Thinking of You in Pink

This is a real "Gina K" card. The flower and leaves were made from a Gina K set I got from my friend, but they came with the set - already done. :-) The flower is mounted on foam squares. I used Nestability dies for the ovals. The sentiment stamp is also from Gina K. The background is from my new cardstock matstack from Michael's.

Punched Border

This punched border was in my card parts with the ribbon already threaded through it. I added it to a piece of ivory cardstock and placed it on a green card base that I've around for several years. I embossed the sentiment with gold powder.

Sew Lovely

These stamped images were from my card parts, also. I'm pretty sure they are from Altenew. I got the stamp set last summer and stamped these out and never did anything with them. Last week I fussy-cut them out and put them on a card. The two orange/red flowers are popped up on foam squares, as is the sentiment.

A Note to Say Hello

I spent much of Thursday afternoon of last week in my stamping room, and it was great! I used up more card parts. These two foiled pieces were some of them. I matted them and popped the sentiment panel up on foam squares. I added the butterfly sticker. The background is from a matstack I just got at Michaels because I couldn't resist the sale. LOL!

Celebrate Your Day

While looking through my dies, I came across this one. I think it's from Altenew, but I'm not real sure of that. I cut it using some silver metallic cardstock and put purple cardstock behind it. The sentiment is embossed with silver embossing powder. Very simple, but it was fun to be creating!

Watercolor By Wyatt

We picked Wyatt, our youngest grandchild, up from school a couple weeks ago, and he gave me this artwork that he had done - the watercolored background. I asked him if I could use it to make a card. At first he hesitated, and then he said it would be okay. So, here is it. I cut it down and matted it using Waffle Flower dies. I stamped the image with a Gina K stamp and used a die-cut sentiment from my card parts. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions and is from a set that I got from my friend in March. It's popped up on foam squares.

Thinking of You Butterflies

Another card made with a card part using the same punch as Wednesday's card. I had ink blended the color over it. I scored lines on the unpunched part and added the sentiment. I also added a couple butterfly stickers.

Holiday Wishes

I still pick out pieces from my card parts now and then, but not often enough. But, I guess I just don't have enough time in my stamping room! I had used an edge punch from Martha Stewart to punch both sides of a piece of 5.5 x 4.25 inch cardstock, leaving the middle intact. This is the piece that was in my card parts. The snowflakes and sentiment were also from my card parts. I added a strip of lightly patterned paper on the inside edges of the punching. The sentiment and the snowflakes, all from Gina K, were embossed with silver and die-cut. Another Christmas card done. I know it's early, but I do wish I had more of them done.

Open Window Birthday

Another card made with a set from my friend. I think I have one or two things left to use. This is one that I probably will not use again! I know that some people love the "putzy" things, but I'm not a fan of them. Anyway, this set is from Sizzix and includes the embossing folder which also cuts and the dies for all the little pieces. The sentiment is from a different company. I rubbed ink pads over the embossed image. I colored the die-cut pieces with Copic markers. I added embellishments to the flower centers and some sparkle to the bees' wings. The butterflies and bees are popped up on foam squares.

Special Day

I saw this technique somewhere and thought I would give it a try. It was fun to just play and not be trying to use something up or to have to use something that I hadn't used before. The dies for the flowers are from Gina K. I cut the solid piece out of white and the detailed piece from black. I ink-blended on the solid piece and then put a stencil over it and added more ink. Then I glued them together. I embossed the top and bottom pieces with a Gina K embossing folder. Then I added the thin black strips. I stamped the sentiment, from Stampendous, before doing the embossing. I made three cards like this. The other two had Mrs. Grossman's stickers for the sentiments.

Simple Birthday Presents

Here is another stamp I got from my friend who was "cleaning house." It's from Stamps by Judith and Heather. I simply colored it, using the packaging as a guide. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the bows and ribbons. The sentiment is a rub-on from Mrs. Grossman's stickers. I am slowly getting them used up!

April Calendar Page

Oops, I forgot to do my calendar page post. Better late then never! I have a die that cuts the rainbow pieces, and aso dies for the clouds. I colored the rainbow pieces with Copics and sponged ink around the edges of the clouds. The sentiment was hand-written. Happy April!!

Hello Friend

This card was done with another Gina K set that I got from my friend. It includes the stencils, the dies and the stamps. Fun. It makes a very pretty background, but you can also cut out the individual flowers and leaves with the included dies.

Musical Guy Card

This card is for a friend of ours who is very "musical." The background piece and the die-cut pieces were in my card parts book and so it was very easy to put it together. The background was done with a stencil. The sentiment is from Stampabilities.

Guy Birthday ??

The image stamp on this card is from the same set that I used on yesterday's post, from Gina K. The sentiment is from Stampabilities. I thought this would work to send to a guy. Cards for guys are always so hard to make for me.

Birthday for a Friend

We recently visited some friends, and she is a card maker. She had many things that she was giving away, so I went shopping and chose a few things. This Gina K set was one of the items that I selected. The image and sentiments, including the dies, were part of the set. I added the butterfly sticker, which came from the Dollar Tree. The edges of the image panel are thin metallic stickers.

Hedgehog Birthday in Pink

This stamped image has been in my card parts for MANY years! I finally colored it up and cut it out with a Gina K die. I sponged a bit of black around the edges and popped it up on foam squares. The background paper is very ancient Stampin' Up! The sentiment is another Mrs. Grossman's sticker. I only have a few left of those, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Birthday Leaves

Five more card parts used up. I had one of this first color and four of the second. I had stamped them quite a while ago intending to cut them out, but they were stamped too close together. Oh well, they made pretty pieces this way. I mounted them on foam squares. And now they are gone. The sentiments on them all are Mrs. Grossman's stickers.
It's hard to tell, but I embossed the bottom panel of this card with a Gina K folder.

3-D Folders

Somewhere I read (or saw) a post about doing this. I just made a note, assuming that I would remember what it was about. Of course, my memory isn't that good. LOL! My note only said, "3D emboss, then white ink then gold." So this is what I did, except my gold ink pad was dried up. I used an Altenew 3D folder to emboss the images. Then I rubbed my white ink pad over the embossed images. Then I rubbed my copper ink pad over the white. It is more shiny in person, naturally. For the sentiments, I first stamped them in white and then in copper, also. I thought these would work for sympathy cards.

Blessings on Your Special Day

More background pieces used up. Getting close to using them all up! I matted these pieces. The flowers are from Altenew. The sentiment is from Gina K. The left flower on this first card and the flower on the second card have been popped up on foam squares. The sentiment on the first card was on foam squares, also. I ripped the edges of it and sponged ink on them.

More Tiny, Die-Cut Flowers

Finally, here is the other die-cut that I made about a month ago! I colored the flowers on this one and added it to a panel that was embossed with a Darice folder and matted. The sentiment is from a Gina K set.

Thank You Flowers

Finally - another card! Life is just too busy, but it's all good! I guess I didn't get the embossing very deep on the bottom of the white panel because it doesn't show very well. But, it's there! I got a new die at the Dollar Tree, so of course I had to try it out right away. I did it once with white on the top of the panel, and once in ivory, but just the thin strip. I colored the ivory one, and you'll see it some day. I scored the lines with my Scor-Buddy. The sentiment is from Avery Elle.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, Friends!! I hope you all have someone special to share your day with. Here is a valentine I made for a friend. I used a die for the line of hearts across the bottom and also the main focal point. I used glitter paper for that and also under the row of hearts. I stamped the sentiment, from a Recollections set, and then embossed with a Darice folder. I added "nail heads" to the circles on the die-cut. The whole main panel is mounted on foam squares.

Birthday Roses

The background on this one was done by cleaning off my brayer. I had shown a friend how to brayer on an embossing folder, so I used the excess ink. The doily die-cut was from my card parts. The leaves are from Gina K. I have so many layered rose stamps that I'm not even sure where these are from. I have a new-to-me Altenew set, and they could be from there. The sentiment is a rub-on, also from my card parts.

And Even More Card Parts

These two die-cut backgrounds were in my card parts.  I own the dies and I believe they are from Memory Box. I mounted this first one on foam squares. The flower pieces and sentiment were done a couple years ago using a borrowed Stampin' Up! set.

The sentiment on this one is from Altenew. The leaves are from Gina K - from an ephemera package.

Using Up More Card Parts

I keep trying to use up more and more card parts. These backgrounds I have had for many, many years. I'm sure they were made with alcohol and Stampin' Up! inks. For this first one, I added a die-cut wreath. It had been cut out of purple cardstock. I colored the leaves green and added enamel dots to the flower centers. The sentiments were also in my card parts - stamped and die-cut using a  Stampin' Up set. The "Sending" is mounted on foam squares.

The die-cut "doily" is from my card parts, as are the flowers and leaves. The sentiment is from an Altenew set. I used foam squares under the sentiment, the roses and the outer-most leaves.

Anniversary in Pink

And a couple anniversary cards in pink. I matted the die-cut heart with pink glitter cardstock and mounted it on foam squares. The sentiment is from Avery Elle. I also added a thin strip of the glitter cardstock beneath the patterened paper.

The roses and leaves on this card are done with an Altenew set. The sentiment is embossed with silver and I used a thin strip of silver metallic beneath the patterned paper.

Anniversary in Purple

Two anniversary cards in purple. I used dies on each of them. I used a Gina K embossing folder for each and the sentiment is from Gina K, also. I added some purple ink around the edges of the embossed panel on this first one.
On this second one, I embossed the image panel. The purple is all glitter cardstock.

Grandkids' Valentines

I got out all of my valentines things to make some cards, and then I ended up making one sort of special and four extremely basic and the same! Oh well. The grandkids will be fine with them. I did do a little bit more die-cutting so maybe I'll make some anniversary cards out of those pieces.

This first card is for our one granddaughter. The heart was done with a Spellbinders die, backed with glitter paper. That panel is raised on foam squares. The embossing was done with a Darice folder. I added some sparkly enamel dots. The sentiment is from the same Recollections set as I used on the second card.

This one was done with two embossing folders and a stamp from a Recollections set from several years ago. I added three tiny "nailheads." I made four of these for the grandsons.

Alcohol Inked Background

Another background used up. Unlike the others I've been using, I made this one very recently. The others were made years and years ago by someone else. I used alcohol inks for this one. I saw a card on Gina K's Instagram a couple of days ago that someone had made using about the same colors! (Mine was done about three or four weeks ago.) That card simply had a white-stamped sentiment, so I thought using a white layered die-cut would work, too.

More Wintery Backgrounds

These first two use patterned paper for the backgrounds. I added the snowflake and the sentiment - both popped up on foam squares - from Gina K. The background is matted with dark blue. All of the snowflakes and sentiments are embossed with silver embossing powder.

And this one should have been with yesterday's post. I thought there was another one with that background! I added a silver metallic strip through the middle. Again, the snowflakes and sentiment are from Gina K.

Winter Birthday Wishes

I'm still working on using up backgrounds, etc. I've had this background for almost 15 years! It has silver in it, so I went with silver embellishments. The stamps and dies for the snowflakes and the sentiment are from Gina K. The sentiment has four layers beneath the stamped layer.

Silver Christmas

And two more Christmas cards done! (I made two of these.) The background was stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with silver powder. I matted with shiny silver cardstock. The sentiment was die-cut from the same silver cardstock and I added a couple layers of white to it for more dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

More Christmas

Three more Christmas cards done. (I made two of the second card.) The image and sentiment are from an old Inkadinkado set. I colored the image and added the gold washi tape. The patterned paper on each edge is leftover from my last cards.
