Happy Birthday, Dad!

It's my dad's 86th birthday on Sunday, and this is the card I made for him.  He does really like "unique fold" cards.  This one isn't terribly special, but at least it's something a little different:)

This is an easel card.  I was in a hurry to get the card done, and I actually found the card base all done in one of my "card parts" boxes.  That sure helped!  And I have a new motto - if in doubt for a masculine card - brayer and silhouette stamp!  I brayered with five colors of Stampin' Up! inks.  The reeds (grass?) and dragonfly stamps are from Technique Tuesday.  The sentiment is from All Night Media.  I cut the letters with an alphabet set from Cuttlebug - Baby Face.  I sponged a little ink around the edge of the "Dad" panel.  The matting paper is Soft Suede from Stampin' Up!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Great card, Lynette! I always love hearing what other cardmakers do for masculine cards. The only man I have to make cards for is my husband and I always have such a hard time coming up with a design that I'm happy with. I guess I should be happy that we don't have a big extended family with lots of guys... I'd be driving myself crazy! LOL!!

Lynette, Great idea using the brayering technique for this card. I forget about using
brayering... thanks for the reminder.
Your Dad is going to love it, and Have a Happy Birthday Dad...With Love Judi

I like your rule of thumb for when in doubt. I'm going to keep that in mind for my next masculine card. This is quite beautiful, Lynette!
