Great Day

A member of our stamping group lives in Canada and hasn't been able to make it to our Group Gathering, but she is so sweet and sends some die cuts and stampoffs. Thanks so much, Annie!

This card was made with one of those die cuts - the coneflower. I used Copic markers to color it and foam squares under the flowers. The Swiss Dots background came from my "Card Parts" box. The sentiment is mounted on foam squares, also, and is from a Hero Arts set.

Speaking of "card parts" - I have spent a couple days going through ALL of my card parts. I threw away TONS of them - cardstock scraps that shouldn't have been in there, images I knew I would never use, etc.  Even images that were already colored, that I knew I wouldn't use. I still have more work to do - to try to figure out how to organize what's left. But, it feels good to have gotten that much done so far.

"Embedded" Die Cut Flowers

I love the technique of "embedding" die cuts into a background piece with an embossing folder. On this first card, both the flowers and the sentiment were cut with dies - both Memory Box, I believe, but I'm not 100% certain. I glued the sentiment to the kraft cardstock and then embossed with a Stampin' Up folder. Then I added the flowers and matted with red.
For the second card, I attached the flowers and then embossed. I printed the sentiment on the computer and cut it with a Spellbinders label die and matted with black. Both cards have kraft bases.

Christmas Sunday

Another Christmas card done. Yippee! Again, I'm linking this to the Christmas Card Challenge blog.

The main panel is gray, the matting is red and the base is white. The snowflakes are also gray and are covered with Star Dust Stickles. I punched the snowflake border with a Tonic punch and scored lines on both sides of it. The sentiment is again from katie & co.

Sympathy

A friend spent the day with me last Friday. She did some scrapbooking and I did some stamping. She said she was in need of sympathy cards, so I quickly made these for her. For the first one, I stamped the green squares with a retired shadow stamp from Stampin' Up! The flower and sentiment stamp are from a Hero Arts set.
For the second one (which I made first:) ) I used an ink cube from Papertey Ink and stamped it directly on the cardstock. Both cards are made with ivory cardstock with black matting.

Double-Challenge Card

I really like Natasha's sketches for her Clean & Simple Stamping blog.  I don't do them often enough:) But, yesterday I managed to use the one from this week and combine it with the Christmas Card Challenges blog. I normally post my Christmas cards on Sunday, but then I never can play along with the optional challenge. So, this week you get it on Friday! The challenge this week is to use snowflakes.

I punched the gray strip with a Martha Stewart punch. I scored two double lines in the center. The ribbon is from Martha Stewart, also. The little snowflakes were punched with a Tonic punch and I added Star Dust Stickles to them. The sentiment is an old one from Katie and Co. It's matted with red and mounted on foam squares.

Cameo Silhouette Links

In case it would be helpful for me to link to the files I have used for the Cameo Silhouette, I will try to remember to include a link.

The doily/Lattice Flower Circle on yesterday's card can be found here. The butterfly can be found here. Hopefully that helps.

Twentieth Anniversary

A friend of ours had seen this card on my stamping table and asked me if I would make one similar to it for her dad and step-mom for their 20th Anniversary. Here is what I made for her.

The butterfly and lacy circle were cut with my Cameo Silhouette. The pink circle was cut with a Nestability. I added Star Dust Stickles to the butterfly. I printed the sentiment out on the computer and cut it with a Spellbinders die. The background was embossed with a Swiss Dots folder. The lacy circle, butterfly and sentiment are all mounted on foam squares.

Sunshine

This stamped, colored and scored image had been in my "Card Parts" box for years. It was finally time for it to become a card:)

The image is a dollar stamp from JoAnn's. After coloring it, I scored the pattern around it with my Scor-Pal. Then I simply added the Star Dust Stickles to the sun and mounted it on some blue cardstock. The finished card is 4.25" square.

Wishing You Sunshine

I have many "card parts boxes" out on my table right now, and this image was near the top of one of them. I wanted to send a cheery card to a friend of a friend with health issues, so this is what she got.

I'm pretty sure the image is Penny Black, but I'm not quite certain. It was a stampoff from several years ago, I'm afraid. I colored it with Copics and cut it with a Nestability. The matting was also cut with a Nestability, out of New Leaf cardstock from Papertrey Ink. I mounted it on foam squares. I added Star Dust Stickles to the flower centers, Diamond Glaze to the lady bug and Liquid Pearls to the matting. The bottom layer was embossed with my all-time favorite embossing folder - Swiss Dots. The sentiment is from a Stampendous set.

Die Cut Flowers

Another simple flowery birthday card for today. It's fun to be using some of the "card parts" I made while I was at our Group Gathering.

The flowers and stems were cut using a Memory Box die. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The main panel was embossed with a Sizzix folder and matted with green.

Pink Birthday Flowers

All the digital images out there got me thinking about some clip art CDs that I've had forever. I checked them out and found many images that I could color and use for cards. That's where this image came from.

I printed it and colored it with Copics. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! and is stamped with Soft Suede. The matting is also Soft Suede. That's all there is to it!

Christmas Sunday

Two more Christmas cards done! (Actually four more, as I made three of this first one, in various shades of blue.) Both cards use Memory Box dies. For the first one, I scored lines around the die cut and added the sentiment with a Katie & Co stamp.
For the second one, I simply added the sentiment, from a Hero Arts set.

I am submitting these to the Christmas Card Challenges blog. The optional challenge this week is embossing. It's also for the CAS on Sunday challenge, which is Christmas in July.

Flowers and Circles and Dots

A "card parts" card. The embossed pieces were both left over from a project.

I embossed the white main piece three times with a small Cuttlebug folder. I also scored a couple lines on it. The flowers are Primas and are attached with white brads. The green layer was embossed with a Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I matted that layer with white and mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from Papertrey ink and is stamped with Green Galore to match the matting and flowers.

Butterfly Birthday and Anniversary

These cards were all done with Stampin' Up! Swallowtail butterfly stamp. Someone had it at our Group Gathering and I made these cards with it. For all of them, I stamped the image with Versamark and used different colors of embossing powder.

On the first one, I brayered on the color using a Kaleidacolor pad. I stamped the sentiment after the brayering and embossed with white. I matted with white and used a colored card base.

For the second one, I embossed with gold powder and sponged the color on. The sentiment is from Inky Antics and is also embossed with gold.

The third one was sponged with one color - So Saffron. The sentiment was stamped with So Saffron, also. I matted with Crushed Curry and used a white card base.

This fourth one was sponged with Distress inks - Weathered Wood and Dusty Concord, matted with black and the sentiment stamped in black.

Simple Peony Birthday

Another card made with "card parts" from my Group Gathering. The peony and the sentiment were both cut with Memory Box dies. It's hard to tell, but the orange part of the peony is cut from patterned paper. The background is patterned paper from a Recollections pad.

Christmas Sunday - Finally!

I had a little stamping time a few days ago and made four cards similar to this one. They all used stamps from a Hero Arts set. I stamped with black ink and colored with Tim Holtz Distress markers. I added tiny clear gems to the snowflakes and also the snowman's eyes. For this one, I also added Start Dust Stickles to the snowman.

I'm entering this in the Christmas Card Challenges blog. (This week's specific challenge is "Stockings," but the main challenge is just to make a Christmas card.)

Edited to add: I'm also entering this in the CAS on Sunday Challenge. This week's challenge is "Christmas in July."

I'm so excited - I finally did my January 2014 calendar page! Now I'm only six months behind:)

Happy Anniversary, Vicki and Gary!

Yesterday was the anniversary of a friend of mine from my stamping group. This is the card I made for them.
I used Inky Antics stamps. I used honeycomb paper for the bell on the inside. I colored with Distress markers and used a silver pen for highlighting.

Sweet Card:)

Flutter By Wednesdays is taking a break for the month of July. We'll be back in August with a new challenge for you!

A friend gave me this image to color. Isn't she sweet? She is from Funky Kits - a Simply Adorable Digital image. I colored her with Copics. I cut her and the mat with Nestabilities. I colored some plain gems with a purple Copic marker to add to the scallops. I mounted the circles on foam squares. I embossed the pink strip down the middle with a Sizzix folder. The background is from a Recollections pad.

Guy Birthday Card

A birthday card for a friend. The lighthouse stamp is from Impression Obsession. I stamped it with Soft Suede. I colored it with the lightest Copics I had, for some subtle color. I also added some Star Dust Stickles to the sun. I matted with Soft Suede and mounted on foam squares. The band across the right side is Soft Suede, also - embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and scored with my Score Buddy. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The base and the image panel are ivory.

July Calendar Page

My July calendar page. I guess that means I'm already seven months behind in making calendars for next year, as I haven't even started yet!

The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions on a label cut with a Spellbinders die. The star and border were cut with a Lifestyles Crafts dies. The stars and stripes papers are from a Recollections pad. The star border is shimmery navy blue.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
