Flower Silhouette Sympathy

Once again, the flowers and sentiment on these cards are from Gina K. The frame/matting on this first one was in my card parts. I cut a piece of white to fit into it. I used a piece of Washi tape under the flowers. The image panel is mounted on foam squares. The card size is 3.5 x 6.5.

Another gate-fold card. I used the same stamps as the first card. I die-cut the ivory panel.

Thank You With All My Heart

The stamps on this card are all from Gina K. I used ivory card base and panel. I cut the frame with a Spellbinders die. The patterned paper is very old and is from Die Cuts With a View. The image panel is popped up with foam squares.

Guy's Birthday

A simple masculine card for today's post. The tree image is from Gina K. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! I matted those with black. I used patterned paper on the left and added a thin strip of black between the patterned paper and the white card base. The tree is popped up on foam squares.

Split Gate-Fold Card

This is another card I made after watching a Jennifer McGuire video. I think it's called a split gate-fold card. I started with the scalloped matting. I had cut it out of purple glitter cardstock. I looked and looked to find some patterned cardstock that would match it. I finally found this from a Die Cuts With a View matstack. Then I realized that it hardly showed! Oh well. I used a Spellbinders die to cut the circles out of ivory cardstock. I embossed the circles with a Cuttlebug folder. I scored them, folded them in half, and added them to the scalloped circle. I punched a small hole in the circles for the knot of the bow to fit into.
Here is what it looks like when it's opened.

Long-Die Card

Both of these cards are 3.5 x 6.5 inches. I used dies (from Spellbinders?) for them. On this first one, I used the die with the detail to cut from a piece of white cardstock. I matted with purple and added it to the card front. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is mounted on foam squares.
For this second one, I used two dies. One is the detailed part, and the other cuts a "shadow" for it. I put them together so that I cut the detailed part right out of the shadow. I had cut the design out of shimmery green cardstock, and had some left over. I cut strips of it and added it to the top and bottom. I also used my Scor-Pal to add some decorative lines. The sentiment is again from Papertrey Ink and is again mounted on foam squares.

Surprise Gate-Fold Card

I saw this on a Jennifer McGuire video. I believe she called it a "surprise gate-fold" card. When it's closed, it looks like a typical gate-fold card. When you open it, you see there is a hidden panel.

My image is from Repeat Impressions. The patterned paper is from Gina K. The two sentiments are from Stampin' Up!

Color Swap - Mint Green and Brown

The colors for our monthly swap this month are mint green and brown. Here is the card I made. I used Gina K inks - Applemint and Dark Chocolate. Sounds yummy, huh? :) I used a brush and the green ink to cover a piece of cardstock. Then I used a stencil and the brown ink. I matted with brown cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in the same brown ink and is also from Gina K. The finished card measures six and a half inches by three and a half inches.

Christmas Wreath

Using up more card parts - the wreath and the sentiment. I actually had three of the wreaths cut, and I stacked them into one. Makes the card parts go away quicker! LOL! I used a circle die to cut a hole in the patterned paper (from Gina K.) I brushed the green ink onto the card front under the hole, then added the wreath and the sentiment.

A Very Merry Christmas to You!

I had stamped this sentiment to add to a card from a few days ago, but decided it was too long. I just couldn't let it sit on my table, so I made a card using it. Then I ended up with extra pieces and made two more. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. The snowman and coordinating dies (and the skating penguin on the next two cards) are from a Recollections set. I colored with Copic markers. The snowman and sentiment are mounted on foam squares. The background was embossed with a Darice folder.
Same embossing folder, different image.
Same image, different colors and different Darice embossing folder.

Six Cards - Six Occasions

I stamped these images last year using an old wood-mounted Hero Arts set. I then had cut them out using a square, stitched-edged die. I simply mounted them on card bases and added different sentiments. The sentiments are all from Papertrey Ink sets.

Distressed Edges

Something else I recently came across were four very portable tools from Stampin' Up! One is for cutting, one is for scoring, one is for making a perforated line and one is for distressing edges. Remember distressed edges? We did it with scissors or a tool. I hadn't done it for years and decided to give it another try. The image and sentiment are from an old Gina K set. I colored with Copics. The panel is matted and mounted on foam squares. I added a thin strip of patterned paper underneath.

Christmas Greenery

Here is another stamp (in green) from the Inkadinkado set I used recently. The stamps are so detailed and pretty. I cut the image out along the edges, leaving the leaves hanging over. I matted with green and then added a red, patterned layer. The sentiment is from Recollections. I cut it out and mounted on foam squares.

Silver Snowflake Christmas

The shimmery silver, die-cut sentiment was in my card parts. (I thought I had my card parts ALL sorted and under control, but I found another small "stash" of them that I had to deal with!) I decided to make another longer card. This one is six and a half inches by three and a half inches - cut to fit into some envelopes that I've had laying around. The snowflakes are from Inkadinkado and are embossed with silver. I matted with shimmery silver and then mounted the panel on foam squares.

Wishing You the Best

EDITED TO ADD: When I wrote this blog post, these stamps WERE the latest Gina K release. There is a newer one now. Sorry! The stamps I used on this card are from Gina K's newest release. I colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I had come across the photo corners and decided to use them on this card. The paper has some texture to it and the cardbase is ivory. I also used some Masking Magic to mask off the flower before adding the leaf.
I used the same flower and leaf stamps for this card. I stamped on black cardstock with Versamark and embossed with white powder. I colored with Prismacolor pencils. The butterfly was in a pile of pieces that I recently came across. The ribbon slider (?) was also something I happened upon recently so I decided to add it to the card, along with a scrap of ribbon I found. The sentiment is from another Gina K set in the new release (that's not so new anymore!)

Ornament on Bough

I love the stamps in this Inkadinkado set. I think I had only used one of them before. The sentiment is from a set from Momenta. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and added Diamond Glaze to the ornament.
The sentiment on this one was in with my card parts. It was gold embossed on vellum. I added a bit of green ink sponged on the back, and also cut a piece of white to place underneath it. I added the brad and mounted on foam squares. I stamped the image on some gold shimmery paper and cut out the ornament to add to the panel. I matted with the same shimmery gold paper.

Quilled Flower

The card parts on this card are the quilled pieces. I put them together to form a flower with leaves. I drew the stem with a marker. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Christmas Wreath

This die-cut panel was in my card parts. I found this Papertrey Ink wreath that fit very nicely into the opening. The berries and the sentiment are from the same set. I popped the panel up with foam squares.

Card Part in Periwinkle

This periwinkle piece was in with my card parts and I decided I either had to use it right away or toss it. Here it is:) Just a small piece of textured cardstock with a punched border, but it worked. I cut a piece of off-white cardstock to fit it and I stamped with Technique Tuesday stamps. I mounted the panel on foam squares. The embossed background was also from my card parts. The card base and embossed panel are off-white.

Graduation Congratulations

The daughter of friends of ours graduated this year. Bummer of a year to graduate, but what can ya do? Her party was held recently. This is the card I made for her. The main panel was done with my JustRite Stamper. I double matted it using school colors. I embossed the top part with a Sizzix folder and the bottom part with a Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment is popped up.
I rarely stamp anything inside my cards - mostly too lazy! But I made an exception for this card. The main sentiment is from Paper Inspirations. The sentiment on the left is the last one that I made at Taylored Expressions last summer. The die cuts are from LifeStyle Crafts/QuicKutz.

Burgundy Christmas

All of the sentiments on today's cards are from my card parts. I have several packs of Gina K patterned paper, including three packs of Christmas paper. I look through it a lot and then don't use it because I don't know what to with it. But, I just had to use this gorgeous print. I really love it. This first card is made with the left-over piece from the second card. I added it to an embossed piece matted with black. The sentiment is layered for dimension.
I covered nearly the entire card front with the beautiful paper. The sentiment was stamped several years ago at our Group Gathering. I had added tiny, dark red brads to the tabs on the ends. I added a few layers for dimension and also a thick black strip. I made two cards just like this.
Another card done with the left-over strip. I simply added the layered sentiment and a thin strip of black on the edge of the patterned paper. Four more Christmas cards done!

Christmas Card Parts

Three more card parts used on these Christmas cards. And three more Christmas cards finished. :) I'm pretty sure this border stencil is from Darice. The tree and the sentiment are from Papertrey Ink. I colored the tree with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I added Diamond Glaze to the berries.
I'm pretty sure this die is also from Darice. It's cut from light gray cardstock. I covered it with Versamark ink and embossed with sparkly embossing powder. The patterned paper is from a Recollections matstack. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.
The part on this card is the snowflake. I covered it with Versamark ink, one coat of sparkly embossing powder and then three layers of ultra-thick embossing powder. I embossed the background with a Sizzix folder. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Birthday in Purple

Another piece from my "stash." I didn't even color this one myself - someone did it for me at our Group Gathering last year. i think it's quite gorgeous! :) I believe this stamp is from Penny Black. The stamp was inked up with markers before stamping. I couldn't bear to cut any of it off, so the finished size of this card is 5 x 7 inches, or thereabouts. I stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) on to vellum and placed it across the bottom of the image panel and wrapped it around the edges before matting. The sentiment is embossed with black embossing powder.

Curious Kitty

This card part was already stamped, paper-pieced and matted - ready for a card. (I'm pretty sure it had already been on a card which never got used and never would be used, so it was removed and repurposed!) The stamp is from Repeat Impressions. I used patterned paper to piece the cat and perhaps a paper sack to piece the bag. I had also added a foam square under the top of the bag for dimension. I still didn't know how to use this image so I asked for help from my husband. :) This was his suggestion. I just hand-wrote the words on the front, and the inside says, "how ya doin'?"

This is the last card using up my "loose" card parts!! Hurray!! That doesn't mean I don't have any more card parts, but they are all organized and SHOULD be much easier to use now. Thanks for bearing with me through this:)

Daisy, Daisy, Daisies

Well, I finished off my years-old package of Martha Stewart daisy stickers. Yippee! :) All three of these use the same stamp from Gina K for the stems and leaves. I just didn't ink up the flowers. They all use birthday sentiment stickers. I used patterned paper on a couple of them. Daisies make me happy.

Metallic Pencils Birthday

Edited to add: I didn't realize just HOW bad the picture was! I have replaced it with a better one. I am so far ahead in my blogging, that every day is a surprise to me what I am posting. LOL@

Not a great picture, but you get the idea. I had stamped the image last year at our Group Gathering. It's embossed with gold. I colored with metallic colored pencils. and matted with shiny gold cardstock. The sentiment is die cut from the same shiny gold and layered with white die-cuts.

Simple Birthday

The black piece was from my card parts. I cut a white piece to fit in the middle of it. I used stamps from Technique Tuesday. The sentiment is a sticker on white matted with black and mounted on foam squares. The background was embossed with a Sizzix folder and matted with black.

Wishing You the Best

This die cut was in my parts. I stamped the sentiment in the middle of it. It's from Gina K. I masked off the outer parts and used an old Stampin' Up! stamp to add the "splatters." I mounted the piece on foam squares. The background was from my parts, too. It was stamped years and years ago with a background stamp from Stampin' Up! The greens match a bit better in real life than in the photo.

Birthday Balloon

I had a small piece of the patterned paper on my table, so I found a die that fit - a balloon with a stitched edge. I cut four out of white, also, and layered them. I added a sticker - gotta use them up, too! I mounted the balloon on foam squares and added some twine. I embossed the background and matted with green.

A Classic - Repeat Impressions Challenge

I really liked the sketch from the Repeat Impressions What-If Wednesday challenge, so I made this card. I had to flip the sketch and my card opens on the left - I had already glued down the panels before searching for my image. I found the image I wanted to use and realized that I couldn't make it portrait. Oh well, it works this way! Sorry, Wendy! :)

The image and the sentiment are from Repeat Impressions. The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio.
