December Anniversary

This is the card I made for our daughter-in-law's parents 49th Anniversary. I thought it was appropriate to use a poinsettia for a December anniversary. The flower was done with a Gina K stencil set. I used three shades of red and topped it off with some gold foil, done with Deco Foil Transfer Gel through the last stencil. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is embossed with detail gold embossing powder. The sentiment panel has very light color added around the edges and is popped up on foam squares.

Christmas Cards for our Kids

Oops - I was mistaken! I have one more Christmas card!! This is the one I made for our daughter and son and their spouses. (I made two of them.) I wanted something a little more special. The finished card is 5 x 7 inches. The penguins and holly stamps are from Gina K. They are stamped, cut out with dies, colored with Copic markers and popped up on foam squares. I added some embossing across the middle with a Cuttlebug border folder and then added score lines with my Scor-Pal on each side of the embossing. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and the gingham papers are from Gina K.

One Last Christmas Card

Seems I have a hard time stopping making Christmas cards, even though I have more than I need and Christmas has arrived. But, here is my last one for the year. The sentiment is from an old wood-mounted Hero Arts set. The patterned paper is all from Gina K. Barely visible are three little Nuvo drops under the sentiment.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!!

Happy Hanukkah!

Here is my one Hanukkah card. I used stencils for the little bits of stripe and the stars. The stars are done with Deco Foil Transfer Gel and foil, with my laminator. I added thin strips of silver glitter paper on the top and bottom of the image panel. The sentiment is from Gina K. I foiled that, also, and it's popped up on foam squares. Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate!

Repurposing "Packaging"

Oh my gosh - it's December 16 and I had forgotten to change my background to something Christmassy!

A friend (thanks, Leslie!) sent me a Christmas card, and she had used this embossed background as a protective layer for the embellishments on her card. I certainly couldn't just toss it!! So, here it is - cut in half and used on two cards. I used two ancient Hero Arts rubber stamps for these flowers. I had gotten them in the two bins of stamps I was gifted earlier this year. I thought since I kept them, I should use them. The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink and the panels are mounted on foam squares.

Happy Birthday, Owen!

I made this card this morning for our grandson who is turning twelve today. Happy Birthday, Owen! He plays bass guitar and just moved up to the next level last night. Congrats to him! The inside of the card wishes him a happy birthday and also congratulations. I found the image on-line and printed it out. I also printed another copy and fussy-cut the "Guitar Hero" and popped it up on foam squares. The sentiment was cut with a die. The finished card is five and a half inches by seven.

Happy December Birthday!

This card is for our daughter-in-law, whose birthday is today. The snowflakes are embossed with silver and cut out. I also added a slight bit of light blue to the centers. The largest one is popped up on foam squares. The sentiment was printed on my computer and foiled. (It's shiny silver.) I embossed the silver strip and the blue background piece with Sizzix folders.

Flowery Birthday

An advantage of waking up REALLY early is time in my stamping room. Here is card I made a couple days ago. The flower stamp is from a Gina K set that I got from a friend. I embossed it with pewter embossing powder and colored it with Zig Clean Color Markers. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things, also embossed with pewter. I used a Gina K stencil for the stripes on the sides. I also added thin metallic, turquoise stickers along the edges of the white panel.

December Calendar Page

And, my last calendar page for 2022. I used Stampin' Up! stamps for both the image and the sentiment for this one. I embossed them both in gold and colored the image with very light-colored Copic markers. I added the thin metallic sticker strips along the top and bottom of the image panel. Happy December!!

Christmas #3

And another Christmas card for today. The punched border on the bottom has been in my card parts for years, and was in my crate of Christmas stamps and papers so I used it! I added the green paper underneath it and also the red Nuvo drops. The sentiment is from Gina K and is silver embossed. The papers are from The Paper Studio and I also added a thin silver strip of glitter paper.

Christmas #2

Two more simple Christmas cards. They both use unbranded stamps which are in my giveaway pile now! I don't really like the stamps that came with the set. It came with dies and the tree die doesn't even match the size of the stamp! I cut it out by hand. I embossed the background on the first one with a Sizzix folder. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession, I think. The image is gold embossed and I used gold glitter cardstock.
I embossed the trees with green embossing powder and added Nuvo drops. The sentiment is from Gina K. I used foil on the pre-printed strip.

Christmas Cards - #1

I've had a LITTLE time to spend in my stamping room lately, and I've made a few Christmas cards. Mostly, my Christmas cards just "happen" throughout the year, but this could be the first time that I've actually gotten out my Christmas stamps and papers and sat down to make the cards. I gave away a lot to a thrift store, so I have more to make. They are all quite simple, though. One of these days MAYBE I'll make something a little more different, or fancy, or complicated or ... For now, these will do. The image stamps on each are from Recollections and the sentiment on this first one is from Papertrey Ink. The paper is from The Paper Studio. I used gold embossing powder and also some thin glittery gold cardstock.

The Last of the Square Papers!

Here is the last of the small, square papers I got from my friend, Vicki, many years ago. All cards are basically the same with the same sentiment, but slightly different colors or layouts. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. On two of them, I ink-blended over the design - this one and one other.

Red and Gold Anniversary

A few years ago, a friend gave me a couple packages of small papers. They are 4 x 4 inches. They are all such pretty patterns. I think I have used up most of them, but I really want to get them all used up. These red patterned pieces are three that I had left. I matted them with red and added gold-embossed sentiments. The card bases are ivory. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

November Calendar Page

My November calendar page. The image is from Stampin' Up! I stamped on white cardstock and cut the image out right along the edges. I used Versamark ink and embossed with pewter embossing powder. I used Copic markers for the coloring.

Happy Halloween!

Wow, I almost forgot to make Halloween cards for the grandkids! Oops! I put together these five cards in about a half hour. A record for me, for sure. They are nothing special whatsoever, but they will work to hold the little bit of cash that the kids get. The papers are all Gina K, and the stamps are, also. That's about it. Happy Halloween.

Happy Anniversary to our Son and Daughter-in-Law

Here is the card I made for our son and daughter-in-law for their 16th anniversary. The background has been done for a long time and was in my parts. It had been done with my Letterpress. I keep thinking I should use it again, but every time I get it out to use it, I remember why I don't like it! LOL! I matted it, added an embossed strip across the bottom, and added a layered, die-cut sentiment. This card is 5 1/2 inches square.

Thanksgiving - Using Up Paper #5

And here is the last card - finally using up the Lasting Impressions patterned paper I got from a friend several years ago. Thanks, Vicki! I told you I would use it up. 😊 The center panel is a slightly "textured" pattern. I added very thin cardstock strips between the two patterns. I used a decorative circle die to cut the base for the ephemera pieces. The ephemera is from Gina K. The front pumpkin is mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from Gina K, also.

Anniversary - Using Up Paper #2

Two more cards using up the Lasting Impressions patterned paper from a friend. Identical except for the "adornments." This first one has iridescent sequins and the second one has Nuvo drops. Both designs are from the package. I added thin, metallic sticker strips beside the dotted/heart paper. The sentiments are cut out of light purplish glitter cardstock and layered up.

Anniversary - Using Up Paper #1

I got some Lasting Impressions patterned paper from a friend several years. I finally got it all used up!! I will be sharing the cards over the next several days. The papers on this first card are the dotted piece and the striped floral piece. I matted the dotted piece with red and also added a thin strip of red  beside the floral piece. I die-cut the sentiment from red glitter cardstock and also two other pieces from white for layers.
All of the papers on this card are from the same pack of patterned paper. I added thin strips of red between each pattern. The sentiment is die-cut from a light purplish glitter cardstock and layered up for dimension.

Wishing You Joy

Another Christmas card for today's post. I had this little embossed piece leftover from my December calendar page for next year. I matted it and added it to a card front. The sentiment is from Gina K. The snowman was stamped, die-cut, colored with Copic markers and mounted on foam squares. I think he's from Recollections.

Merry Little Christmas

I spent a little time in my stamping room yesterday and made three Christmas cards. Since I have so little to share with you, I will post them on three different days. The stamping was done with Versamark and embossed with gold. I matted with gold and popped up the panel.

I also finished up my 2023 calendars yesterday morning and got them all ready to wrap and mail out. Yippee!

Birthday Flowers

While looking through my stamps for something else, I came across this stamp set. It was one of the first clear sets I ever purchased. I can't remember who it's by. I stamped the vase and the stems with the set. The tiny flowers were die-cut with the same Stampin' Up! set that I used yesterday, borrowed from a friend in the summer. I added a sticker sentiment, matted the image panel and mounted it on foam squares. I added the cheery yellow dotted paper on the left side, and also added a thin strip of gold glitter cardstock alond the edge of the patterned paper.

Alcohol Ink Birthday

I started making this background with my alcohol inks when a friend was over. It wasn't looking good, but I kept it. I added more inks later, and I'm pleased enough with it. I simply cut the background and the matting with my Waffle Flower rectangles dies and added it to a card base. The sentiment "Sending" was made a while ago with Stampin' Up! dies borrowed from a friend. The "Birthday Wishes" was stamped using the same set. The "Sending" is mounted on foam squares.

Baby Boy Cards - Part One

Here are three of the baby boy cards I made for my neighbor and a friend of hers. Not much for details necessary, I believe. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me.

I might possibly add a little more coloring to the image on this one.
