Birthday Flowers
The flower stamp is from Gina K's set called Lovely Shelf. I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. But, instead of leaving the flowers soft and shading them, I colored them dark. I did them light at first, but didn't like them very well. I like them much better this way. The sentiment is from Papertrey's Birthday Basics set. All the pink is Pink Pirouette from Stampin' Up! (It's now retired.) I also used black for matting the main image panel and I used Pop Dots to mount the sentiment. Two unusual things about this card. One is that I didn't use white for the base:) The other is the bottom sheerish-black layer. We got a new netbook computer at Christmas, and this is the fibrous, papery thing that was protecting the keyboard. I was going to toss it, but then I realized it would work somehow on a card! I like the looks of it - being able to see the pink through it. A couple pearls for the flower centers and the card is complete.

House Mouse Anniversary
I stamped the House Mouse stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. I cut the image out with a Deckled Rectangle Nestability (available at 2RedBananas) then trimmed the left edge. It's matted with a textured green that came in a scrap pack from Target a while back. The sentiment is from Gina K's Elegant Post set. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punching using SU! cardstock.

Lavender Birthday Wishes
I made this card using my new Gina K “Tropical Flowers” set.
I first inked up the flower stamp with Stampin’ Up!’s Lavender Lace. Then I used a Garden Green marker to ink the stem and a Lovely Lilac marker to 'thump' the flowers. I cut the image out with a Petite Oval Nestability and matted it with a scalloped oval cut from Always Artichoke cardstock. The top part of the card is embossed with a Sizzix folder. Then I scored a double line with my Scor-Pal and stamped the sentiment (from Gina K's “Elegant Post") with Lovely Lilac. Oh, I also sponged the edge of the flower piece with Lavender Lace and the bottom panel with Lovely Lilac.

Elegant Post - Part Two
The post is stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and embossed with detail black embossing powder. The hanging basket of flowers is from the same set (as is the sentiment) and I stamped it using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement. I colored it with Stampin' Up! markers. Then I decided to paper-piece the basket with the same paper I used for the background and just colored the heart. The punching on the sentiment panel was done with a Stampin' Up! punch. The patterned paper is all the same - a sheet of Die Cuts With a View that I purchased at JoAnn's, and I matted everything with black.
I'm not sure that I've mentioned that our daughter is expecting baby number two in early April? We're so excited! They are having a girl this time - how sweet! They will be 18 months apart. She had the 3D/4D Ultrasound again. Last time we were with them in person, but this time was really cool, too. We were able to watch it "live" via the Internet even though we were six hours away! That was very fun.
Anyway, enough rambling! Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday - Color Challenge
The main image is a House Mouse image (Just Dandy) available from 2RedBananas. I stamped it on light blue cardstock with Versamark and embossed it with detail silver embossing powder. I matted it with silver and dark blue. The fence is punched with a Martha Stewart punch and scored with my Scor-Pal. The sentiment is from Gina K's set Elegant Post and is also embossed with silver embossing powder. Why not join us in this fun challenge! Just link your card to the challenge post on the 2RedBananas blog. :)

Love Birds Anniversary
I used my new Gina K set called Elegant Post. I paper-pieced the heart. The background paper is from a pad of black and white patterned paper from The Paper Studio. I rubbed the edge of the image panel in black ink. I did the stamping with Versafine Onyx Black, as usual. The sentiment panel is mounted on Pop Dots. I matted both layers with black.
No stamping today. We are having six couples over tonight, and I still have to clean the house and buy the snacks that we need! Oh, and bake cookies! Nothing like waiting until the last minute! :)

"Card Parts" Birthday
The “card part” on this card is the green embossed image. I think it was done with a brass stencil and a BIGkick, but I’m not 100% positive. I did it while in

SCS Clean and Simple Challenge - Birthday
This card is for SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple Challenge #49 - to cut out an element and use on your card.
The flower (and leaves and stem) are from a Gina K set called "A Year of Flowers." I stamped them when my friend Harriet was here last summer. I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and cut them out. The flower and leaves are mounted on Pop Dots. The layer that the flower is mounted on is cut with a Labels One Nestability and embossed with a Swiss Dots folder. I rounded the corners on the black square behind that layer. The black square is mounted on Pop Dots, also. The sentiment is from Papertrey's Birthday Basics set and is cut with a Spellbinder's tag die set. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I scored a square grid on the card base, and the ribbon is sheer light purple with white dots.

How I Spent My Birthday
OK. Today is the day I share what we did for my birthday. No, Mary – I didn’t get a new stamping room! LOL! Our son and daughter-in-law came over and we worked on a jigsaw puzzle. Then we all STAMPED!!! And then they made chicken enchiladas for dinner and we watched the Vikings football game. It was an awesome day.
Here are a couple pictures of them deep in thought and hard at work, along with the finished projects. My son made a “Happy First Card to Me” card. My husband made a Mother’s Day card for his mom. My daughter-in-law actually got several cards done, but I didn’t get a picture of them – so sorry! I managed to get one card done (I took the colored image from my “card parts” pile – thanks so much Annie for the cute image!) so I’ll share that one, too. My husband and son both made cards with something on the inside that popped up. So clever they are. If you have any questions on what was used for any of the cards, please let me know and I’ll answer them. (On my son's card - he stamped the sentiment (to himself!) and then hand-wrote the two smaller ones. I think he did that fabulously! My husband used Prismacolor pencils and added Diamond Glaze on top of the flowers.)

Banana Split Sunday - "Think Round"
The stamps I used for today's cards are both from the 2RedBananas set called Precious Bundles. Such a sweet set! I did a lot of paper piecing on it. The moon, the blanket and the jammies and hat are all pieced. I colored the face, hands and the stars. The patterned papers are all from a pad from Deja Views that I got at Archiver's. The main image and the matting are cut with Circle Nestabilities. The star buttons and the circle panel are mounted on Pop Dots. How about joining in on the fun and doing your own challenge card?

Two More Cards
Here are two more cards I started a couple nights ago and finished up last night. Nothing special, but I'm pleased enough with them:)
The first one is done using a Stampendous set and paper piecing. The papers are all from a Die Cuts With a View Winter Collection Holiday Matstock. Looks kind of "springy" to me! The pink flowers are colored - the rest (including the centers) are paper pieced. The second one is just very Clean and Simple. Used a Cuttlebug border folder, my Scor-Pal and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. The matting is Bermuda Bay from Stampin' Up!

Two "Hello" Cards
I got to do some more stamping last night, and this is the first chance I've had to upload the cards. I got these two cards finished, and two more started. I'm still waiting for my husband to finish up what he started on my birthday so I can share that with you!
Very quickly, here are a couple details on these cards. The first one uses the birds stamp from Stampin' Up!'s set called "Happy Together." The row of dots and the sentiment are by Hero Arts. The card base is Papertrey Ink's Kraft and the ink is white pigment. The second one uses Stampin' Up's set called "Hello Again." All three stamps are from that set. I used my SU! markers to color the images. The butterfly is cut from a piece of scrap cardstock and mounted on Pop Dots. (It is stamped directly on the background, too.) I used DMC floss on the button. The border is punched with an EK Success border punch. I also used my Scor-Pal.
Thanks so much for looking, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

A Valentine
The ribbon for this card was "re-purposed" from a Christmas gift. (Heaven knows it wasn't from me - my presents rarely even get bows!) Isn't it beautiful? The stamp and the chipboard hearts were from a very fun gift I got (bought it myself!) from Tuesday Morning. It was a tote and it was filled with things. I think one day I'll post about it. It had stamps, chipboard, ghost shapes, etc. I may not use many of them, but it will be fun to try. (The tote and everything in it was only $20.) I used Versamark and silver embossing powder for the stamp. I rubbed the heart in Versamark and used the same silver embossing powder. For the other heart, I used red ink and thick clear embossing powder.

Coppery Birthday
Finally - a chance to stamp! First the Christmas celebration with my mom and dad and a few of their grandchildren, then the quiet Christmas with just Jim and me, then my birthday, then four days of our daughter, son-in-law and grandson being here, then out of town overnight. All great times, but it's great to be back to "normal!" The Christmas things are not quite put away, but good enough. I took some time last night to stamp, but my "mojo" hasn't quite returned.
A few weeks ago I went to a store called Tuesday Morning. They have some good prices on things. I got a three-pack of embossing powders for $4.99. Of course, I have to check everything out when I get it! At the time, I still had Stampin' Up!'s Thoughts and Prayers stamp set on my table, so I stamped the tree with Versamark and embossed it with the sparkly copper embossing powder. Wasn't sure what to do with it. Cut around it. Put it in my "card parts" pile. When I couldn't figure out what to do last night, I reached for the tree. Several years ago when I bought something on eBay, the seller also sent me three copper cards and envelopes. That was so sweet of her, but I still hadn't used them. I thought of them when I had the copper tree in my hand, though. Perfect!! Hmmm ... what next? Needs some black. So went my thought process:) This card is what I ended up with. The tree is mounted on Pop Dots. I used a Nestability and a black glaze pen to draw the rectangle on my background piece - leaving space for the the tree to be "out of the box." The sentiment is from one of my new GinaK sets - called Elegant Post.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon. Hopefully I'll have more to share with you than in the past couple weeks! (I do hope to have a few pictures of an "activity" from my birthday soon - after my husband finishes up something!)

A Christmas-y Thank You
It's pretty self-explanatory, but here is what I used. The "THANKS" is done with a border punch by Martha Stewart on Real Red. I scored double lines with my Scor-Pal. I embossed with a Cuttlebug border folder - snowflakes. I decided it wasn't good enough, so I used white ink on the embossing folder and ran it through my BIGkick again. The white layers are embossed with Cuttlebug folders - Swiss Dots and Snowflakes and the matting is all Real Red by Stampin' Up!
