Simple Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card to get in the mail today.  This is what I came up with.  It was for a male and his family, so it needed to be not "frilly."  And it needed to be quick.

The image and the sentiment are both from the Stampin' Up! set called Thoughts and Prayers.  I love that set.  (Except for the fact that it's double-mounted.  I don't like that at all!)  I stamped both with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink.  The patterned paper is from "The Slab III" which I got a few years ago at Michael's.  It would take me MANY years to use all the paper that I have!  The bottom layer of matting is Soft Suede, from SU!  I thought it needed just a little something more, so I did a  little piercing.  I also misted the image panel very lightly with gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water.  I love the subtle shimmer.

I may not be posting again for a week or so.  But, I shall return!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

That image makes a perfect sympathy card. Love the paper piercing on it too!

Stunning Sympathy card, Lynnette! I really like how you pierced the corners differently.

Oh this is a lovely Sympathy card. I think no frills for this type of card is perfect. I do like the paper peircing that you did. And I agree with you about the double mounted stamp which is why I do not own it. :)

So sorry you needed a sympathy card, but this one is certainly lovely! Thoughts and Prayers is my favorite set for these cards, and you've really showcased the tree beautifully!

Perfect card. Every element is done beautifully and the colors and image are spot on for the theme.
