Christmas Thursday

I've done "Christmas Sunday" for the past couple years, but I think I'll change to "Christmas Thursday." I link them up the to Christmas Card Challenge blog, and their posts are on Sunday, so I can never do the "theme" for the week. This way I'll be able to. I'm not quite sure I'm in the mood for doing Christmas cards, but I'll give it a try!

The theme this week is polka dots. I started with the patterned papers, which are both from Recollections. I stamped the sentiment, which is from Hero Arts. Then I stamped the snowflakes, which are also from Hero Arts. I matted with red cardstock and I mounted the sentiment panel on foam squares. One done!

Thanks for the comments on my last post about the Grand Calibur. I ordered one on Tuesday! I got a gift card from Amazon for my birthday, so it was a perfect way to spend it, even though until Tuesday I had NO plans of getting a new machine:)

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Lynette, I was happy to see your Christmas card this morning! It is such an adorable design! Extra cheery in my opinion with such fun elements. Thanks so much!
Please critique your new Grand Excalibur when you can!

I love the polka dots Lynette, very cheerful! Great Christmas card! I'm making thank you cards with my Christmas papers right now, so I know I won't be making Christmas cards anytime soon. LOL

Good for you getting such a great start on next years Christmas cards. I can't do that this month too busy getting caught up on must do BD and thank you cards and my stash is so low. But I may just try that next month. I'm sure it makes for a much calmer November & December. LOL

I personally am soooo not ready to make Christmas cards yet. But give you credit for your dedication to get a move on for the 2014 season.

Good job, Lynette! Polka dots are always a winner in my book. Once a month was hard for me last year. I'm trying something different this year and I think I'll do better. It sure is nice to have them done ahead of time.

I guess I'm way too late to suggest the Memory Box Metal Adaptor Plate to possibly solve the problem you're having cutting the intricate dies. At about $12 it would have been a lot easier on the pocketbook unless, of course, you needed a new die cutting machine anyway. I feel so fortunate that my Big Kick has not had any trouble with the wafer thin dies I've tried so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to do so well since I often read about people having the trouble you had with the poppy die. I haven't even had to break down and try the adaptor plate. Being the penny pincher I have to be on my tiny craft budget, I'd so rather spend the money on a new die! :)
