A birthday card for a guy. The tree stamp is from Stampabilities. I first inked it up with Wild Wasabi ink from Stampin' Up!. I wiped the green off of the trunk and colored it with a Close to Cocoa marker. Then I "thumped" the rest of the tree with an Always Artichoke maker and stamped it on vanilla cardstock. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and inked up with the Close to Cocoa marker. I matted with Soft Suede cardstock. The card base is Kraft from Paptertrey Ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
A place for me to share the cards I create, and maybe a few other things, too!

"Christmas Sunday"
Another Sunday, another Christmas card:) I kind of like this card and I kind of don't, but you get to see it anyway. I'm entering it in the Christmas Card Challenge, too.
This is all one stamp. I don't think I've ever used it before and I don't think I'll use it again! LOL! It's by Stamps Happen and I believe I got it clearance several years ago at Michael's. I stamped the image on white with Memento Tuxedo Black. I stamped the center section on green paper and cut it out. I colored the top and bottom sections with Copic markers. (That tree was not fun to color, hence my reason for not using the stamp again.) I cut the entire image panel close to the edges and matted with the same green paper as the middle section. As a last step, I covered the green section with "sticky" using my Xyron machine before adhering to the image panel, then after putting it in place, I sprinkled it with ultra-fine glitter. Shoot - little did I know that you wouldn't be able to see the stamping under it! Oh well. I do love the sparkle. (It says "Merry Christmas" over and over and over on it.)
As this is posting, I'll about be on my way home from Atlanta. I went down with my mom and dad to visit a brother and sister that live there, and our brother from Colorado came, too. I'm sure I've had a great time, but I'm writing this before I even left. LOL! I can give more details tomorrow.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Simple Sympathy
Just a simple sympathy card for today. The flower stamp is from a set from Gina K. I used some water color crayons directly on the stamp and then misted with water. I stamped the image on slightly textured ivory paper. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions. The matting is Always Artichoke from Stampin' up! The card base is Very Vanilla.

Technique Tuesday Birthday
A rather elegant birthday card, I think. The flower stem, flower and bee are all from Technique Tuesday. I colored with Copic markers and added Stickles to the bee's wings. The sentiment is from TPC Studio. The edge was punched with an EK Success border punch.

Same Stamp - Different Orientation
I had some "extra" time to stamp last week and created these two cards. When I was cleaning up and putting some stamps away, I came across this grid stamp from Northwoods. I know I've had it for several years, but I don't think I had ever used it. Now I have:) I made these two cards which are very similar, but different enough that you get to see them both.
For the card above, I went with green flowers and matting. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the sentiment directly on the grid like the second card, but it wasn't positioned very well and it was hard to read. So, I stamped it on scrap paper, matted it with green, and mounted it on Dimensionals. The flowers have white brads for their centers.
Turquoise flowers and matting for this card, pearls for the flower centers, and the sentiment stamped directly on the grid - in an acceptable position.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge - For a Woman You Love
Time for a new Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge, where a member of the design team comes up with the challenge and the rest of us get creating. This week's hostess is Maki and she has chosen a theme challenge - to make a card for a Woman You Love. You can find all the details on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built. One random participant for the month will win a full sheet of unmounted rubber. You can find all the Rock Stars' creations on the blog. You can also see them by following these links:
For my card, I used the Repeat Impressions stamp, Bouquet Stencil, found on this page. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I added glitter to the centers of the larger flowers and tiny pearls to the centers of the small flowers. The matting was cut with a Nestability. The sentiment can be found on this page. I used purple cardstock for the matting and the patterned paper is from Recollections.
We'd love to have you join us! You still have nearly a week to participate in the WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge, too, for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate. You can find those details here.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
Flutter By Wednesday #200 - And the Last
Today is the last Flutter By Wednesday challenge. Kind of sad:( Let's make Danni's last challenge a great one with lots of entries! The challenge this week is the above sketch. You can check out all the details on the FBW blog post here. You'll also find links to the design team members' blogs.
This is the card I made using the sketch. It's a special card of thanks to Danni for allowing me to be a part of her team. The Thank You stamp is from Anita's and is embossed with gold embossing powder. The papers are all white and shimmery gold, except for the butterfly, which is stamped on vellum, embossed with gold and carefully cut out and mounted on a piece of Dimensionals. The embossing was done with three different Cuttlebug folders. The card measures 4.5 x 4.5 inches.
So, thanks again, Danni, for the pleasure of being on your team. Best wishes to you and keep on creating!

Thanks Berry Much!
I made this card on Sunday for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge. The challenge this week is a sketch. You can find the challenge here and the sketch below:
My stamps are from Technique Tuesday and I used Papertrey Ink ink for the berry. I stamped the top of it, masked it off, and stamped the berry. I matted with Stampin' Up! cardstock and mounted on Dimensionals.

Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week - Cloud Silhouette (large)
Monday brings a new Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions. That means you can purchase the designated stamp at 50% off for this week only - through Sunday at 5:00 p.m. This week's SOTW is Cloud Silhouette - large, and you can find it on this page. Please visit the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built, for all the details. You will also find examples by the Rock Stars there (and a special treat - a card by Wendy!), or you can follow these links to their blogs:
I stamped the Cloud with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Then I stamped the kite over the cloud and also on a piece of patterned paper. I cut the kite out of the patterned paper and glued it to the stamped image. I colored the ribbons on the kite with a Copic marker. I matted with a bluish-gray cardstock, mounted on Dimensionals, and added a layer of patterned paper to match the kite. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions, also, of course. I think I like this and you may be looking at a preview of my March calendar page for next year. :)
There are two challenges available on the Repeat Impressions blog, too. One is the Designer's Choice challenge to use a bird on your card. This is open until Tuesday evening. The other is the WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge, which is open until a week from Tuesday evening. There are great prizes to be won on each!

"Christmas Sunday"
I came across this card base which I had embossed maybe a couple years ago. There was also a little bit of stamping on it, which I had not been happy with, so I covered it up:) The stamps are all from a Christmas set from Technique Tuesday - I used five different stamps. I colored the ornaments with Copic markers and added some Diamond Glaze to them. I matted with red.

Challenge Combo Card
I made this card for three Clean and Simple challenges. (They were "current" when I made it.) They are:
Less is More Challenge to make a one-layer card with doodling.
Susan’s One Layer Wednesday challenge to make a one-layer card with no sentiment.
CAS-ual Friday challenge to use opposite colors on the color wheel.
I used a square post-it note to mask the center of the kraft card base. I brayered Pacific Point ink onto a background stamp from a Fiskars set and stamped over the entire card front. Then I rolled off most of the ink from the brayer and used the almost-empty brayer to brayer over the stamped image. I drew lines around the edge of the blank square and also doodled near the edge. The center flower is from the same Fiskars set and is stamped in Pumpkin Pie.

Colorful Spring Tulips
Just a springy birthday card for today. The stamp is from Northwoods and I colored it with Copics. I used black cardstock punched with a Stampin' Up! border punch for the matting. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The card base is Very Vanilla from SU! and the image panel is lightly textured ivory.

Flutter By Wednesday #199 - CASing Danni's First FBW Card
This card is for Flutter By Wednesday #199. We are casing Danni's first Flutter By Wednesday card. You can find her card and other details on the FBW blog. This is the beginning of the farewell to Flutter By Wednesday, as Danni has decided to end her FBW challenges after number 200 next week. I know it will be missed!
My butterfly was stamped with a stamp I got in a kid's stamp set many years ago. I colored it with Copics. The sentiment is from Gina K. The patterned paper is from Die Cuts With a View, I believe. The matting is black.

Happy Birthday, Dad!
My dad turns 87 today. Happy Birthday, Dad! He likes cards that are a little "different," so I made this Spinner card for him. You can find the tutorial on SplitCoastStampers here. The birthday present on the circle Nestabilities spins across the card when you tilt it. Other than that, the card is very simple - imagine that! LOL! The background is embossed with a Sizzix folder. The sentiment is from Gina K and is mounted on Dimensionals. The matting is Pacific Point from Stampin' Up! Edited to add: I used the tutorial for the basic instructions. When I made my card, I actually just cut a slit about 3/8 of an inch wide. Thanks for the email, Linda!

Simple Birthday
Super simple card today. I stamped this image last June at our Group Gathering, and I can't tell you where it's from because I don't know! I cut the image out right up to the edges and matted with black. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The strip beneath it is embossed with a Cuttlebug border folder and is also matted with black. The main image panel is mounted on Dimensionals.

"Christmas Sunday"
After a few weeks off, I'm finally back with a Christmas card. I'm entering it into the Christmas Card Challenge blog. The specific challenge this week is "twine," but it's only necessary that the card be for Christmas.
The background was embossed with a Sizzix folder. The "Merry Christmas" stamp is from an Inkadinkado set. The holly (love it!) is by craftsmart. It was a dollar stamp from JoAnn's. I added a bit of red sparkle for the holly berries.

Double Challenge Card
What do you do when you can't sleep? Stamp, of course! I made this card this morning for today's SplitCoastStampers Free 4 All Challenge to use inchies or twinchies and also for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use opposite colors on the color wheel.
My inchie stamps are from Inkadinkado. I used Stampin' Up! Pacific Point and Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp them and Pumpkin Pie cardstock for the matting. The inchies are cut out and mounted on Dimensionals. The sentiment is from Gina K and is stamped with Pacific Point.

Another Birthday Butterfly
While I had the butterfly stamp out for yesterday's card (from Repeat Impressions) I thought I'd stamp another and cut it out. I used a piece of patterned paper from the same Recollections matstack that I've been using a lot lately. I like the yellow and gray combination. I stamped the butterfly again on the textured white and glued the cut-out one on top. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I matted with gray cardstock.

My card is extremely simple. I made it for my niece and her husband who are expecting their first child on their first wedding anniversary. I'm very excited for them. I used the Stork stamp, found on this page. I paper-pieced the "bundle" and colored the beak and feet of the stork. I matted with Tangerine Tango cardstock from Stampin' Up! and used a strip of striped paper from a Die Cuts With a View matstack. The image panel is mounted on Dimensionals and the sentiment is from Repeat Impressions.

A "Two-fer" - finally
It's been a long time since I've had two cards to post. I think I made six cards yesterday/last night. It was so fun! I had these two images stamped in my card parts box. I decided to make them just the same, but different colors. I cut the images and mats with Nestabilities. I stamped the sentiments (from Papertrey Ink) with markers to match the flower stems. I embossed the upper parts with a Swiss Dots and added a couple scored lines. The image panels are mounted on Dimensionals.

Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week - Stencil Bouquet
Time for a new Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week! This week's cute stamp is called Stencil Bouquet, and can be found on this page. For one week only (through Sunday evening) you can purchase this stamp for half off. Please visit the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built, for all the details. You can also view some great card ideas from the Rock Stars! Or, you can follow these links to their blogs:
I think I have a new style and it's called "purple!" LOL! For some reason, when I sit down to make a card these days, purple markers jump into my hand:) I colored the image with Copics and cut it out with a Circle Nestability. I used a marker to go around the edge of the circle before mounting it on Dimensionals and then on to the doily, which was given to me from a friend. (Thanks, Annie! I'm still using them.) The background papers are from a matstack from Recollections. Right up until I actually adhered the image to the card, it had been designed to be a top-fold card. But, this is the way it ended up, and I like it this way. It's all ready for me to add a sentiment when I'm going to use it.

Happy Easter - and a Wedding Card
First off, Happy Easter! I hope everyone has a wonderful day, surrounded by as much family and friends as possible.
I finally took a little bit of time and made a card for the SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper. The Featured Stamper was Ali, and this is the card I chose to case. I kept the same color theme, the embossed background and the die-cut image panel. The image and sentiment are an Inkadinkado set. The image panel is mounted on Dimensionals.
I have been so busy trying to get caught up on day-to-day things that I have let slide. It feels good to be making so much progress. I haven't had time to do card-making, but I hope to get back to that very soon! I also hope to be back to "Christmas Sunday" next week. I didn't have a new Christmas card for today, anyway, but I just couldn't have posted a Christmas card on Easter.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Repeat Impressions WHAT IF? Wednesday Challenge
Time for a new WHAT IF? Wednesday challenge from Repeat Impressions. Wendy gives us a sketch and we create some examples for you. You can find the sketch and the complete details on the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built. You will also find the Rock Stars' creations. Or you can follow these links to their blogs:
Cheri ~ Darsie ~ Dawn ~Joy ~ Karen ~ Kendra ~ Maki
For my card, I started with the butterfly, found on this page. I paper pieced it, using the same paper as for the background. The circle is punched with papers from the same matstack. The butterfly circle is mounted on Dimensionals. I colored some of the spots on the dotted flower to match the spotted paper. I added pearls to the flower centers. The sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
Flutter By Wednesday #197
Today starts a new Flutter By Wednesday challenge. This week's challenge is sponsored by Sparkle Creations and is an open challenge. That means anything goes as long as you include a butterfly, fairy or angel. There is a prize this week, as well as a special discount code.
I was generously sent a stamp called Charlotte with a Rose. I colored her with Copic markers. I had problems with the blue "bleeding" so I cut her out. I mounted her on Dimensionals. I cut the matting for the circle with a Spellbinders die. The blue paper is from a Die Cuts With a View matstack. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I punched the little butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch and added silver pearls for their bodies.

April Calendar Page
Wow - April already! (Although, you'd think it had been April for a while already, judging by our weather.) Time for a new calendar page.
Both stamps I used are from Repeat Impressions. (In fact, the sentiment (Beauty of Springtime) is the RI Stamp of the Week. You can find the details here. It's available for 50% off through this afternoon.) I simply added some color to the lily. You can find links to my blank calendar pages at the top of my blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
