I found out that even though our church has been closed since last March, some people are still buying cards there. The sympathy and "thinking of you' cards were all gone and the birthday cards were quite depleted. So, I took a break from my card-making break and got some cards together to bring up to church. I had plenty of birthday cards to donate, but only had one sympathy and two "thinking of you" cards. I made eight sympathy cards - two each of four styles. They were pretty much remakes of cards I've made in the past, so I'm not even going to share them here. I also made two of this card. I may make a few more "thinking of you" cards before I deliver them - or bring them to someone else to deliver, since I don't have a key for the church.
I used Stampin' Up! stamps for the image and the sentiment. I colored the rubber stamp with markers before stamping. I added teeny-tiny Nuvo drops to the flower centers. I used a Gina K stencil for the background.
My card-making break has been quite productive. It's amazing how much a person can get done when they are not stamping! LOL! I finished embroidering dishtowels for our daughter-in-law. (They were for her birthday last year, which is in December. I finished them before her this year's birthday!) I finished sorting through my mom and dad's things and got them on the first leg of their journey to my brother in Atlanta. (I still have the photos and all the letters that my dad sent home while he was in WWII. My plan is to scan all of them and share them with family.) I got caught up on my GAMES World of Puzzles magazines. I love them, and am so happy to realize that they are back in business. I was down to the bottom of my list, which is to do some reading. I hadn't quite started that, though, when I went back to card-making.

Glad to hear you are still creating cards! Am finally back in my craft room now that I have my hip replaced and am able to stand. Have had to tidy quite a bit so card production has not quite happened yet. Glad to hear you are safe and sound, we are having big covid numbers here so are staying housebound until we are able to get vaccine. Stay safe!
You most certainly have been very productive, including all the cards for the church! This one is very pretty. I've always loved this SU set. Brilliant, fantastic idea about scanning and sharing the letters. It's truly wonderful that you have them. Love the diagonal dp behind the stamped image. That stamp is a great one to use for sympathy cards!
How blessed you are to have those letters your father wrote home during WWII! My father served in occupational Japan after the bombing but mother didn't keep his letters. :(
You are such a sweetie to donate the cards. I don't have a specific place to do that. I wish I had some place local as mailing them is just to pricey.
Wow, you've definitely been busy, Lynette! It feels good to check tasks off a list, doesn't it? I'm not surprised to hear that your cards are selling at your church. I think it would be easier and safer for people to purchase a card at your church than to go to a store for one. So great of you to make more. I'm sure there will be some appreciative folks. I made four more Christmas cards for the thrift store today. They've been selling like hot cakes there, too. BTW, the card you shared today on your blog is really nice. I like the flower stamp a lot. It's so perfect for a thinking of you card.
