Happy Tenth Birthday, Jonah!

Well, our second youngest grandson just turned ten yesterday! Hard to believe. The youngest will be ten in September. Amazing! We made this card quickly for Jonah. He's a drummer - and a great one, at that! 😊 The picture is clip art and the sentiment is computer-generated. Happy Birthday, Jonah!

Teacher Thank You

Awhile ago, I went through my stickers and pulled some out to use and set the rest aside to give away. These were in my "to use" box, so yesterday I used them. The apple has lots of dimension! I think this would be a great thank you for a teacher. I'll save it for next year and give it to Cheryl for the thrift store.

Friend Thank You

More stickers and things. The sticker stripes on this card were called vellum and were self-adhesive. They were very old. They seemed just the same as Washi tape to me, but came on a sticker sheet. I added them to a card base, just to use them up. I also have lots of these sheer leaves, so I added a couple of them. The sentiment is from Gina K and I sponged a bit of green ink around the edges and popped the panel up on foam squares.

Thinking of You Flowers

Another "throwback" card. A picture of one like this appeared on our Echo Show and I thought I needed to make another one. The watering can stamp is a very old one from Stampin' Up! I colored it with Copics, then I cut it, and the matting layer, with Nestabilities. I popped the panel up with foam squares. The sentiment is from Gina K.

(Mostly) Shaped Cards

Here are some more cards I made with pieces I cut when my friend, Cheryl, was over a few weeks ago. She brought over these three sets of dies. Each set cuts out the letters, the shadow for the letters and the shape around the shadow. I finished each of these cards very simply. This first one is the only that I added a bit of "decoration" to. To make it, I used a scalloped circle Nestability and then snipped down towards the center at each scallop. I punched a small yellow circle, added some black dots and then some Star Dust Stickles for the flower center.
This one has a glittery die-cut.
This one has a purplish-metallic sentiment.

This one and the next one just use the letter die-cuts. I used ink blending on them.

Now I have used all the pieces from that visit, except for several embossed backgrounds. They have been added to my "Card Parts" book to use at a further date. Thanks, Cheryl, for a fun day and lots of parts to use! :-)

Simple Birthday

A simple card made with a couple pieces that were sitting around on my table. The green piece is from when my friend, Cheryl, was here a few weeks ago. This is the size it was. The embossed white piece in the center was done with an Altenew die a long time ago. The thin purple strips were in a jar of thin pieces to use as trim. I added them along the sides of the green and also the white. The sentiment is from Gina K. A very simple card, but I do like it. And more of my table cleaned off. Now I have some embossed backgrounds from when Cheryl was here that I have to use or file in my "Card Parts" book.

Tri-Fold Birthday

It feels so good to have a little time in my stamping room! I was working on these flowers a couple weeks ago, and I finally got them finished. I started this card when my friend, Cheryl, visited me. She brought the parts to make the card - I just had to add the "decoration." I used a new-to-me stencil from Gina K on the background of the oval. Very hard to see, but it's there - bricks. The flowers and leaves are from an Altenew set. The sentiment is from Gina K, also. Some of the flowers and the sentiment are mounted on foam squares. The card opens from both sides and there is an oval on the inside, also. Thanks, Cheryl!

Metallic Painted Flowers

Finally - a blog post!! Life is just getting in the way of me spending time in my stamping room. Good things, though - nothing bad, fortunately. When my friend, Cheryl, came over a few weeks ago, she embossed one of these backgrounds and then painted with metallic paints. It was gorgeous! So, I finally got a chance to paint one of mine with metallic paints. It was easier than I thought it was going to be. So, that's it! I cut it down, matted it, and added a die-cut sentiment. (In linking to her blog just now, I see that her card is her most recent post. AND - I almost used the same "Best Wishes" die! Luckily, my scrap of rose colored cardstock was not quite big enough for me to cut that out of, so I went with something smaller.) The embossing folder is from Altenew.

Three More Die-Cut Sailboats

Using the same die as yesterday, here are the three other cards that I made. For this one, I used ink blending again, but only used blues. I also added a little ink around the edges of the stamped sentiment, which is from Papertrey Ink.
These next two cards are almost identical except for the placement of the sentiment, and the placement of the fold. I used patterned paper behind each of these. I thought the clouds in the paper worked quite well.

Sailing Off into the Sunset

My friend, Cheryl, came over on Saturday to play. We had such a great time! She brought over some things for me to use and one of them was the die that cut out this great sailboat. She also cut one for herself and made a card like this with ink-blending behind the die-cut. So pretty! I embossed the background with a cloud folder. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. It's popped up on foam squares. Tomorrow I will share the other three cards that I made with my die-cuts. Thanks, Cheryl!

Turquoise Christmas

Another Christmas card for today. It came about because I noticed my Washi tape on my table and saw the snowflakes on the turquoise and thought I should use it. Also, I came across the "swoosh of paint" stamp and wanted to use that, also. The swoosh and the sentiment are from Gina K. The ornament and branch stamp is from Inkadinkado. I wish I had stamped it slightly lower, but it will do.

Christmas Rub-ons

When going through my stickers to decide to toss, give away or use, I came across a package of winter rub-ons from Stampin' Up! I used the bird on a branch and several snowflakes on this card. I also used a white gel pen to doodle around the edges. I matted the panel with white and popped it up on some foam tape. Sorry the photo is sort of washed out.

May Calendar Page

And poof ... it's May! It's really hard to tell that by our Minnesota weather this year! The rose and leaves were made with Gina K stamps and dies. The patterned paper is from Recollections. That's about it.
