our Group Gathering, and Kris and Georgia came up with this layout. I just CASE'd it. So simple and lovely. I first stamped the sentiment, then inked up the rose stamp, stamped it off once on scratch paper, then stamped over the sentiment. I matted with matching cardstock.

Bright Friendship

A "just because" card. I just happened to run across this stamp given to me by a friend and it popped on to a card. I've had the pink piece on my table for a few weeks. I embossed it on textured cardstock with a Darice folder and then sanded it down so the white core showed. I matted it with black. I wanted something different, so I used the turquoise textured for the background. Both pieces are from a "Bright" matstack from Die Cuts With a View. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. It's from Rubbernecker.

Lovely Flowers ... and Our Group Gathering

More card parts. I've been having so much fun with them - and you'll be seeing many more!

These flowers were stamped with Rubbernecker stamps a couple years ago. I had a smudge on them, so I trimmed them down very near the image and cut a mat to go around them. They are mounted on foam squares. The stamped and embossed white piece (Darice Wire Fence) was also in my card parts, as was the very thin piece of green. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

We had our ninth annual "Group Gathering" in Des Moines last weekend. Oh, such an awesome time we have! From left to right: Vicki, me, Kris, Terri, Harriet, Georgia and Sheri. We meet on Sunday in Ankeny, Iowa at Applebee's for lunch and then head over to Memory Bound, then perhaps to Michael's and/or JoAnn's. Then to our hotel and then the Machine Shed for dinner. Monday and Tuesday we spend at Outstamping Designs/Heirlooms by Design in Valley Junction. Harriet comes home with me for a couple days, too! We were so productive this year! Can't wait for next year!

Penny Black Stickers - Eight Cards

I've had two packages of Penny Black stickers for a few years now. Just before my mom went into the hospital, I was supposed to have the week off from babysitting. This is what I had started on - using up those stickers. It's been on hold for nearly three months, but I finished them off. You get all of them in one day, since they are all relatively similar. I will briefly comment on each of them.

The stamp on this first one is from Rubbernecker. I stamped and matted with Midnight Muse ink and cardstock.

 The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Flowers and Friends

More Rubbernecker flowers:) I think it's about time to quick posting them, but believe me, I have more! I believe the sentiment is from Rubbernecker, also, but I'm not sure. I matted the image panel with black. I had added the pink piece on the bottom, then realized that the swirl piece fit perfectly. It also came from my "card parts" - cut with a Memory Box die last summer. This card was sent to Leslie. She commented on the swirls on an earlier card I posted and she is a true artist when it comes to all cards, and coloring in particular. So, this card with the swirls and the sentiment mentioning color - it had to be for Leslie.

Washi Tape Birthday

More Rubbernecker flowers - prestamped last summer. I trimmed the panel down and matted with black. I added Washi tape along the top and bottom. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I actually CUT the stamp into two pieces so I could stamp it in two lines! Unbelievable:)

Another stamped image from my "stash." I stamped this image last June at our Group Gathering. I believe the image is a set from Rubbernecker. I also believe I used markers to color the layers. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I added strips of magenta cardstock to trim out the bottom and left side.

Here is the anniversary card I made for a friend in my stamping group. I thought it was appropriate that I used an image I stamped while I was at our Group Gathering. Nancy wasn't there, but now she can see something from there:)
