Batman Birthday

Our oldest grandson will be six (!) on October 2. This is the card I made him this morning. Last year he liked batman, and I suppose he's into something else this year, but I had this file for my Cameo Silhouette and I wanted to use it. All the colored pieces were printed on my printer and cut out with my Silhouette. I just had to glue it together. The batman on the card front is mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Here are a couple pictures of the inside. When you open it up, the background and the batman come out at you. I have had so little time for creating lately. Not sure where the time goes! It was fun to at least make a card like this. Hopefully I will get some time for stamping soon - to work on my SU! project and also to work on my calendars.

Our youngest grandson, Wyatt, who just turned one on the 19th, had tubes put in his ears on Tuesday. All went well. He also had a hearing test while he was under. It showed some low-frequency hearing loss, but they are fairly confident that it is not permanent. That was great news!

Beary Merry Christmas - Part Two

Here is the second (and last) card using "Beary Merry Christmas." It's pretty much identical to yesterday's card. I used the other image stamp and added the same holly spring and sentiment. I colored with Copic markers and matted with red. The image panel and card base are ivory.

"Beary" Merry Christmas - Part One

The set I'm featuring today and tomorrow is called "Beary Merry Christmas." Both of the cards are pretty much the same, just using different stamps, but I'm sharing them with you separately so that I can do two posts with them:) I simply stamped the three stamps with Memento black ink on ivory cardstock, colored with Copics and matted with Always Artichoke cardstock. The cardbase is ivory also.

Our skydiving that was scheduled for Saturday has been postponed again! :( This time the pilot cancelled. We may try to get our money back and look for a different place to jump. Very disappointing. I'll keep you posted.

Best Blossoms - Part Two

Part two of the Stampin' Up! set called "Best Blossoms." I'm really not sure what those round things are, but they became a kind of weird leaves for this card:) The stamps I used for this card are the flower, the stem, and the "leaves." I added Star Dust Stickles to the flower center, but it looks kind of funny in the picture. I used my Scor-Pal for a little decorative edging on three edges. I die cut the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" using a friend's die, and I don't know who made it. My guess would be Memory Box, but it's only a guess. I mounted the image panel on foam squares.

Best Blossoms - Part One

I had a little stamping time while Wyatt was napping today, and finished up this card that I started last night.

I'm continuing on with my project of using all of my Stampin' Up! sets. This set is called "Best Blossoms." Even though the image panel looks like it's layered, it's really not. I masked off the sentiment strip across the middle and stamped the flowers. Then I masked the flowers and stamped the leafy image over. I removed the masks and added the sentiment and scored two lines above and below it. I had trimmed a tiny strip off the green matting piece and decided I liked it between the scored lines, so I cut another very thin strip and added them. The flower beside the sentiment was stamped, cut out and mounted on foam squares. I'll have one more card using this set tomorrow, and then a Christmas card.

Our sky diving has been rescheduled for Saturday, weather-permitting. Sure hope we get to go this time!

Happy First Birthday, Wyatt!

Can you believe it - Wyatt (our youngest grandson) will be one on Friday! His birthday party was yesterday, and this is the card we gave him.

I'm not terribly pleased with it, I'm sad to say, but I was really in "crunch mode." Just not enough time to play these days. Anyway, this is what he got! The giraffe was stamped with Memento black ink on ivory cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I trimmed around it, leaving a thin border. (There was no way I was going to take the time to cut around all those little parts.) I mounted the giraffe on foam squares. I stamped the sentiment with a Stampin' Up! set and embossed that panel with a Darice embossing folder. I matted with dark brown and used an ivory card base.

Alphabet Soup

I finally had some time in my stamping room to continue working on my Stampin' Up! stamps. The four cards I'm sharing today were made with the set called "Alphabet Soup."

I used markers to color the words on this first one. I matted with an olive green and added a sparkly red brad for the dot on "jingle." I embossed the background on a quarter piece of white cardstock and added it to the card front.
I stamped the thank you stamp with Versamark and used white embossing powder. I mounted on foam squares. I also added a piece of ribbon on the patterned paper.
Again, I used markers for this stamp and again mounted on foam squares. I didn't have exactly the patterned paper I wanted, so I drew over some of the lines with the same purple marker I used on the stamp.
Markers for the words, matted and mounted on foam squares. The sentiment coloring reminded me of a candle, so I added a flame to the patterned paper:)

Our September and October are very busy, so please excuse me if I'm not around here much. I'll stamp when I can and share what I make! I also NEED to get working on my calendars. I only have January, February and March done so far. I should be done with them through September. :( And I need to make more Christmas cards, too. At least I have made a few as I've been working through my SU! sets. I hope you all are doing well, and that you have managed to stay with me through the end of this post!

All I Have Seen

This set was almost enough for me to drop my quest to use all of my Stampin' Up! sets! I bet I spent three "sessions" in my stamping room just staring at this set and trying different things. The stamps seem nice enough. They just didn't do anything for me! The set is called "All I Have Seen." The images are made to stamp "splotchy." That works for some stamps, but to me, these just really looked like they should have stamped better, but trust me, it's the way they are meant to look:) I tried so many things and wasn't happy with any of them. Finally, I remembered a black and white card I saw recently and thought, "Aha! That is what I have to do!" So, here it is. I added a rose-colored enamel dot  to the flower for a tiny dash of color. And I added some Washi tape on the bottom and matted with black. Finally! I can move on to the next set.

Four Thank Yous

For these four cards, I used two more of my Stampin' Up! sets. Each of the cards consists of one stamp from the set called "Stippled Stencils" and one stamp from the set called "Thank You Kindly." For each of them, I colored the images with markers, spritzed them with water and stamped them on watercolor paper. Then I cut them out with a Nestability and matted with Always Artichoke cardstock. Each matted image is mounted on foam squares.

This completes my 34 sets of the smallest size. (I did skip two sets, as they were "Handmade By" sets.) On to the next size bigger starting tomorrow!

I made one card using all four stamps from the set "Thank You Blocks."  I stamped them with a multi-colored ink pad and matted with Pale Plum cardstock.

Four of the same card using different images from the same set ("Winter Patches"), ivory cardstock, red matting, and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers.

Little Somethings - Part Two

Here are the other three cards - and one tag - I made with the set "Little Somethings." Twelve little stamps. I decided to make seasonal-themed cards, since I could separate them into sets of three, pretty much. I used an EK Success punch and a Martha Stewart punch to punch out the images and mattings. I colored each with Copic markers.

This first one is a summery birthday card. I used some Washi tape and a Papertrey Ink sentiment.
Then the fall one. Again, Washi tape and Papertrey sentiment. I also mounted the images on foam squares.
A Fourth of July anniversary card with a Hero Arts sentiment. (Vicki, you'll have to forget you saw this and I'll have to remember to send it to you next July!!) I added some Stickles for a little sparkle.
And finally, another Christmas tag. More Stickles and hand-written sentiment.

Little Somethings Christmas

Ah, my last set of stamps from my third stack of sets:) This set is called "Little Somethings." It consists of twelve little stamps. I used three of them on this card - the image stamps. The sentiment is from "Little Holiday Wishes" which I have already used. I punched the images and sentiment with an EK Success punch. The background was embossed using a Sizzix folder.

Little Shapes BIrthday

The last card using "Little Shapes" - this time a triangle. I stamped it multiple times across a strip of white cardstock using yellow ink. The "birthday" was made with a die from Papertrey Ink and the "wish" is the second stamp from "Small Script."

Just a Note Mini

Two cards using the Stampin' Up! set "Just a Note Mini." The birdhouse and sentiment are from that set. The shadow-stamped square is from "Little Shapes." I colored with markers, mounted on the turquoise cardstock and used an old punch to punch the edges. The whole panel is mounted on foam squares - of course! LOL!
The basket of flowers and sentiment on this cards are also from "Just a Note Mini." The background was stamped with the last stamp from "Itty Bitty Backgrounds."

September Calendar Page

September First already - totally amazing! Here is my calendar page. The stamps are all from a set from Inkadinkado. I colored the stamp with markers and used the "thumping" technique on the leaves.

My calendar files can be found through a link under my blog title. I'd love to hear if you use them! If you would like to use them and have problems, please let me know and I can send them directly to you.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
