Stenciled Background

I got a new Darice stencil (through Consumer Crafts) and used it to make a piece for both of these cards. I used four colors of Gina K ink and a makeup brush for the backgrounds.

On this first card, I used the left-over piece from the second card. I used a technique from Jennifer McGuire's blog for the sentiment die. I first added sparkly embossing powder to the die-cut and then added a couple layers of ultra-thick embossing powder. The original die-cut is from the same color as the bottom layer.
For this second card, I die-cut a frame and then added vellum behind it. I used another die to cut the sentiment. The sentiment panel is mounted on foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Both cards are so pretty! I really like the stenciled background that was created and the colors you used!

Oh, my gosh, both these cards are outstanding! I love the extra dimension of the sentiment on the first one and the pretty ink blending and sentiment frame on the second one. Don't you just love those brushes? I know I love mine and am encouraged to use more stencils because I have them.

I love the stencil and the way you shaded the colors, and I'm totally smitten with the "hello" word! I recently bought several stencils and am enjoying the heck out of them. Great cards, Lynette!
