One-Layer Christmas

I made this card for Susan's (Simplicity blog) - and now Jennifer Styles' - One-Layer Wednesday. You can find the challenge here.  The challenge this week is to make a holiday card without using a red, green, white or cream base. I kind of feel like I cheated, but she didn't say "no Kraft!"

My snow globe image and the candy canes inside it are from Repeat Impressions. I stamped the snow globe with black ink and colored the base with a Creamy Caramel marker. I stamped the candy canes with white and embossed with detail white embossing powder and colored with a Real Red marker. EDITED TO ADD: (In answer to your question, Annie - I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the candy canes inside the snow globe.)  The sentiment (two separate stamps) is from Technique Tuesday.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

I don't think you cheated at all! Love the snow globe and would never have thought to put candy canes in it!

Love your snow globe of candy canes Lynette. How on earth did you manage to stamp the candy perfectly inside the globe?
Beautiful!

This is such a cute Christmas card Lynette.. I love that it is one layer so that it will not cost a small fortune to make them and mail them. I don't think that your using Kraft is cheating.:)

I think Kraft is perfect for the base - with the candy canes it looks like an old fashioned Christmas card! A very yummy card!
