Another Baby Girl

Here is the other card I made for my neighbor when she asked me for baby girl cards. I cut out a teddy bear from baby girl-ish patterned paper from a very old Die Cuts With a View pad. I sponged a bit of pink ink around the edges and added black "nail heads" for the eyes. The ovals were cut with a LifeStyle crafts die set. The patterned paper on the bottom was from the same matstack as the teddy bear, and I also added a thin strip of pink above it. Now, on to the baby boy cards! Hopefully I can get them done soon.

Daisy Thinking of You

I really love daisy cards, and especially those done in yellow, white and black! I pulled out this die to share with a friend, so I quick used it first. The die cuts the flowers, but leaves them in the cardstock. I added yellow enamel dots for the centers. The centers were cut out with the die and I had wanted the yellow polka dotted paper to show through, but I decided that I wanted a little more. I added thin black cardstock strips beside the daisy panel. The patterned paper is from Die Cuts With a View, the daisy die is from QuicKutz/Lifestyle Crafts and the sentiment is from Maya Road.

With Sympathy

Three more sympathy cards and three more card parts used up. The stamped images were in my card parts book. I'm not sure who the maker of the stamp is, as I stamped these many years ago. I added the sentiment to each one - from Bo Bunny. The patterned paper on these cards is from various companies - 7 Gypsies, Gina K and Die Cuts With a View. I also added thin cardstock strips along each of the stamped panels.

And the last - for now! - of the "critter" cards. This little fawn is so sweet and adorable. She and the leaves are mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is, also. It is white-embossed on green cardstock. The patterned paper (from Die Cuts With a View) is matted with the same color green.

Thanks for Owl You Do

And the third of seven of these cards - all super simple. The branch and the owl images are from the same set from Gina K. I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and mounted the owl on foam squares. I cut the image panel with a stitched rectangle die. The patterned paper is from the same matstack as the rest, from Die Cuts With a View. More to come!

Bear Hug

I have finally gotten a chance to work with my June (?) stamps from Gina K Designs. Yippee! I have made seven cards with the cute critters from one of the sets. I may or may not double up on them per blog posts, depending on if I start accumulating cards to post or not. But, for now, here is the first one. I did the coloring on the bear and branch with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, and the leaves with Copics. I mounted all of the images on foam squares. The patterned paper is from an old matstack from Die Cuts With a View. I also added a thin strip of brown cardstock above the patterned paper.

Mother's Day

I met a friend for lunch on Wednesday (Cheryl) and gave her about seventy cards for the thrift store she volunteers at. I don't usually make Mother's Day cards anymore, but I thought I should add a couple of those. Should have been more, but our meeting came up very suddenly and I didn't have time for more. Here is what I came up with. Both used patterned paper from Die Cuts With a View. You can't see it in the photos, but each pattern has parts that look heat-embossed. The sentiment on each is from Verve. I made two of the second one.

For this first one, I stamped the sentiment on vellum and embossed with silver. I wrapped the vellum around the patterned piece before attaching to the card front. I also added thin shimmery silver strips to each edge of the vellum.

For this one, I stamped the sentiment on slightly textured ivory cardstock and embossed with gold. I colored the tiny flower with an orange marker. I added a piece of gold tape between the patterned layers.

Finally!

I have actually spent a fair amount of time in my stamping room lately, but all I've come up with is more card parts! It felt good to finally put something together and make a card. I'm not quite sure where my mojo is, but it will be back, I'm sure!

All of the stamping on this card (flowers, leaves and sentiment) are from the same set from Maya Road. I "fussy-cut" the flowers and leaves. I used the lighter green ink to color the matting for the sentiment. I'm not sure where the paper is from for the bottom, but the top patterned paper is from Die Cuts With a View. I added a piece of gold foil tape between the blue and green patterned papers. I mounted the front-most rose on foam squares.

Here are two more cards that I made for our church. They are identical except for the patterned paper background. The stamps I used are from Papertrey Ink. I used Kaleidacolor ink for the flowers. I added Wink of Stella to the flowers. The background papers are from Die Cuts With a View.

The stamps on this card are all from Gina K. I used ivory card base and panel. I cut the frame with a Spellbinders die. The patterned paper is very old and is from Die Cuts With a View. The image panel is popped up with foam squares.

Split Gate-Fold Card

This is another card I made after watching a Jennifer McGuire video. I think it's called a split gate-fold card. I started with the scalloped matting. I had cut it out of purple glitter cardstock. I looked and looked to find some patterned cardstock that would match it. I finally found this from a Die Cuts With a View matstack. Then I realized that it hardly showed! Oh well. I used a Spellbinders die to cut the circles out of ivory cardstock. I embossed the circles with a Cuttlebug folder. I scored them, folded them in half, and added them to the scalloped circle. I punched a small hole in the circles for the knot of the bow to fit into.

Loss of a Furry Friend

A friend from my stamping group lost a furry family member last week. She had had him for almost twenty years! This is the card I made and sent to her. The image was already stamped and ready to use. It's from Inkadinkado. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I matted with black. The pretty, striped paper is from Die Cuts With a View.

Simple "Guy" Birthday

When my friend, Bonnie, was here last week, she brought over a card in this design. Hers was a very feminine card, but I needed a couple of cards for nephews. The front of this card is open above the patterned paper. The patterned paper is from an old stack from Die Cuts With a View. I cut the sentiment and the circles with dies. The sentiment is layered for more dimension and stability.

My last watercolored card for a little while. For this one, I drew the image and then watercolored it. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I added a couple black "nail heads." The patterned paper is from Die Cuts With a View. I also did some "doodling" around the edges of the image panel.

Watercolor Flowers

Time just flies by, doesn't it? It seems like we are busy most of the time, but I can't really account for it. I haven't spent much time in my stamping room again lately. But, while walking on the treadmill, I have been watching some drawing and watercolor videos on YouTube. They make it look so easy! :) 

I love this simple image by Inkadinkado. I have used it in a few different ways. This time, I stamped it on watercolor paper with Versamark ink and embossed it with black powder. Then I very simply watercolored it. The sentiment is by Inky Antics and is also black-embossed. I mounted the panel on foam tape. The tiny-striped paper in the background is from a pad from Die Cuts With a View.

Another project that I did in the past week or so is to go through a few of the cards I've received and "repurpose" them. I turned them into new cards and donated them to our church. I figured it was better to have someone else enjoy them, too, rather than have them just sit in a box in my room. I still have TONS more sitting in boxes, though! LOL.

Black, White and Red Birthday

Last week I went to JoAnn's because they had some things 60% off, and I had a gift card. I bought some more paper, of all things! LOL! So, I wanted to use some right away. I got some foil cardstock and some patterned double-sided paper. I used both on this card. The black is foil. Both of them are from Die Cuts With a View. I went "old-school" and added an eyelet again. Also, I folded down the corner to show the back of the cardstock. I matted with a textured red cardstock and mounted the panel on foam squares.

The other day when I was looking through some books and folders, I came across a few cards (purchased ones that I had received) that I had wanted to try to recreate in some fashion. Here is a card that I made based on one of those cards.

The card base is ivory. I had a terrible time trying to get the pale stripes to show up on the right, and this was the best I could do. The card opens from the left side. The card front is cut off one inch from the right edge. I added a piece of Washi tape along the edge of the right side of the card front. The pale-striped patterned paper is actually on the inside of the card. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set and is stamped with a bluish gray ink. The sentiment was cut and embossed with a Memory Box stitched rectangle die.
