Leafy Wreath

I've watched Gina K and Jennifer McGuire use a wreath builder template, but I didn't have one. So I made my own. Then I used it to make this card. I used a leaf stamp from a Gina K set as my only image. I colored the leaves with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. I just smushed the ink onto my glass mat and then used a tiny bit of water and a paint brush. The sparkle is quite pretty, in real life. I added some tiny gem stickers between the leaves. The sentiment is from another Gina K set. I matted both the sentiment panel and the image panel with black. I mounted the sentiment panel on foam squares.

Fall Thinking of You

I cut this piece out a couple weeks ago, but never did anything with it until a couple days ago. I brushed three fall-ish colors of ink onto the die-cut and then added it to a 6 x 3.5 inch off-white card base. I
stamped the sentiment, from Avery Elle, with a darker brown ink.

Heart Anniversary

Both the fancy heart and the die-cut panel came from my card parts book. I mounted the panel on foam squares and added the heart spanning the opening. The sentiment is one I've used in a couple of my most recent blog posts. It's from an Avery Elle set.

Circle Anniversary

The die-cut flowery piece was another piece I pulled from my card parts book a few days ago. I just had to pull out a few pieces to get my mojo flowing again. The circle was also in my card parts. Both pieces were white. I brushed ink onto the circle piece using Gina K inks. I love them for blending. Then I brushed green inks onto the flowery piece. I put those pieces together and mounted them on foam squares. The sentiment and the hearts are from a new-to-me Avery Elle set.

October Color Swap - Orange and Black

Here is the card I made for this month's color swap card. The colors are orange and black. Sounds like a Halloween card, but I didn't want to make one! :) So, here was my alternative. Using Gina K inks, I brushed three shades of orange onto a panel of white cardstock. Then I used a Gina K silhouette stamp, and a sentiment from the same set. I matted the panel with black, and mounted it "askew" onto an off-white card base. I also added three "nail heads" just for a little more interest.

Purple Musical Birthday

I had time to spend in my stamping room lately, but I wasn't really motivated by anything - not even some new stamps! So, I pulled out my "card parts" book. This pre-cut sentiment was in there, and it was one of the things that I pulled out. I also used a pre-cut piece of patterned paper. I'm pretty sure it was a sample piece that a Stampin' Up! demonstrator had, and I ended up with lots of these pieces in one of three boxes of "junk" that my son brought me many years ago from a co-worker of his. I'm still enjoying that stuff! I matted that piece with black and dug out a piece of matching purple cardstock. i embossed that with a Darice embossing folder.

Birthday with Amelia's Flower

I finally got to spend a little time in my stamping room again. Here is the card that I completed. The image was drawn by our granddaughter, Amelia. I colored it with Copic markers. I matted with purple, added some scored lines and a sentiment from Lawn Fawn (that I just got in the mail today) and mounted it on foam squares. The background is very shiny and purple. It's done with foil, a pre-printed sheet from Gina K and a laminator. You can sort of see the purple in the small photo on the left.

I'm linking this up to Darnell's NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge.

Christmas - By Amelia

Here is another card made by our granddaughter, Amelia. We'll miss her when she goes back home, for sure! We used a Gina K stencil for the background, dabbing a Versamark pad all over the raspberry cardstock and the stencil. Then we used a sparkly embossing powder and heat embossed. The tree and the sentiment are embossed with detail gold powder. The tree is from Inkadinkado and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. The sentiment is mounted on foam squares.

In My Thoughts

A fall "Thinking of You" card. I used three fall colors of ink and a new Gina K stencil for the background of this card. I used Gina K leaves and sentiment stamps for the sentiment panel, and popped it up with foam squares.

By Amelia #2

Here is another card by our granddaughter, Amelia. She said she was inspired by my card from yesterday. 😊 She kind of used it for her layout, but this card was all her. It started out by me showing her that you can use bubble wrap to ink up a background. She choose the color. Then she said that she would like an elephant in a party hat holding a bunch of balloons. I thought that might be difficult! But then I remembered I had a few stamped and die-cut elephants from several years ago that I made when I was visiting stamping friends in Omaha. No party hat, though! I showed her my balloon dies and she chose this one, and she used glitter paper that matched the background quite well. She sketched the elephant so that she could practice coloring it. She also sketched this flower again. By the way, I'm sorry that I didn't make clear the other day that she drew this flower based on a Gina K stamp. But she did it in about five seconds! She used Copic markers to color the elephant. The sentiment is from an older Gina K set. She matted with glitter paper cut with a scalloped Nestability. The elephant, sentiment and two balloons are mounted on foam squares. I believe the elephant is from Wplus9.

Birthday Flowers in Pink

The main image on this card was done with a brass stencil. After embossing it, I used an ink pad directly over it in two directions for the color. I matted with black. The sentiment is one from my card parts. I matted it with a scalloped die-cut piece. I'm pretty sure the sentiment is from Stampin' Up! but I'm not sure. I used a Gina K stencil to ink up the background.

Hello Sunshine

A simple card I made using a new-to-me stamp set from Gina K. All the images and the sentiment are from the same set. I stamped them on a textured off-white cardstock and colored with Copics. I also used a new-to-me stencil from Gina K to make the diagonal stripes. The black "matting" is actually thin strips.

By Amelia

We have been lucky enough to have our granddaughter spend several days with us. Awesome!! She and I have had some (but not enough!) time in my stamping room. She personally made both of these cards - she did the stamping and the coloring. I helped with the cutting, but then she did the gluing. I am so impressed! She is in fifth grade - age ten and a half.

The main image on this first card is from Gina K. She colored with Copics. The sentiment and the heart stamp are from The Paper Company.
The flower spray and the butterflies on this card are from Inkadinkado. They are also colored with Copics. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!

I am adding these last two pieces because, again, I am so impressed. She just drew these in a few seconds so that she could practice her coloring! They look like stamps to me. :)

Another "Box-Top" Fold Card

Here is another card like I posted a couple weeks ago. Nothing special, but I just wanted to try it again. We gave this to our oldest grandson. He turned 12 on the second. Amazing how time flies!

The directions I was given called for two pieces of cardstock glued together, but I just did it as one. I scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8 on the short side, and at 2 3/4 and 8 1/4 on the long side, and then I cut out the corners. Then you simply fold it up like the top of a box.

Tiny Butterfly Anniversary

This little butterfly has been on my stamping table for quite a while. I had colored it with Copics and added Wink of Stella. I don't remember who makes the stamp.Very had to see in the photo, but there is a scalloped border above and below the sentiment, and then scored lines on the top and bottom of those. The sentiment is die-cut and layered. The card base and panel are ivory. The scalloped border was done with a LifeStyle Crafts embossing folder.

Glittery Flowers and Butterfly

Another one of my glittery cards. I threw away a different piece that was similar to this, but used different glitter and I really didn't like it! This image is from Repeat Impressions. I simply colored it with Copic markers. Then I added double-sided sticky paper to the entire piece, then added ultra-fine glitter over the top. The sentiment is die-cut and layered.

Glittery Balloons

I had fun with glitter for a few days. Here is one of the cards I made with it. I had a small piece of cardstock left over that had double sided sticky paper on it, so I used it to die-cut the balloons. Then I added Martha Stewart glitter to them in various colors. I added the strings with a fine-tip marker and matted with black. The die was in my card parts book.

Anniversary Flowers with Bee

Another simple card for today - what else is new! LOL! The image is from Repeat Impressions. I used Copic markers for the sky and the bee. I watercolored the flowers and leaves. After watercoloring, I stamped the image again, over the top. That was necessary to see the lines sharply. I used an ivory cardbase. The sentiment is die-cut. I used a bit of Wink of Stella on the bee's wings.

October Calendar Page

Welcome to October!!

I did this page so long ago, I don't even remember where the stamps came from. I think I borrowed them from a neighbor/friend/fellow stamper. All the stamps are from October Afternoon.

I have my calendar files for 2021 and 2022 uploaded for anyone who would like to use them. I'd love to hear from you if you do! You can find the links under my blog title.
