Christmas in Red and White

I had cut this bow from some foiled leftovers. I embossed this card front with a Darice folder. The sentiment is from Avery Elle. I also added three red 'nail heads."

The "joy" had also been cut with foiled leftovers. I had enough for two of these cards. Same embossing folder as the first card, and some more nail heads.

Same Die as Yesterday - but Different

I used the same die for these cards as I used on yesterday's cards. But, first I removed the centermost part from each section. So the inserts on these are a bit larger than yesterday. If I want to use them, I still have the pieces and I just have to cut them separately instead of all together. The sentiment is black and shiny.

And here are the "negative" pieces from the first card. (Actually, this is the first card and the first one is the negative. LOL!) The sentiment was recently cut out of some scraps.

A New Die

I just bought this die (and two similar ones in the set) on Amazon. I had to use them right away. The die cuts all of the pieces. I used three different cardstocks for these cards. For this first one, the patterned paper is the star of the show. I pieced it back together and added the sentiment which I had die-cut out of a scrap of shiny black.

I embossed the solid color panels on this card with a Darice folder. I also used that lovely set from Taylored Expressions for the flowers and leaves. The sentiment is from Gina K, I believe.
On this one, I also embossed with the same Darice folder. It's just like the second one, but different pieces are different colors. The sentiment was foiled and is from Gina K. The flowers and the sentiment are popped up.

Christmas and Hello There

I had a few scraps laying around so I used them to die cut some sentiments. The two sentiments on this post were some of them. The ornament on this first card was also laying around. It was a partial from a couple weeks ago. I cut around it. The sentiment and the bow were cut from the negative hot foil piece. I matted with white and popped up the panel.

This sentiment was also die-cut from a scrap. I colored the leaves with a white pen and then used a Copic marker to make them green. I matted the sentiment on some white cardstock and used patterned paper to cover the cardfront.

Ancient Vellum

When I first started stamping back in about 2002, there was a dollar store fairly close to me (close enough for it to be worthwhile to drive there!) that had lots of card-making supplies. I used to buy 8 1/2 x 11 inch booklets of paper from Fiskars for $1.00. Some of these booklets had vellum with printed paper that coordinated with it. At some point, I separated them. Not sure if I still have the patterned paper or not! At any rate, I used up some of the vellum on these cards.

For this first one, i first glued a piece of purple cardstock on the cardfront and then added the vellum over that. I decided to use one of the Taylored Expressions flowers that I just love, and also a pre-stamped and die-cut sentiment from Gina K.

These two cards were made from one sheet of the vellum. I added some tannish paper underneath it. I stamped the sentiment and then used clear embossing powder on it.

These four cards were made from a single sheet of the vellum. Since the leaves and their placement is different on each one, I thought I'd share them all. The sentiment is from Gina K. I didn't emboss these - I just let them dry.

Single Flower Hello

This die-cut scalloped oval was in my pad of patterned paper, already cut out. I then had to use it. Right away I thought of this set from Taylored Expressions. I really do love the simple flowers and leaves in this set! I believe the foiled and die-cut sentiment is from Gina K.

Same Layout - Eight Times

My friend, Vicki, posted a card with this layout. (The post is from July 31.) I made eight of them. They are all here, as no two of them are identical. (Very similar - yes, but not quite the same.) The sentiments all came from my card parts. Some Gina K and some Stampin' Up! I believe. Sorry about the placement of the cards! I can't get blogger to put them where I want them!

Stenciled Sentiments

As promised, here are the other two sentiments that were created with a Taylored Expressions stencil set. This piece of patterned paper with the opening already cut in it seemed perfect for the sentiment. I added a few layers to pop up the die-cut.

I added extra layers to this sentiment, too, and added it to a piece of ancient patterned paper. As sometimes happens with photos - this matches better in real life.

Valentine's Day in August

I got these stickers in January with my $5 voucher from Michael's. Time to put them on cards. I used my small Cuttlebug folders to emboss a frame for each of them - four hearts and five squares. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. The stickers already had a lot of dimension.

And, all nine of them.

Letting the Paper Do the Work

I've had this 12 x 12 sheet of patterned paper with flocked flowers for about fifteen years. I recently came across it and thought it was time to cut it up, while I had it out. Otherwise it may have been buried for another 15 years! Each of these three cards fit into a legal size envelope. They are 4 x 9.25 inches. The sentiments all came from my parts. I think this first one is from Gina K. It was cut out with a Stampin' Up! Word Window punch. (I think that's what it's called.) I added a light touch of ink over it with a blending brush. In real life, it matches the pink wonderfully. I had also cut several extra layers for dimension.

The sentiment on this second one had been printed on my computer and then foiled with a laminator and matted with gold foil cardstock. It's popped up on foam squares.

And the sentiment on this third one had been done with my Glimmer Hot Foil system. It's mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper was the left-over and I matted it with a matching cardstock and placed it toward the left side of the card.

Hey

The stencil set that I used for the "Hey" is from Taylored Expressions, and was included in the card class that I took last fall. There are two other words that are made at the same time - "HOORAY!" and "just a note." Hopefully you will be seeing them soon so that they don't just sit on my table for ages. The radiating lines are a part of the "Hey" stenciling. The dies were included with the set. I used the die to cut the "Hey" out of the middle, then cut several more layers to pop it up before inserting it back into the radiating lines piece, which I had cut out with a circle die. I used a Darice embossing folder on the turquoise matting background.

More Birthday Flowers

This stamp set is from Gina K. It was my free gift for spending $75. I stamped the flowers and the circle (all one stamp) and then cut diagonally, but around the circle. Then I cut a mat for the bottom portion. I added the sentiment, which was in two pieces. ("Wishing you a very HAPPY" and "birthday" are separate. The set also includes other options.) I embossed a background piece with one of my favorite Darice folders. The little foil butterfly was die-cut in my card parts. The image panel is mounted on foam squares. I made two of these cards.

Even More Card Pieces

Here is the other frame that I had sitting on my table, which was done with the Glimmer Hot Foil system. The dandelion (?) is a rub-on. The sentiment stamp is from Gina K. I snipped off the lower right corner, to match the image panel.

This little light purple piece was just laying around. I added a rub-on to it, then matted with gold metallic cardstock. I added a few gold sequins because I messed up the rub-on. The background was embossed with a Spellbinders M-Bossibilities folder. Not sure where I got that!

August Calendar Page

Oh my gosh - it's August!! How did that happen?? Seems like the summer just started.

Here is my calendar page for the month. The image and sentiment stamps are both from My Favorite Things. I ink-blended the background before stamping and then did some slight coloring with Copics afterwards. I hope you all have a great month.

Using Up More Parts

I had two Glimmer hot-foiled frames sitting on my table - two different sizes. Here is the first one, finally used up. The flower is a stencil set from Gina K. The sentiment is from Gina K, also, and is stamped, die-cut and popped up on foam squares.

And, here is another. I had done this flower on thin cardstock, just to test it out. But, of course, I couldn't throw it out! So, I cut around it loosely, taped it to a panel, stamped the sentiment (from Concord and 9th), and then embossed with a Darice folder. Then I matted it and added it to the card base.

Two More Christmas Cards (Actually Three)

I've been working on using up some pieces that have been on my table for a while. I'm happy to say they are all now gone, and you'll be seeing them in the next few days. That is NOT to say that my card parts are all gone. Far from it! They are just filed in a book and now I have started putting some in little cases - the kind that fit photos and then the cases go into a storage box.

This Glimmer hot-foiled piece was what I was trying to use up on this first card. I had the frame, also. I used a new-to-me set from Gina K to stamp and die-cut the sentiment. It's one that stamps several at one time, and then cuts them all out with one pass through the die-cutter. Both the image panel and the sentiment are popped up on foam squares.

Very similar, but the stamps are from Echo Park. I added Versamark over the tree image and then clear embossing powder over that. I made two of these cards.

Game Controller Birthday

The game controller is from one of my newest Gina K stamp sets. I colored it quite simply with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Gina K, also. The white and black pieces with rounded corners were in my small pile of pieces to use. I popped up that panel with foam squares. I added some patterned paper and a thin black strip of cardstock to finish off the card.

Scraps

I don't like to throw scraps away, but sometimes I do. These two scraps made it on to cards, though. For this first one, I simply stamped the sentiment, from Gina K, on to the patterned paper and matted with black. I embossed a frame around it by embossing a cutting die by using the rubber mat. The entire layer is popped up on foam squares.

For this second one, I used an old flower stamp from PaperTrey Ink and cut it out. I added a bit of shading. Then I added FlowerSoft (yes, FlowerSoft!!) to the center. The sentiment is again from Gina K and I again matted with black. I embossed a white panel with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and matted that with black, also. The flower is popped up with a foam square.

Same Stamp, Different Color Schemes

Another stamp set from Gina K that I had to have when Gina had her great sale. I did it in three different versions - color-wise. Here is the middle colors. All the stramps are from Gina K. I used a thin metallic sticker between the image layer and the patterned paper.

Here is the bright one. I used a thin black cardstock strip on this one. Also, the image panel is mounted on foam squares.

And the pastel one. Again, a thin metallic sticker, and the panel is mounted on foam squares.

EDITED TO ADD: I got the stickers on Amazon. They are "Paper Wishes - Dazzle Stickers."

More Altenew Flowers

Here are the other two stamped and die-cut images from Altenew. (I posted the first one a few days ago.) This one was colored with Copics markers. The sentiment is from Gina K and is stamped and die-cut. Both the flowers and the sentiment are popped up with foam squares. I embossed the patterned paper background with a Darice folder and then rubbed white ink lightly over it.

This one I took out of my trash. I had watercolored it and never liked it. When I was looking for something else, I rescued it. I still don't like it, but I thought someone else might. :-) Same basic description as the one above.
