Miscellaneous Chatter - A Brief Report of Vacation

I have no cards to share with you today!  I haven't gotten to do any stamping for over a week.  So, I thought I'd instead share a little bit of what I've been up to:)  (Actually, I threw together a quick card yesterday for a friend's anniversary, but I didn't even take the time to photograph it.)
We headed west - to North and South Dakota.  We spent the first couple nights at our daughter-in-law's parents' house in Bismarck.  My husband golfed in a charity golf tournament for the Make A Wish Foundation.  Then we headed further west and he golfed at an awesome course in Medora - in the Badlands of North Dakota.  I got to ride in/drive the cart there.  Oh my gosh, what a course!  We took the long loop through Teddy Roosevelt National Park the next day.  So very scenic, and we saw a herd of 100 - 150 buffalo.  Impressive!
From there we headed south to South Dakota.  We didn't realize it was Rally Week in Sturgis.   I could not even imagine that many motorcycles!  We camped two nights in Custer State Park.  We really only had a day and a half there, but it was great.  We hiked to the top of Harney Peak - the highest spot between the Pyrenees in Europe and the Rockies.  It was a very HOT walk and about seven miles up and down and up and down, but definitely worth it for the view.  We had made the trip up there a few years ago, too.  I could tell I was seven years older, though! :)

We got home Wednesday night and ran some errands Thursday and just enjoyed being home.  Laundry was on my agenda yesterday and then we went to watch the Twins win last night and got to see some very fantastic fireworks.  I have cards I need to get done, and I just don't know when I'm going to fit them in!

Sorry to bother you with a personal post, but thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Lynette,
Beautiful pictures! Many years ago when our kids were little, we made the mistake of being near Sturgis, too, during motorcycle week! I didn't think I'd ever see so many motorcycles in the same place, again! We did many years later in Daytona!
Sounds like you had an amazing trip! And thanks, again, for sharing these beautiful pictures.

Hugs, Suzie

Your pictures are making me anxious to head the Dakotas again. I just loved your pictures and have looked more than once. If you enjoyed seeing those buffalo you should go to the Annual Buffalo Roundup in Custer State park sometime....way more than 150. :) The last time we headed that way we were during the week before the Harley rally and still saw MANY Harley's already heading that way.

Looks as though you had a good time. I have never seen a buffalo up close. They certainly look big!
