Sympathy

A friend spent the day with me last Friday. She did some scrapbooking and I did some stamping. She said she was in need of sympathy cards, so I quickly made these for her. For the first one, I stamped the green squares with a retired shadow stamp from Stampin' Up! The flower and sentiment stamp are from a Hero Arts set.
For the second one (which I made first:) ) I used an ink cube from Papertey Ink and stamped it directly on the cardstock. Both cards are made with ivory cardstock with black matting.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

These are just gorgeous, Lynette, and I bet your friend was very pleased with them. What I particularly like about them is the square text of the "with" echoed by the three green squares (3 always a great number - the card just wouldn't have worked with 2 or 4 lol!) and the fluid "sympathy" text mirrored by the organic shapes of the flowers. As always, your composition is second to none, and extremely pleasing to the eye, as is your choice of colours. You may deny it, Lynette, but you are a true artist.

Thanks for your latest comment about the progress on our house - yes, even the hidden work is exciting! I hate not being there in case I miss anything!

Have a great weekend.

I really like the simplicity of the cards! Definitely a card I plan to CASE!!! I don't remember that Hero Arts stamp but I'm going to look through all of mine to see if I have it. :)

I love both of these cards. Not sure if I like card 1 or 2 better. I do like the idea of using the ink cube.It not only saves a step using a stamp but I like that it gives more of an opaque look. The design is awesome Lynette. Thanks so much for sharing. :)

Lynette, these are beautiful! Very elegant, and love the opaqueness (is that a word...lol?) thanks for sharing!

Beautiful card! I wonder what it would like using a square acrylic block instead of a rubber square? Or maybe a reverse mask of three hole punched squares then sponged? Hmmm...you have sparked my imagination. Thank you for sharing!

These sympathy cards are beautiful. I love the style. I have bunches of old Hero Arts shadow stamps along these lines. Very clever to use the stamp cube directly onto the paper.
