Happy Anniversary, Sheri and Bill!

This card is for another member of my Yahoo! group and a faithful reader and commenter of my blog, Sheri. Their anniversary is today. Happy Anniversary, Sheri!

The background paper is by Kanban - so beautiful. I matted with shimmery gold paper. I stamped the images using Gina K's set called Elegant Post on textured cream-colored paper, embossed with Detail Gold embossing powder, and matted with the same gold paper. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, is also matted with gold, and is mounted on Dimensionals. Here is another view so you can see a little bit of the shine of the embossing, the gold paper, and the patterned paper.

SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper Challenge

I'm a week late, but I REALLY wanted to make a card for last week's Featured Stamper - Linda, otherwise known as morningsun47. She has such a great gallery and is awesome about leaving comments:) I chose to case this card.

My basket of apples is from Repeat Impressions. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics, and cut it out. It's mounted on Dimensionals. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch for my "tablecloth." Instead of twine, I used my Martha Stewart scoring board. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

One random winner for the month will win a full sheet of unmounted rubber of their choice.

For my card, I started by stamping the deer (4221-K, Deer Family Silhouette) and the sentiment with black ink. I brayered the entire piece with More Mustard, then masked off the moon. I then brayered with various shades of brown, yellow and orange to finish off the background. I matted with black cardstock.

You still have another week to participate in the WHAT IF? Wednesday challenge. The details for that challenge can be found here.

Butterfly Thank You

Well, here is a card for today. I'm not really very proud of it.

I think I must have stamped and cut out this butterfly (from Repeat Impressions)a month or so ago. I had also cut the matting with a Nestability. It sat on my desk and I would pick it up once in a while to figure out what to do with it. I finally finished it today. I added another matting layer between the butterfly and the die-cut square and covered the butterfly with Stickles. I also sponged the edges of the layers with Perfect Plum, from Stampin' Up! and hand-doodled the design around the edges of the butterfly layer. The bottom layer is embossed with a Sizzix folder and textured yellow cardstock. I sanded it down and sponged it with Perfect Plum. The sentiment is from an Inkadinkado set, matted, and mounted on a Dimensional on the right side only. The left side is simply glued.

"Watercolor" Thinking of You

I found one more card that I don't think I've shared yet. So, here it is:)

The stamps are all from Gina K's set called Stenciled Spring. I colored the stamps with Stampin' Up! markers (from the old Earth Elements family), misted the watercolor paper, and stamped. I matted with Old Olive cardstock. Another extremely simple card. I hope I take some time for stamping soon. I was ahead on my cardmaking for a while, but I have made pretty much nothing for a couple weeks. I'm missing it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

For my card, I used a Lifestyle Crafts die to cut my circular shapes. I embossed the white with my Swiss Dots folder. The butterfly is from Repeat Impressions and I paper-pieced it with the same dotted paper as my circle. I matted with solid orange. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions, also.

We'd love to see you join us!

It's All I've Got:-)

Still nothing new, so I'll share this quick card I made for my husband to send out. As I've mentioned several times before, he likes white and embossing.

The flowers and sentiment are on the same stamp - from the dollar bin at Michael's purchased a while ago. I colored the flowers with a Cameo Coral marker from Stampin' Up! The matting is Cameo Coral also. I added a few lines with my Scor-Pal and the background embossing was done with a Swiss Dots folder. I also added some brown pearls for the flower centers and raised the flower panel on Dimensionals.

I've had laryngitis since Saturday and I'm pretty sick of it! I've never had it before and I don't care to have it again. It's really not as bad as the tickle in my throat, though, which I've had for a about a week and a half! There, enough whining! I forgot I didn't do a card yesterday for the Repeat Impressions Stamp of the week (which is Swan and is available for 50% off . Details can be found here.) but I'll have one tomorrow for the WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

No Card - Just Miscellaneous Stuff:-)

Well, I thought I had another card to share, but I'm all out:) I will at least have one on Monday and Wednesday for you.

So, I'll ramble a little bit. Friday was a fun day. I met a blog follower from Wisconsin. She was in the area for a wedding and we met up for lunch and a short visit. Thanks again, so much, Donna! I sure enjoyed seeing your Maine scrapbook and your beautiful cards.

Our household has grown. Nope, no new pets.  Our son and daughter-in-law sold their house (in a week!) and haven't found a new one they like yet. So, they and Owen have temporarily moved in with us. It's kind of fun to have them around:) So far it's working out very well.

Today we'll be visiting with my parents and my brother and sister-in-law from Atlanta. That will be a fun time, too!

Oh, and today is our daughter's birthday. Happy Birthday, Erin!! I suppose I could have posted the card we sent her, but I don't think I even took a picture of it. It was very similar to one I sent to a friend recently.

I guess I did have a card, now that I think about it. My husband's aunt passed away and I made a quick sympathy card for her family. I haven't cropped the picture yet, so I'll save it for next week when I'll need some cards for posting.

I hope things are going well for you all, my faithful readers. I thank you for all of your visits and your comments. They mean a lot to me.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Yet Another Daisy Birthday!

I'm running out of cards to share with you again, so I'll share this one.

I used up the last daisy from my Martha Stewart package.  Yippee! It feels good to use something up. I used some Die Cuts With a View yellow patterned paper and matted it with black. The sentiment is from Gina K. Simple but effective, I think.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Happy Anniversary, Harriet and Bruce. OOPS!

Here's a card similar to the Cheery Yellow Flowers from a few days ago.  I used the same stamp set from Gina K.  The only problem with this card, is that I made it for my friend Harriet's ANNIVERSARY! I guess I'm so used to making birthday cards, I forgot to stamp this with anniversary greetings. That and we have had so much going on. Sorry again, Harriet!

The set I used is called Vogue Vases. I paper pieced the flowers and the vase. All the patterned paper is old Stampin' Up!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

My little lamb and the sentiment are both from Repeat Impressions. I embossed the frame with a Quickutz folder, then I brayered on some light pink ink. I colored the lamb with markers and added the gingham bow.

Birthday Blessings

I have another card to share that I made last week while I was on a roll.  This one uses Gina K Stenciled Spring again.

I inked up the stamp with markers - Always Artichoke, Cameo Coral and Close to Cocoa. I added small brown pearls for the flower centers. I had a piece of Cameo Coral cardstock with a circle cut out of it, so I used it over the flowers. Then I took a piece of Always Artichoke and cut the scalloped circle out of it and embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment is from the same set. It's matted and mounted on Dimensionals and I used the small brown pearls to dot the i's.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

For my card, I stamped the whale in black and used a light gray chalk to color him a little bit. I cut him out and mounted him on foam squares. I embossed the textured blue cardstock with a Fiskars texture plate and matted with black. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions, also.  It's matted with black and also mounted on foam squares.

Happy Birthday, Vicki!

I feel it would be awful of me to do my blog post without mentioning the horrible events of ten years ago. Let us never forget.

Today's card is for my friend, Vicki, whose birthday is today.  Happy Birthday, Vicki!  For this card I used the same stamps as a few days ago.  This one is just straight stamping, though. The stamps are from Gina K.  I colored them with markers before stamping.  The flower centers are Flower Soft. The lines are scored with my Scor-Pal and the matting is Always Artichoke.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Watercolor Anniversary Flowers

Sorry for the quick post.  Too much going on around here!

I colored the vase of flowers (from Gina K's Stenciled Spring) with Stampin' Up! markers from the Soft Subtles family, then stamped on moistened watercolor paper.  I cut with a Nestability and matted with a Nestability, also.  I embossed the bottom layer (Certainly Celery) with a Swiss Dots folder.  The sentiment is from Verve. I added the pearls for the flower centers.

Even though I have more cards to share, I'm not sure I'l have time for a post for Sunday, but I'll try:)  If not, I'll be back Monday for sure, with Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Cheery Yellow Flowers

This card is for my daughter-in-law's mother, whose birthday is on Tuesday.

I used my new Gina K stamps (Vogue Vases) for the flowers and vase. I stamped the flowers with Old Olive on the white, and then again with black on the patterned yellow paper. I cut out the flowers and glued them to the green-stamped image and added the pearl centers. I stamped the inside of the vase with yellow and then stamped the outline over it with black and cut it out. Then I glued it to the flowers piece. I matted with Old Olive and added a scored (with my Scor-Pal) piece of Old Olive near the bottom. The sentiment is from another Gina K set called Stenciled Spring.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

I made this card yesterday for SplitCoastStampers Sketch Challenge #349.

I started with white daisies and sprayed them with blue glimmer mist. I added the centers, which I cut with glittery yellow cardstock. The sentiment is from Gina K and stamped with Versamagic Night Sky. I embossed the background panel with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The matting is Enchanted Evening by Papertrey Ink.

I used the Noel stamp from repeat Impressions, found on this page. I stamped in black and colored with markers. I added a little sparkle to the flower center. I matted with black and mounted on Dimensionals. The paper is some I won as blog candy quite a while ago. I added the ribbon, which I thought matched quite well.

Two Cards - Same Stamps

I have two cards to share with you today. They use the same stamps and technique. I will have another later using the same stamps.  I just have to wait to post it until it has been received.  (Yep, it's for you, Vicki:) )

I tried something new.  I've never seen it done before, but I'm sure it has been.  I inked up my stamp (a new set from Gina K.  I splurged and bought a three sets and got one set free, plus a couple bonus stamps.  Yippee!) with Versamark, then used markers to color the flower center and leaves. Then I brayered over it with Almost Amethyst ink from Stampin' Up! I matted with white cardstock and also Old Olive. For the sentiment, I used a piece that I cut off from the main image. I stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiment is mounted on Dimensionals.
For this second card, I used the same technique. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark before brayering, though. The white stripe down the left side is cardstock. I matted with Old Olive again.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Thanks, Owen!

I made this card for our grandson.  He is amazingly thoughtful for being only eight and a half months old:)  See the beautiful flowers and vase (I wish I could have gotten a better picture) and card I got from him.

To make the black frame on the front of the card, I cut the black shimmery paper using a rounded-corner Quickutz die and adhered it to my card front.  Then I used the next size smaller die and cut the inside.  The bird is on the inside of the card.  I paper-pieced him and did some coloring with Copics. I also added a googly eye.  Here you can see the inside of the card where I stamped the thanks.  The bird and "tweet" sentiment are from Fiskars and the thanks is from Heidi Grace.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

SplitCoastStampers Clean and Simple and Technique Challenges

I made this card for two SplitCoastStampers challenges - the Clean and Simple challenge to use Kraft and primary/bright colors, and the Technique Lover's challenge to use your embossing folder and a solid stamp to do "embossed kissing."  You can find the tutorial for that here.

My flowers (from Stampin' Up!'s A Beautiful Life set) were inked up with Stampin' Up!'s Summer Sun. I inked up my Cuttlebug folder with Real Red to use for "kissing." I cut the flowers out and used Real Red and a punch for the centers. I mounted the flowers on Dimensionals. I made the design on the white layer with my tracing wheel (remember those things???) and my Scor-Pal. The matting is Real Red and the sentiment is a rub-on. The card base is PTI Kraft.

September Calendar Page

I think I say this every time a new month rolls around, but oh my goodness - the months are flying by!!!

For this month's calendar page, I used a cheap plastic stencil to do the leaves. I stippled them with Stampin' Up! inks - Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Really Rust.  I drew the leaves' veins and the squiggly lines with a Soft Suede marker. The sentiment is from Stampendous.

If you are interested in making your own calendars, you can find my files at the top of my blog page, under the title.  Just follow the link. I need to get started on my 2012 sets.  I can't believe I don't even have them printed out yet!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
