Hand-embossed Border, and Brass Stencils

Going through some supplies the other day, I came across these old brass stencils. The embossed border was done - by hand! - with a Stampin' Up! stencil. The smaller panel was done with a different one. I used a stipple brush to dab ink through the stencil. I used a marker for the small dots. I added tiny gems to the flower centers. I matted each layer with raspberry cardstock. The small panel is mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is stamped with Papertrey Ink stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Wow that embossed frame is perfect! The old brass stencils are how I started embossing too.

Lovely card!! You remind me that I have a batch of brass stencils that I picked up at the local craft store's Trash or Treasure sale several years back. They had such pretty designs I couldn't pass them up even though I have more embossing folders than I will ever be able to use! LOL! My plan had been to use the brass stencils with embossing paste, but your border looks so nice I might get out a stylus or two and give that kind of embossing a try.

Really pretty, Lynette. And your raspberry mat layers are so perfect! Do you use a special tool to cut them?

Oh, stop, Lynette! You're making me really sorry I no longer have my brass stencils. As if I don't have plenty of stuff to keep me busy, but you do such a lovely job of using your supplies. Really love the border and the offset panel inside, which is sooooo pretty with the delicate flowers and colors. The sentiment is perfect. Wishing I didn't have grocery shopping to deal with today. One of my least favorite jobs, but a necessary one.
