Graduation

This is the card I made for our former next-door neighbor. Her school colors were blue and gold.

I used a brass stencil for the books and cap. I used sticky paper and glitter with it. I used my JustRite Stamper for the personalization. The background was embossed with a Congratulations Cuttlebug folder. The matting is all Pacific Point and I used Dimensionals for the mounting.

Flutter By Wednesday - Summer

Today starts a new challenge from Flutter By Wednesday challenge. This week's challenge is the theme "Summer." We'd love to have you join the challenge. Just make your card, upload it, and link it up to the Flutter By Wednesday blog. Be sure to include your butterfly or fairy!

I love daisies and they say "summer" to me. For my card, I used stamps from a set from Sheena (Sheena Douglass). The stamps were a gift from my good friend, Harriet.  I colored the daisies with Copic markers. I cut the image and matting with Nestabilities. The butterfly was done with a Martha Stewart punch and adorned with gems.

I just got back from our annual "Group Gathering" in Des Moines, Iowa. A group of nine of us gathered for three days of shopping (in stamp stores!), eating, laughing and stamping. What fun!!! This was our seventh year and we already have our reservations for next year. Members of our group who have blogs besides Harriet are Sheri and Vicki. There were four from Iowa, two from Nebraska, one from Illinois, one from California and one from Minnesota.

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Quick post for today. I made this card for my mom and dad for their 64th anniversary, which was yesterday.

I used my JustRite Stamper for the sentiment, a Spellbinders die for the blue "lacy" circle, Nestabilities for the other circles, a Stampin' Up! embossing folder, a sticker, a few gems, some foam squares and Pacific Point cardstock.

Flutter By Wednesday #245 - A Sketch

It's Wednesday, so that means it's time for a new challenge from Danni at the Flutter By Wednesday blog. The challenge this week is another great sketch by Kathy. Check out the details on the blog and also take a look at the wonderful creations by the design team. Follow the sketch - being sure to use a butterfly or a fairy - and link up your projects.

I rotated the sketch so I could use the punch I chose. I punched the holes with the butterflies three times using a McGill punch. I matted with a light tan. The bottom is punched with a Fiskars punch and it's embossed with a Sizzix folder. The base is Papertrey Kraft and the sentiment is from PTI, also. I mounted the purple layer on foam squares.

Welcome, Jonah Alexander!

Here is the card I made for our new grandson. I used my JustRite Stamper for the sentiment. I used dies for the cutting. I embossed the background with a Sizzix folder. The cardstock is from a Die Cuts With a View matstack.

Happy Father's Day!

Here is the card I made I made for my dad for Father's Day. Not really very "masculine" but at least I made blue flowers and he does like birds!

I stamped the image from Repeat Impressions on watercolor paper from Stampin' Up! I used an Aquapainter and Stampin' Up! ink pads to "paint" the image. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions, also. The patterned paper is from a Recollections pad.

Flutter By Wednesday - CAS

Time for another challenge from the Flutter By Wednesday blog. The challenge for this week is to make a Clean and Simple (CAS) card - and be sure to remember to include your butterfly or fairy. We'd love to have you join us. Simply upload your card and link it to the FBW blog.

My cards couldn't be much simpler! The images are all simply cut from a pad of patterned cardstock from Kathy Davis. I matted them with some deep pink cardstock. I mounted the butterfly on the first one with foam squares. The sentiment on the first one is from Hero Arts. The sentiment on the second on is from Stampin' Up! Edited to add: Forgot to mention I also added some Stickles to the butterfly and the flower centers.

Christmas Sunday

I took some time for stamping yesterday and it was awesome! I made these five Christmas cards. They are all quite similar and simple, so I don't think much explanation is necessary. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! All of the stamping was done with Versamark ink and embossing powder. I used tiny gems on most of them. The bottom one has snowflake-printed vellum. Edited to add: The snowflakes stamp is from Inkadinkado. The Season's Greeting stamp is from Hero Arts. The Merry Christmas stamp is from Denami.

Birthday for a Guy

This is the birthday card I made for my brother. Quite simple, as I haven't really been much in the mood for card-making lately. Too much "life" going on.

I stamped the chair (from Repeat Impressions) on patterned paper and cut it out. Both the chair paper and the background are from a Recollections paper stack. I printed the sentiment on the computer. The inside says "Relax and enjoy!"

Flutter By Wednesday #243

Time for this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge. This week's challenge is open - anything goes as long as you include your butterfly or fairy. Please DO remember your butterfly or fairy! We are sponsored this week by 2 Cute Ink. Be sure to check out the design team's creations on the blog. We'd love to have you join us!

The members of Danni's design team were given three images to work with, if we chose. I chose to use the Butterfly Bear image. I colored her with Copics and matted her with black. The bottom layer of matting for the image was cut from white with a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is from a Papertrey set and the card front is covered with patterned paper from Die Cuts With a View.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

June Calendar Page

My calendar page for June. Still haven't started my calendars for 2014. Drat!

The main lady bug is made with a Lasting Impressions brass stencil. I embossed the lady bug on white and on red. I cut the body out of the red. I added the black with a marker. I matted with a shimmery silver paper. The background was stamped with a Studio G dollar stamp stamp.

Happy Anniversary to Our Daughter

Today is our daughter and son-in-law's tenth anniversary. Gosh, time sure flies, doesn't it?

I cut the bird and swirl with my Cameo Silhouette. I added a small gem for his eye. I stamped the sentiment (from My Sentiments Exactly) with Perfect Plum ink, then embossed with a Sizzix folder. The bird and the matting are Perfect Plum, from Stampin' Up!

Also, as an early anniversary present, their son, Jonah Alexander, arrived yesterday morning! He has an older brother, Andrew, and an older sister, Amelia.

Flutter By Wednesday - a Recipe

This week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is a "recipe." The challenge is to use at least one butterfly, flowers, and a punch or die cut. Fun, huh? We'd love for you to join us. Be sure to check out the creations by the design team on the blog.

For my card, I started with a black and pink butterfly, cut with my Cameo Silhouette. The background is just patterned paper with tiny circles punched with a punch and then black gems in the very center. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! I stamped it with black, cut it out, and then used a pink marker to color the sentiment. The sentiment and butterfly are mounted on Dimensionals.

Cupcake Birthday

I hope you all enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend. We had a very nice weekend. Got some walking done, ran some errands, and had an out-of-town wedding.

Today's card is just a simple birthday. The image (with sentiment) is from Stampin' Up!'s Easy Events. I colored with Copic markers and added Stardust Stickles to the frosting. I cut with a circle Nestability and added doodling around the edge. The matting was cut with my Silhouette. I mounted on Dimensionals. The background is from the very first matstack I ever bought! (from Die Cuts With a View. But, now that I think of it, I may have bought a couple from Sizzix before this one.)

Anniversary Flowers

An anniversary card for friends. It's rare that I make an anniversary card that doesn't say "Happy Anniversary" on the outside, but here is one:)

The stamps are all from a set from Papertrey Ink called Botanical Silhouettes. I used Stampin' Up! In Colors for the stamping - except for the black - and I added white dots to the flowers. The matting is from SU!, also. The patterned paper is from Recollections. I embossed the middle of the bottom layer of matting with a Cuttlebug border folder. I mounted the image panel on Dimensionals.

Happy Memorial Day to my American friends. I hope you are enjoying your long weekend.

Christmas Sunday

I missed last week, but I'm back today with another Christmas card. I'll be linking it up to the Christmas Card Challenge blog as soon as I can - or whenever I remember! LOL! OK. Sorry for the delay. This week's Christmas Card Challenges blog challenge is to use stitching - or just make a Christmas card.

This is quite simple, so I guess it's no surprise that it's one of my favorites so far. Both stamps are from the Stampin' Up! set called Christmas Blessings. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the stamping. I colored with Copics, matted with Real Red and added Diamond Glaze to the berries. That's it!

Another Thank You

I have always liked making Thank You cards, and I figured out why a while ago - because they just need to be "simple" cards. This was before the term "Clean and Simple" started. I have another one to share with you today.

I had die cut the olive piece last week when I was playing with some of my Cuttlebug dies. I glued a piece of white cardstock behind it and stamped the letters using an Image Tree alphabet set. I added black gems to the ends and a dark gray one to the image in between the words. I glued a small piece of black to that layer and mounted the whole thing on Dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Thanks!

As promised, I'm using up some pieces I've cut while going through some of my dies.

The "thanks" was cut with a Cuttlebug die from some shiny, textured black. It looked so cool all alone, that I didn't want to add much to it. I matted with a small piece of Real Red that was already cut and in my scraps. The sparkly flower is from Prima. I added a glittery red brad to the center. The card base is vanilla - even though it looks white!

Flutter By Wednesday #241 - A Sketch

This week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is another great sketch by Kathy. You can find the sketch to the left and also on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. Be sure to check out the fabulous creations by the design team - such talent! We'd love to have you join in the fun.

My card uses a digital image from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps called Butterfly and Flower. I colored it with Copics and added Star Dust Stickles to the butterfly. I sponged some Soft Sky ink over the image while I still had it in the Nestability. I matted with black, cutting the matting with another Nestability, and mounted on Dimensionals. The border on the horizontal layer was punched with a Fiskars punch. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Another Cute Little Elephant :)

I've had some time to spend in my stamping room lately, but haven't really gotten much completed. I've had fun, though, going through some little embossing folders and dies. I've cut some pieces and have them ready to use on cards, so hopefully you'll be seeing some of them soon. I did make a Christmas card yesterday, but it was fairly similar to one I'd already made, so I didn't post it.

For this card, I started with the cute little elephant, cut with a small Cuttlebug die. I cut her from textured grey. I mounted her on pink, doodled around the edges, added black gems for her eyes, matted with black and mounted on Dimensionals. The bottom is the same textured grey matted with black. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
