Another Christmas Card

(Sorry - this post was scheduled for Sunday, but something went amiss.  So, you get it today instead, and I broke my streak of consecutive posting days. LOL!)  I went to Michael's last Monday to use my 50% off coupon, but I couldn't find anything I "needed," so I just ended up getting a stamp from the dollar bin!  The stamp I got was the holly swirl on this card.  It's by CraftSmart.)

I stamped it somewhat randomly on the cardstock, then colored it with a Stampin' Up! Old Olive marker.  I added Ruby Red Sparkles - like Stickles but old and from PSX - for the berries.  When I had finished that, I really didn't want to cover it up!  So, I took a piece of SU! vellum, punched the edge with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch, scored a double set of lines, added the ribbon (New Leaf from Papertrey Ink), scored more lines, added the sentiment from Repeat Impressions and embossed with detail black embossing powder and then scored more lines.  I had intended to put the vellum piece the long way, but changed my mind at the very last minute.  I adhered the vellum very solidly under the ribbon, and then added a couple tiny spots of glue in the upper corners.  It's matted with Old Olive cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Beautiful card. Truly shows that the stamps don't have to me expensive to make a truly great card. I will head to Michael's today and see what I can find in the bin.

Really, really like this card! I'm going to be looking for that stamp when I'm at Michael's today to exchange some wool I bought for my other hobby.

Love this card as I usually do with all your card. At first glance, thought the vellum was a sheer ribbon and the green was velvet! You are still such an inspiration to me- your cards are always special.

Before I even started reading your post, I was thinking how pretty that holly stamp was! And to find out it was a Michaels dollar stamp... I have not looked in Michaels dollar bin in a month or more so I guess I'd better get on the ball! LOL!! Your card is gorgeous!
