Snowflake Christmas

This is a case of a card that I made MANY years ago. I still had the masking pieces in a folder so I used them one more time before I threw them away. I had cut the curves from thin paper and I placed them so that I had a banner across the middle. In this space, I sponged Soft Silver ink. Over the silver ink, I stamped snowflakes from an Inkadinkado set. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Sparkly Christmas

I've had this main image in a folder for many years, and I finally used it on a card. It was a tag I received on a gift and thought it was so pretty. I simply trimmed it down a tad and matted it with red. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. It's actually a very sparkly card in "real life."

Masculine Birthday

I think this card will work well for male friend. I cut the curved edges with a stitched die. I embossed the cut pieces with a Cuttlebug folder and popped them up on foam squares. The patterned paper on the bottom layer is from The Paper Studio. I stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) on ivory cardstock and added it to the brown.

Three-Flower Birthday

After making yesterday's card, I had the three white squares left over. Of course, I couldn't let them go to waste, hence this card. I had also pulled out these flowers earlier. I believe they are from Thailand, sent to me by someone. I had four of them left, and I put the fourth one on the inside of the card. I added scored lines above and below the flowers. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The cardbase is textured cardstock.

Three-Turtle Birthay

Another (surprise!) simple card  from me today. 😀 I was looking through my sticker drawer and pulled out this set from Sandylion. I have used some of these cute turtles before, but now have three less of them left. I still have a few smaller ones left. The three square holes were made by using a Papertrey Ink die. The sentiment is also from Papertrey. I mounted the die-cut piece on foam squares.

Happy Birthday, Wyatt!!

Well, today is our youngest grandson, Wyatt's, sixth birthday. I can't believe he's six already!! This is the card that I made for him. It's called a "spinner card" I think, but I also think there are two types of "spinner cards." The theme of his birthday party is Toy Story, and his favorite characters are Forky and Buzz Lightyear. (Who knew there was now a Forky!) I used a Papertrey Ink stamp for the sentiment and a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Sorry about the quality of the video. I don't do videos! But, I thought this might be helpful.

Another Christmas Stencil

I'm catching up on blog posts. But, this is my last card for a while. I had a good streak, but haven't really spent much time in my stamping for for a couple weeks. At any rate, here is my card for today. I used another stencil from Plaid for this one. To the trees, I added the strings and used Nuvo drops for the ornaments. I also added some white dots to the red spots with a gel pen. I also added some scored lines with my ScorPal. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Edited to add: Unimportant, but I think the drops on the tree were made with platinum Liquid Pearls, not Nuvo drops. 😀

Resist Watercolor Background

I made this using a technique from Jennifer McGuire. I used a paintbrush, distress inks and water to cover a piece of watercolor cardstock. Then I used Versamark ink and stamped a background over the painted surface. I used clear embossing powder over the Versamark. Then I spritzed water over the background. This "lifted" the color from the cardstock, but left the "full=strength" color under the embossing. I added the sentiment (from Stampabilities) with black ink. I used a die to cut the flowers and added two lines above and below the sentiment with my Scor-Pal

Speedy Recovery

Our daughter-in-law's father recently had quadruple by-pass surgery. (He's doing quite well, from what I hear.) This is the card we sent him. I used a die for the timepieces. I placed it on an ivory panel and matted with black. The sentiments are from a Verve set. The card base is Papertrey Ink kraft.

Birthday Wishes

I have several word dies and I was looking through them recently. I'm not sure if I have used this one previously or not. The die set is from Sizzix. It cuts the sentiments in corners. I made a frame from the die cut. I used patterned paper under it. The card base is ivory. Just a simple card, but I share all of the cards that I make:)

Christmas Stencil

I happened across a few stencil recently, and decided to use one or two. Actually, the two that I used were on the same sheet:) They are by Plaid. The holly and berries were on this part of the stencil. I matted with red and used Diamond Glaze (same as crystal effects??) on the berries. The sentiment is from Gina K.

Happy Birthday, Vicki!

This is the birthday card that I made for my friend, Vicki. Hope you have a great day, Vicki!

I used the same stencil that I used on another card recently. This time, I used Versamark ink on the stencil and Kaleidoscope embossing powder for the sparkle. The flowers were die-cut and sprayed with a shimmer mist, with Nuvo drops added to the centers. I added a thin strip of black above the purple. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!

Watercolor Left-Over

I did a watercolor background piece recently that I haven't used on a card yet, but I used the left-over ink that I had "smooshed" onto my glass mat to make this background piece. It's not watercolor paper, but I just used a brush to add the color to some off-white cardstock. I stamped on it when it was dry using an Inkadinkado stamp and matted it with black. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Stenciled Background

I got a new Darice stencil (through Consumer Crafts) and used it to make a piece for both of these cards. I used four colors of Gina K ink and a makeup brush for the backgrounds.

On this first card, I used the left-over piece from the second card. I used a technique from Jennifer McGuire's blog for the sentiment die. I first added sparkly embossing powder to the die-cut and then added a couple layers of ultra-thick embossing powder. The original die-cut is from the same color as the bottom layer.
For this second card, I die-cut a frame and then added vellum behind it. I used another die to cut the sentiment. The sentiment panel is mounted on foam squares.

Friend Tree

A new-to-me Papertrey Ink set that I had ordered and delivered to me by a friend in Ankeny in June. All three stamps are from the same set. I cut the "leafy" part directly onto the card front along with the trunk, and then again on scrap paper. I cut out the one from scrap paper, mounted it on foam squares, and added it on top of the card-front one, placing it off-set.

Metallic Marker Flowers

While in Ankeny in June, we played with embossed images on black cardstock, colored with metallic markers. I stamped a few images and brought the pieces home. I already had some metallic markers that were not the "brush" kind that we used in Ankeny, but they worked just fine. I embossed the sentiment with gold, also. Hard to tell, but I colored the flower centers with a light turquoise, but then I added some Wink of Stella. It looks very "prominent" in the photos, but it's actually quite subtle in real life. I added thin strips of shimmery gold down each side.

Recycled Christmas

I very rarely use a previously-made card to make another card, but I did for this one. Actually, I made two cards like this. (That makes 52 for this year so far.) Going through my mom and dad's things a couple years ago, I came across two cards that had this as part of them. I just couldn't throw them away, so I finally recycled them on this card. I added the sentiment, from Papertrey, mounted on foam squares.

So Very Sorry

I got an email from Gina K showing this method of coloring. I made this card almost immediately. :) The image and the sentiment are both from Gina K. I stamped the image with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I sponged some turquoise ink over the image. Then I colored the image partially with Prismacolor pencils. What a great and easy technique! I matted the panel with black. I thought this would work as a sympathy card.

More Die-Cut Flowers

I used some of my special tie-dyed glitter cardstock to back this die-cut piece. I used another little piece of it to die-cut the sentiment. I used the die to cut two more "hellos" and stacked them up for added dimension.
For this card, I slightly trimmed down the die-cut piece and matted with red. The sentiment is from a Gina K set. I made three like this.

Die-Cut Window Birthdays

I die-cut these window pieces at our Group Gathering. I used some very fine mesh tulle for this first card. The flower is one of the Brusho flowers I shared a picture of on yesterday's post. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
The window on this second card is light purple vellum. I used another of my Brusho flowers and two of the leaves. The sentiment is again from Papertrey.

More Card Parts!

I had already cut many pieces out of the Brusho sheet that I made when my friend, Cheryl, was over here in May. But recently I took the parts of the sheet that were left and cut out these pieces. So, instead of using up some card parts, I have more! Hopefully you'll be seeing them on some completed cards soon, though. I just love the way the leaves turned out.

September Calendar Page

Here is my calendar page for September. The image is stamped with a Repeat Impressions stamp using a Kaleidacolor ink pad. I colored the line-art images (the pinecone and small-leaved branch) with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I added it to patterned paper.
